Made a reservation online using open table. It was very simple and easy to navigate. Called the restaurant on the day of the reservation stating we were running 15 min behind and that our number has decreased by 2. Not an issue, got thanked for the update. It wasnt that busy at the time of our arrival. There were a lot of tables and the noise level was quiet. The host was nice and sat us not too long after we arrived. The table that we got sat at was extremely wobbly. My father-in-law noticed another table had napkins placed underneath to stabilize so he did the same to our table and it worked. Tara took our order and brought out the drinks. The food was 90% great! The 10% that fell short was a combination of things. 1) menu online and the physical menu said corn bread (which we were told no longer serves them). If its no longer available, update the menu because we were excited to try the corn bread. 2) a bbq place with no wet naps, that is really weird. However, they did bring me a stack of paper towels that were wet as if they were wet naps. 3) only 1 steak knife was provided in the platters. It was hard for a party of 6 to cut up meat with only 1 steak knife. 4) one of the sides came out cold, and hard. I bit into a macaroni and it felt raw because of how hard it was! I even dropped the macaroni on the plate and it rang! We brought it to the servers attention and we were able to get a fresh one free of charge. We loved the short ribs and the tomahawk steak! They were delicious. Baked potato as a side item was very large! During the whole time we were eating, no one came by to check on us, refills were not provided until after we were done eating. We never got one of the drinks that Tara wrote down and it showed up on the check. I was trying to get a staff members attention, and my hand was raised up, and there were hosts that saw my hand raised, but did nothing. There were other servers and runners that saw it too. Took a while for us to get any help. We eventually flagged down our server after what felt like 5 minutes. We brought the charge to our servers attention, and they corrected that too. Overall, the table service could have been a lot better, fix broken tables, and I suggest you bring your own wet naps or baby wipes because they dont supply any.

We were all impressed by this place!! 5 of us got a family meal and had so many leftovers. We came late at night but service was great and the meat was so tender. I wasn't particular impressed by the chicken but it's a bbq place, so I wasn't too thrown off by that. Plenty of seating and it was quick and easy to make a reservation. Would be a great place to watch sports, there is a bar as well! I tried the other location in Anaheim before and wasn't impressed by that one, so this one pleasantly surprised me.

I like this place a lot. They have screens all over the place to watch sports. Also the wait staff was really good. The food was also really good. So I totally recommend coming here.

Stopped by on a Tuesday evening. It wasn't busy. I stayed for a couple drinks and ordered a good amount of food to go. Service was a bit slow and it looked like only one server was working, which I understood since I wasn't in a rush. I ordered the Prime Brisket Quesadilla, Winter Lodge Salad, Fresh Atlantic Salmon, Beef Back Ribs, and broccolini. For the price, the portions felt pretty small even though everything comes in large containers. The salmon was actually cooked well and was probably the highlight. The Winter Lodge salad was just okay. The beef back ribs were disappointing, very thin and overcooked, pretty chewy. The broccolini was $11 for only a few pieces which felt excessive. I also ordered a strawberry cooler and asked for no tajin but it still came with it. I still drank it but it was extremely sweet and not really for me. I did ask another server a question and she simply said she didn't know, which wasn't very helpful. The food also came out very quickly and by the time I got home it was already cold, so it made me question the overall quality a bit. Based on this visit I probably wouldn't return. It felt overpriced for what you get, and I didn't really notice much smoked flavor from the meats either.

Two of us ordered a half pound of smoked brisket with sides and drinks for brunch. The broccoli, waffle fries, and mac and cheese were all great. The mocktail with homemade syrup was very good, must try. The vibe in the restaurant is nice, high ceilings and an open space. Good service as well.

Came here on a Saturday night around 8:30pm...got seated immediately. Our party of 3 wasn't really hungry so we decided to get two orders of the half pound brisket and the waffle fries. The fries were very good - something about waffle fries, esp how ketchup covers the ridges - so good. Unfortunately, all four pieces of brisket were very dry. The flavor on the bark was very good, but biting into it was more like tearing into beef jerky. There were many appealing items on the menu and it looks like we ordered the worse thing. But how can you be called a bbq place if your brisket is done poorly? Maybe we will try this place again...hopefully things will be better. Thankfully the service was good and there were plenty of TVs to distract us from the bad brisket.

This place has been on my radar for a while and I finally made it over for lunch with my friends. It was a Monday afternoon and not too crowded. Our server was Christopher and he gave us plenty of time to look at the menu before we ordered. It's a huge open space that felt more like a sports bar. There were several TV's surrounding the tables and a huge bar in the back. I shared a Wagyu Baldwin Burger w/waffle fries and a Winter Lodge Salad with my daughter. The burger was good, the waffle fries weren't hot enough and the salad was average. The balsamic dressing was bland and a few bites tasted like there was dirt on the lettuce. My friends ordered the Stockberger, Smoked Tri Tip Bahn Mi sandwich which they enjoyed, and the Smoked Brisket Potato Skins which were okay. *Happy Hour Monday - Friday 2-6pm and 9:00pm to close every day *Meter parking & garage parking near by

We came in to celebrate a birthday with a party of nine. The ambiance was nice, and there were tons of TVs to watch the games. I've been to the Arcadia location before and didn't enjoy it because the food was overly salty, but this location was actually quite good, and I enjoyed the meal overall. The service, unfortunately, was a bit lacking, it was pretty hard to flag down our server, even just to get water refills. As for the food, this location hits. Here's what I tried: Grilled Jalapeño Burger - Loved the bun, and everything was well-seasoned. Fries came with it even though it wasn't listed on the menu. (4.5/5) Big Texan - A bomb dish, but it does get overwhelming as you eat more of it. The flavors are strong, and I think it would be perfect to share. Since I ate most of it myself, it got a bit tiring toward the end, but still very good. (4.5/5) Street Corn - I was excited for this, but it felt under-seasoned. It was decent corn, but honestly just tasted like plain grilled corn without much added to it. (3.5/5) Complimentary Nachos - Every time I eat at Crafts, they end up giving the table something for free, not sure why. Still, it was a nice and reasonable appetizer, and I enjoyed it. (4/5) Overall, I liked this Crafts location much more than the Arcadia one (which I think is closed now). It still wouldn't be my first choice of places to go, but if someone suggested it, I wouldn't mind at all. Note: Did not receive anything complimentary for the birthday.

We hadn't been to Craft since they closed down their location in Arcadia at the Santa Anita mall. The kids chicken tenders, brisket and 3 cheese mac and cheese were really good. We also tried their tri-tip, and it did appear to be a little bit overcooked so was a little dry. However with their BBQ sauce, it made it better. There was no wait for a table for 3 on a Saturday evening right before Christmas so that was impressive. Our waitress was quick, courteous and very helpful with her suggestions. It is a nice ambiance to sit in the restaurant with high ceilings, many large TV screens and ample seating in the dining room.

My husband chose this spot as he was in the area for a meeting, and so I met up with him for lunch during the week. Parking blows, but I think anyone in Pasadena knows that lol. Place was pretty big, ample space and seats. It wasn't too busy so we were immediately seated. Servers were awesome, this would definitely be a place my husband and I would go to if it was closer to us to get drinks and watch sports. Food, is a mixed review. I ordered tri tip, and was kind of surprised it didn't come with ANY sides. Price is a little much for a few strips, so I added the garlic and herbs mash, topped with chicharrón. My husband went with the brisket grilled cheese, and my son with the chicken tenders. Both of their food choices were actually MUCH more delicious than mine. The tri tip was barely warm when I got it. Was a little disappointed. But that was just me.

GREAT brisket! Ambiance: the place has an elegant sport bar feel interior Food: - Nachos: I got the mountain high loaded fries (swapped the fires for chips so that they're nachos) and they were amazing! (See picture) Texas Style Smoked Brisket Hall pound (SO MUCH FLAVOR) (see picture) Service: they were friendly, quick and had good recommendations If you're in the mood for BBQ and a cool sports bar seating this place is perfect

The Tritip was tender and soooo well seasoned the Tritip bahn mi was my favorite. The spinach and artichoke dip also had a great bite to it and the melted cheese yumm... we happened to be there at happy hour so we got 2 for 1 drinks (drinks are good... and STRONG). The service was great & the vibe is upscale sports bar!

    Anna A.

Everything we tried was amazing -- the potato skins, short rib, birria quesadilla, brisket tacos, and Thai chili wings were all delicious! The only downside was that the food cooled off a little too quickly because the ventilation inside works too well, so maybe enjoy your dishes slowly or ask them to stagger the order. No wait, nice big space! The menu has changed quite a bit -- no more skewers, lamb chops, or mud pie -- but everything we had was worth it. Definitely going back!

There is mention of a brunch buffet. When is this available and at which locations?

Inconsistent items and availability, varying prices, time limit. Not available in Pasadena.

    Are kids allowed to?

Yup! At least around 7pm on a Saturday they were. Was pretty pretty packed but kids on iPads and moms with babies

Does the restaurant have curbside pickup?

They do have online ordering for pickup, but I'm not sure that they have curbside especially with the limited parking on the street. Be sure to call and ask.

Anyone know if they are good with splitting checks? We don't care if there is gratuity added just need somewhere tasty for a party of 15-20 people.

Is there live music on the weekend?

    there is not

Is this safe for a celiac?

Is there any handicap parking by doors? I have a 102 year old grandfather who can't walk far.

All the street parking has been turned to outdoor dining. Granted you can take up a portion of the street to quickly drop off your grandfather. But all parking is offsite and about a 3-5 min walk

How can I find a catering menu to place a future order? The link on the website does not work and I can't find any other catering menu and you guys are a bit far for me to drive over just for a menu.

    https://www.craftbysmokeandfire.com/catering

    Is it gluten free?

It's mostly meat. They have a tonne of side dishes. I'd ask about the bread for a gluten-free option. You may want to skip the Mac & Cheese.

Do you use any of the delivery services? GrubHub ? Door dash? Etc...

    i do not

Do you have a corkage fee?

    Yes $15 per bottle

    Is it dog friendly?

Yes free dog water and doggie patty

    Are strollers allowed?

We brought in a baby and stroller. The manager even went out of his way to go to a neighboring restaurant to get us some milk!

    Is there a happy hour?

Yes there is, buy one get one free. Totally worth it

How do I make a reservation?

Go on their website https://www.craftbysmokeandfire.com/ and there's an OpenTable reservation function

Hi I wonder if you guys can allow a dog?

They have patio dining (by street), often have dogs sitting around

Do you have to go options ? and what is the best way to go about this.

Yes, to go options is available. Just let them know you would like your order to go.

    Do you Allow dogs?

We have an outdoor patio section for dogs, and a doggy patty!

    Do you take reservations?

    Yes, through open table! (:

    Hi, are your meats halal?

Yes all of the meats are halal

We powered through, and by the second half of our meal, most diners had finished and left us upstairs with only a couple of lingering parties. THEN this place became GREAT! Here's all that we stuffed ourselves with during the cacophony of chatter: flaky buttermilk biscuits, honey butter (3pc; please allow 20 minutes) - totally worth the 20 mins!! Super buttery and flaky, I might go back JUST FOR THIS! crispy calamari, horseradish cocktail sauce - great little kick in the sauce. Perfectly lightly battered. fideos, clams, chorizo, saffron, sweet sherry aïoli - mmmm, this was delicious. The Spanish chorizo enhanced the broth with a good saltiness. white shrimp from the griddle, aïoli - this was my favorite. The shrimp was not overcooked and peeled easily. The flavor was good enough to slurp the juices out. single burger, prime chuck, tillamook cheddar, dijonaise, egg brioche bun & crispy french fries - good meaty burger, love the dijonaise, GREAT shoestring fries. Parking is a little challenging during the day, not so bad in the evening. It's South Pas, a little neighborhood walk after dinner never hurts.

Food here is very safe, trite, hackneyed California cuisine beaten to death like a worn out horse. It's not really bad and not very good offending no one, but food that is boring and not particularly drop dead flavourful. I wasn't super hungry and decided to order more of the sides. 1) French Fries with some skin on, looking rustic, had a touch of that ineffable earthy potato flavour. Asked for extra crispy, but just got a bit crispy so their default fries must be rather limp. Standard ketchup in a steel ramekin. 2) Roasted Golden Beet & Arrugula Salad had sweet, softer, smooth texture, Arrugula had a fibrous, good green herbal, peanut oil scented flavour. Not too funky, creamy goat cheese. Roasted walnut halves. All napped with a subtle Champagne Vinaigrette. Portion was about half of what would be expected in other comparable restaurants. 3) Bread Pudding: The bread was spongy, moist, eggy almost like a flan but lacked a deeper dairy, milkiness as well as lack of hints of warm spices such as cinnamon, allspice, ginger, cloves. Bland would describe the general overall flavour. Topped with cream rich ice cream. Scattering of blueberry, blackberry, strawberry. At home, I drizzled on Grand Marnier for more citrus cognac aromatics. 1-3a) Iced Tea The food here seems to be the Midwest version of what California cuisine should be. Middle of the road, steady as she goes, don't rock the boat. Our waitress was efficient, helpful, thoughtful in a business-like manner which facilitated our group of 8. The male helper with a moustache and the inked hand was great at keeping our glasses topped off. 3 stars for a safe, not overly effusive food that does not offend. My husband caved in and got their 1776 Burger special that was made in celebration for America celebrating 250 years of freedom. The food came quicker than expected and we dug right in. The Garlic Fries were a bit oily and definitely garlicky, but good. The Patty Melt was great and I love how then use the marbled rye bread. I looked over at my husband who was wanting me to give his burger a try, but it looked too messy and saucy for my liking and let him enjoy his meal. Overall, definitely prefer lunch over breakfast that we had before and would want to try more of their menu the next time we visit.

Also, the price on the menu for orange juice is misleading. They list one price but if you get a large orange juice, they charge you double stating that the price is for a small. NO WHERE does it say that. Pancakes are at least good though. You can get a much better breakfast for far less at a million other places.

Happy Hour Only!…read more Prior to dinner in Pasadena, we popped in for some happy hour. At this time there are select days at this location where there is all day happy hour-- I believe Monday- Wednesday. Other weekdays its select hours of happy hour that starts at three. Happy hour consist of select beers, wine, and cocktails. With beer starting at $6.50 and cocktails going up to 13 dollars. Plus, there is a wide range of food items to compliment your drinks. The ambiance at this location is particularly nice. I think this is one of my favorite locations. On the first floor that is a large bar, plus there is a roof top patio and seating on three different floors. Note, happy hour is only served at the first flow bar unfortunately. The service is always great at this location. The bartender was very attentive during our visit. In front of the restaurant there is street parking that gets busy at night. Prior to 6pm, some parking in front is limited to one hour so read the signs carefully. Also, the parking in front is metered so pay the pay the meter. I believe there is parking in the rear that offers a limited free parking time. Cheers!

We decided to spring for valet parking for $8 but then realized there's 2 hour street parking for free just beyond the hedges in front of the restaurant afterwards. Oh well, it was a special occasion. We were seated right at 6 (the time of our reservation). The hostess also made sure we knew our server's name and brought us ice water. (You can choose bottled or tap). Our server's name Jennifer was friendly and attentive throughout the evening. We ordered the horseradish crusted salmon and the steak frites and our friends ordered the truffle mushroom tagliatelle and the filet mignon. We were all extremely happy and satisfied with our entrees. The portions are perfect. No doggy bags needed and no room for dessert. I really enjoyed the broccolini that accompanied my salmon--it was cooked just enough to retain a little crunch. The savory sauce on the salmon was subtle and complimentary to the flaky fish. We sat in the bar room of this restaurant that used to be a house. The patio looked lovely too, especially on a summer evening so maybe we'll choose that next time. Because you can bet there'll be a next time!

SERVICE: 10/10 A+ Excellent Service! Everyone was very friendly. Emily was our service for the first half followed by Danny and her team. Everyone was very PATIENT!!! That's so rare!!! Very professional. There was no signs of moodiness or exhaustion. Bravo to the hardworking staff!!! SEABASS: 10/10 Star of the show! The fish was cooked perfectly. It was soft on the inside and a pinch of joyful crunch on the outside. However, I did not like the mash potatoes because it had a very weird taste... PRIME RIB DIP: 8/10 Not bad. It reminded us of the HAT's pastrami sandwich... FILET MIGNON: 9/10 looks delicious! My party finished his plate... CLAM CHOWDER: 10/10 My mother in law said it was very good! ARTICHOKES: 7/10 Very dry. We had to replace it with another appetizer... SPINACH DIP: 9/10 Delicious!!! The dip's flavor and texture really stood out... AMBIANCE: 10/10 Nice and a bit dimmed ambiance. We sat at a circular table for a part of 6 on the first floor. It felt really nice and intimate and you can watch the game on the TV screen as well... They were warm (not hot) and it was difficult to get any meat off of them. I rarely ask for something to be sent back but especially for the price point here, these were not OK. We let them know that they were undercooked. The chokes were gone for a while and when they came back they were slightly better so we just made due and realized that they just weren't very good artichokes. Also, though the heart was good, the flavor of the leaves was not great and the dipping sauce was nothing special. They were covered with diced onions for some reason. When it's $21 for three halves, it was very disappointing.

For appetizer, we really enjoyed the Chicken Liver Mousse. The house-made seasonal jam is so good (we just had strawberry) and pairs really well with the mousse. For brunch, we got the Grass-fed Hangar Steak Breakfast Plate which is an elevated version of your typical breakfast staples. Amazing flavor and they cook the steak perfectly every time. We also tried one of their seasonal desserts and it is a must-have. I forgot the name, but it was a melon sorbet paired with fresh mangoes, coconut milk, and sago. Super unique and refreshing. Highly recommend this place if you are looking for an upscale restaurant with a casual feel. Service is amazing, especially if you have Kai. We look forward to visiting again soon to try their dinner menu.

I've heard some good things about this place and from other fellow yelpers friends, it must be…read moreworth it. Had a dinner reservation with some girlfriends celebrating two of their birthdays. The restaurant itself isn't too big but it does a pack a nice punch. Cute patio out front that takes some of the sidewalks and streets. Plenty of heat lamps which helped with the chilly nights. We got seated at one of the tables on the patios which was nice. Didn't really utilize inside area except for the restroom which it's quite cute in there. The rooms were pretty well decorated and executed. Nice bar area too. Like mentioned, we got seated on the patio and the heat lamps were great. Down to the menus, it's quite limited on dishes. Seemed like there were more shared plates versus the entrees. Drinks, it was fairly decent with their cocktails and wine. Service at the beginning was great. The staff were amazing and very friendly. We didn't order right away as we were still waiting for the last one to show. But did start off with some drinks. It didn't take that long for the first round which was nice. Food wise, the shared plate was a mixture of everything. Some of the olives, which is exactly what it is. The Belgian fries, nice thick cut fries with shredded pecorino cheese and a nice aioli sauce. We ended up getting a second order of it. The albacore tuna crudo was a hit which was really tasty. Chili ginger relish, mint and shallot, can't go wrong with that. Lastly the meatballs, tasty and very great for sharing. Entrees, the pan seared sea bass which I loved. Portion is pretty tiny which also seemed like they were a shared plate. Almost tapas styled. Nice chimichurri sauce and a side salad. The chicken Milanese also with a side salad of arugula. Simple dish but quite tasty. One of the salads that was somewhat hyped up by the waitress but it was just a salad. Decent but nothing major to rave about...lol... also the confit oyster mushrooms was major hit. Something that simple but quite tasty. And lastly the pan con tomate, rustic sourdough with tomatoes and burrata. Tasty as well. Overall the meal was good. From there, the second round of drinks did take a long time to arrive and with then plates that we shared, trying to get someone to clear the plates was another thing. Took a long for someone to clear the table before more items came. Even when the entrees came, all the empty starter plates were still there. And if someone did clear the plates, some was still left on the table. Finishing off the night, we did have the dessert which we tried all three. As it was two of our girlfriends birthday, they brought out a little bubbly for us to celebrate with the dessert. That was quite sweet and nice. Honestly opinion with the dessert, they were just ok. Nothing major to rave about. We tried all three on the menu and they were just ok. Overall, the food was great. Service was nice and the staffs were all very friendly. It did take a while for plates to get cleared from the table and second round did take a while, but it was manageable. It was a sweet gesture with the bubbly with the dessert which was greatly appreciated. The place is nice and great for catching up. Menu is limited and portions are quite small. You would have to get a good amount for sharing. Entrees, depending on what you order is small as well. But we enjoyed ourself.

Would it kill them to add a veggie burger? Service is consistently awful. I've been here half a dozen times and I've never had good service. Drinks and water are never refilled unless I ask. It takes forever to get our order and once we do our server disappears. Seriously so bad. But I keep coming back for their good food.
