We sat upstairs and our son loved that of course. This is a small place but it is an awesome addition to the downtown area. I had a fantastic experience at Emory Bar and Kitchen and can't recommend it enough. The roasted chicken with garlic mashed potatoes was absolutely excellent--perfectly cooked, flavorful, and clearly prepared with care. Every bite was satisfying. The service was equally impressive. The staff was attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was just right without being overbearing. It really added to the overall experience. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a great balance of comfort and style in a historic building. It doesn't have the cookie cutter style of a restaurant in a retail building like the rest of Waxahachie. The presentation of the food was also top-notch, showing real attention to detail. I visited this location on Father's Day and we had a reservation. We sat upstairs and unfortunately it was so hot it was hard to enjoy our meal. The kitchen was super busy due to the holiday but it took over 30 minutes for us to get our food. We ordered from the appetizer menu due to the limited seafood options and I had the crab cakes and macaroni and cheese and my husband had crab claws and asparagus. The food was okay, but could've used a bit more herbs and spices. I'm mot sure if this was a normal experience or maybe it was just the wrong day to visit. If we decide to stop by again, I'm hoping for a better experience. read more

This restaurant is a real treasure in the downtown area. The décor was so lovely and none of the loud music some places have. It is very quiet and elegant. Our waitress Tara was just great. They normally require reservations and were pretty booked up since it was Prom night. Since we got there at 4:30, they were able to fit us in. And since we were early we got the drink specials, all of which were quite good. The food was delicious. We all had a variety, meatloaf, pork chops, Southern shrimp pasta and the Caesar salad with blackened shrimp. The blackened shrimp did not have much seasoning and could have been cooked just a bit more but otherwise was very tender. We all absolutely loved the place and can't wait to go back. read more

We stopped in for a cocktail while exploring Waxahachie. The space is beautiful. A real gem in a lovely historical building. Our bartender, Danny was very friendly and really knows how to pour a drink. If I were ever in the area again, I would not hesitate to visit The Emory Bar & Kitchen. read more

OMG Sooooo AMAZING . This bar and restaurant came highly recommend. Customer service was top notch. Greater walking in the door. I did sit at the bar and the bartender was outstanding. Drinks were nice and strong. Lots on options on menu. The burger was bursting with so much flavor and the bacon was super crispy perfect. The service was super fast. Friend got the chicken and when I say the seasoning was PERFECT, the green beans chef kissed and the mashed potatoes were real. Omg I am so super picky and Chef Steve did not disappoint. I would give 6 stars if I could. We had a party of four for dinner. The server KNEW the menu and made excellent recommendations. The servings were more than ample. The shrimp and grits had in house picked onions that I wish they sold to take home. They had a nice heat that was perfect. Amazing food, incredible service, relaxing atmosphere. Ask for Tara. the place is beautiful! the staff were friendly. the food was good. BUT.... we ordered an appetizer and 2 meals. it took about 30-45 minutes to get the appetizer. then it took 2 hours from the time we ordered our dinners (which we ordered with our appetize because we had plans following our dinner) to get our plates. we had had a couple of drinks and the owner came over to apologize for the delay and told us to keep the drinks coming while we waited. once the food was delivered we had about 15 minutes to eat so we could get to our concert in time so we asked for the check immediately- once the check showed up we saw that they didn't comp a thing. now I dont go around wanting handouts but a 2 HOUR WAIT - for a burger and pork chops doesn't seem irrational to get something comped especially after the owner told us to keep drinking we assumed by that statement he meant "we got you covered" - i guess that is why they have a saying about assume. up until the check came we kept saying to each other that it was a cool place and we would gladly come bacloser, just when we didn't have plans following. but after the way that was handled - we are out. we just don't believe it was handled correctly. read more
