Late review for our first time here but in time for our second time review. We came here with friends and had a good time our first time here. Ambience is a great hang out spot. Second time we came to have us a good little date night. Our waitress was fabulous. Hope was so sweet and attentive. Service was on point! So, I'll say that I was super excited about coming here the second time because the French toast was amazing the first time. Second time, what a disappointment that was. Large establishment with LOTS of outdoor seating. We went on a crisp Sunday afternoon and it wasn't busy. Our server was nice. The menu is largely American southern food with some Tex or Tex-Mex accents. Food took a really long time to come out and it was only warm-ish. We had the pork chop with green beans and a side salad and a chicken cheesesteak which was ordered with sweet potatoes fries, but came out with regular battered fries. Overall the food was fine. Nothing special and nothing awful. Pork chop was a bit overdone. Salad was fresh. For the prices, I think we might have expected more. read more

I went for a concert and then went back the next weekend for brunch. The concerts are great with a variety of options for seating. My first time here we did general admission and brought camping chairs that we could set up behind the picnic table that are up front. You can also book tables or VIP tables. There was no line for the bar in VIP, the GA line was a little long but you can buy a bucket or beer for less trips. The vibe is chill. If you want to be able to talk but still see the stage and listen to the music, then GA is your spot. GA is also good if you have kids or dogs and the noise up front might be too much. If you want to be immersed in the music, then tables are your best bet. read more

There were no prices on the menu and when we got the bill, the food was way overpriced for what you get. It's basically bar food at nearly double the cost. One person in our party didn't receive their food until after everybody else was finished eating and another person's food was cold when it was brought out. Great hangout spot especially for a large group!! They have a large outdoor area with lots of benches and turf for kids to play. We came on a Saturday with a large group and they made it work even though we didn't make any reservations. Staff were on point and very patient and nice. It's been two years since my last visit here, and decided to try this place again last Saturday. I like the ambiance, the food is ok, and again, I was hoping the service has changed, unfortunately, it has not changed in two years. It's one thing I cannot stand is seating us in an area where there is a lot of foot traffic, so we decided to move, of course asking politely with the waitstaff. Sat down with my wife at a different spot and there came the same waitress we had two years ago. I was thinking ok, we're Asians so I guess it's just fitting to have an Asian waitress which is not really an issue. Ordered our drinks, starter and our entrees in a flash because we were hungry. Twenty minutes passed and we still do not have our starter of spinach and artichoke dip, and when it finally came, the watiress said, let me get you plates, but my wife and I ignored her and started eating because we knew it was take another ten minutes or so and we were right. To make matters worse, when my wife got her grilled cheese and tomato soup, there was no spoon and we waited for another five minutes for a spoon to eat the soup with and the soup looks like it came out of a Campbells can. Soup was cold too! The only saving grace with this visit is my Taphouse burger! read more

The menu states: "Two buttermilk biscuits with our house-made sausage gravy," yet we received one frozen, reheated biscuit that was cut in half, served with canned gravy and a cooked sausage patty that was shredded and dumped on top. The breakfast burger was supposed to come with an over-easy egg, but what we got was nowhere near over-easy--more like over well-done. They tried again, and still failed to provide any sign of a runny yolk. I could go on, but what's the point? You get the idea. Honestly, I'm not sure how this place stays in business unless it's purely for the beer and cocktails. The only positive thing I can say is the service was really good--but that's it. The salmon was under seasoned also. I asked for a side of garlic butter and she brought me a small bowl of butter that was still "boiling" from the microwave. That meal was $29.50. Once we were seated we ordered the queso to start. It was watery and bland. For my entre I had the Gulf catch. It was similarly bland and the portions were very small. The cilantro lime rice was a small ball and didn't taste at all like lime. My husband had the chicken fried steak, and he liked the breading. They forgot his potatoes, and when they brought them out they were also in a small bowl. The asparagus was good. For dessert we ordered the cobbler a' la mode for dessert and it was good. This is a spot that I would really like to come and enjoy. Unfortunately things have happened each time I've come here that has prevented me from loving this place. The is above-average, so no real complaints there. My last visit here was my third visit now. This was also the third time they've been out of several of the beer selections. I haven't quite given up on them, so hopefully they get the beer situation figured out. The theme was well put together and gives it a home town feel. It's not very big on the inside but the outdoor seating area is really nice and at night there are lights around the trees so perfect for cooler weather. The Texas smokehouse fries as the appetizer were really good and the meat and pickled onions were a great mix. The food in general was cooked really well but could've had more seasoning on the inside. Can't forget the inside. The outside of the chicken was super crispy which I loved. Now the drinks ! The road runner if you're a mule lover is a MUST! The tipsy Texas punch was a hit as well! If you're a margarita lover get the Texas top shelf margarita. Rachel was our server. We ordered 2 cheese steaks. She brought us an order of cheese sticks and fries. She apologized and we were understanding and tried to understand the miscommunication, but still wanted our order. We eventually got our order, but she charged us for everything....even the cheese sticks and fries that we had not ordered. In addition, she offered choices with our order (onion rings or tater tots) without telling us that it would be more expensive. We felt totally taken advantage of. Absolutely horrible, one of the worst experiences ever in a restaurant. The queso was so thin it ran off of the chips; the chips were greasy and tough and to say the food was below mediocre is generous. The kids ordered a burger and wings to share, and they each took one bite of the burger, and each took one bite off the wings and the rest stayed untouched. The wings were tough and over cooked, and the burger looked like a piece of charcoal (no exaggeration). The salmon was so overcooked and dry it was shredding and not flaking. The chicken fried steak was nearly $20.00, and the meat was not much bigger than a patty from a slider style burger. The menu is priced like you are eating something special, but the quality of the food and portion size do not back that up. We were in the building for one hour and fifty minutes. I never saw a manager or supervisor anywhere, if one had been around maybe some of these issues could have been fixed before they became a problem. I asked what was taking so long and even took into account the appetizer drawing things out, still no manager to be seen. We noticed some other tables get up and walk out. I told the server if it was not out in 5 minutes to cancel it and we were leaving. The food arrived but we should have just left, trying to eat the food only made the evening worse. I think this place relies on the atmosphere, the bar, the patio, and live music to make it a success. I can only assume that quality food and service is an afterthought. Unless you are there for the bar and music only, I would suggest you go somewhere else if you want to enjoy a good meal. I have been trying to get over to this place for a while and now that I have, my first visit is also my last. Very disappointed, I really had high hopes for this place. read more
