Went with my daughter for lunch. I hit the tropical chicken salad. It had grilled and pineapple glazed chicken, glazed pecans, little orange slices and a ginger sauce. It was so delicious. And it was a very large salad. I will definitely go back for this again. My daughter got the Cobb chicken salad. She said it was really delicious. Service was great as usual. It was very clean and quiet considering there were a lot of people there. We will definitely go back. Was a wonderful meal and excellent service. This was so good. Lobster Bomb. This was delicious. Lobster and shrimp in a tasty bisque. In a bread bowl. So much seafood in it. It came with a side salad. $40 and worth it. For me, the bread bowl was tasty too but too much for me. I will definitely order it again when I visit, without the bread bowl. Service was great too. For those who are studying, there is free Wi-Fi so Get in before the evening dinner crowd for a good study spot where you can eat and drink without being rushed. read more

True Score: 3.5 Stars This restaurant is a little hidden gem. Especially for being in an old mall with nothing really except Stop & Shop. Was meeting friends at a 1/2 way mark. The Reuben was made to perfection! The fries were crunchy and delicious. My other friends thought everything was delicious, the bacon burger and chicken tenders. Also the service was excellent which is a real plus. Great place for lunch or dinner. The only drawback is the place is in a desolate strip mall behind a Chili's. Went here with wife to watch the UConn/Seton Hall game today at noon. We were only 2 people in the place. No TVs with UConn game. Asked if 2 TVs could show game so all of us would have a good view from bar. Bartender said only one game per TV. When the rest of the crew arrived we left and watched game at Mohegan Sun. Good time. We stopped in Friday for an early Valentine's Day dinner. My husband ordered the 16 ounce Rib Eye medium & I ordered the Pot Roast Dinner,which I had ordered before & it was delicious. Not this night. My husband's Rib Eye was raw,but his fries were delicious. The Pot Roast is advertised as " fork tender" but the dinner that I received was overcooked,thin slices smothered with gravy. I tried to eat it but it was extremely dry. I sent it back & finally received another plate of pot roast. This time,there was a large amount of gray,thinly sliced,extremely dried, what I assume was the pot roast,this time with no gravy. It was disgusting!!! At least they tried to cover the pot roast with a lot of gravy on the first dinner,so it looked edible. I told the waiter when he asked how my dinner was that it was inedible. We finished & were waiting for our bill. When the waiter came & gave us our bill,my husband questioned him about being charged for two meals because I had made it known that I wasn't going to eat that pot roast. He said that is what the manager said to charge us & I called "Bullshit" & said that we would never be coming back to their restaurant. The waiter told the manager & he took a whole $10 off of our bill. They lost two good customers that evening!!! I was angry with myself for not taking a picture of that pathetic looking Pot Roast!!! Place is nice and clean dining area is separated from the bar with no TV's in this area. Service was excellent great recommendations from our waitress. We both had soup got appetizers she had the Chicken Noodle and as you can see from the picture it was overflowing g and tasted great. One recommendation would be to cut the potatoes a little smaller. I had the clam chowder and it was very good. My wife had the Chicken Pot Pie and she loved it. Her remarks is if the crust is good then you have a great Pot Pie. Not sure what happened to this restaurant..they used to have great food..I was back in town with some co workers .. sadly to say the food was horrible..(see photos)..paid over $57.00 . The prime salad came w/mo beef& was soggy & stale w/brown spots , indication of stale..not sure if it was washed either..threw it in the trash didn't want to risk getting sick..coleslaw stale as well well the rest of the meal straight to the trash..establishment doesn't seem like it takes pride in their food any longer.. it's a shame it used to be a great restaurant.. not venturing any time soon.. wouldn't recommend either.. read more

Pleasant restaurant tucked away in the corner. When I walked in there was a noticeable delay before I was acknowledged, but otherwise I found the service pleasant and mostly attentive. Ambiance wise, it's comfortable and split in half between the bar area and eating area. You're probably fitting max 40 people in the eating area, probably not great for large groups unless you reserve the entire space. I got sesame ginger wings and a seafood bomb, and an iced tea, for $57. The wings were plump, juicy, and great tasting. The bomb was 6 oz of lobster meat and 8 oz of shrimp, then ladled with plenty of bisque in a bread bowl. The only negative thing I'd say is the alcohol/dairy ratio was slightly off in the alcohol direction. Overall a good visit. Knocked one star off for the specials board not being up to date, nor available inside as a additional menu insert, or from the waitress without asking specifics off it. Price can't be overlooked. $4 for iced tea, meh. $10 for the wings, great. Which means we slip a nearly $40 entree on the specials board with no price and let people find out come bill time. read more

First of all the other reviews here and elsewhere are accurate with their suggestions. We had a lunch meet up for the holiday season and chose here as an intermediary place. Let's begin- French onion soup was excellent. I saw it in another review and tried it. The burgers were great. Hit the spot. It is hard to mess up a burger and they do not. In a few places the fries were mentioned. These were excellent. The wait staff was top notch too, with spectacular service. This definitely adds to the enjoyment of a restaurant experience. The location fits the name "town grill". I love finding local gems. This is definitely one for Norwichtown. So if you're in the 395/route 2 intersection area of Connecticut - short distance from both casinos- this place will surprise you! read more

if you're craving classic Americana style food this is the place! First off our waitress was Leslie and she was absolutely fantastic, as far as the food goes both me and my wife cleared the plates. I ordered the meatloaf with green beans, meatloaf had great flavor do you want any dessert? No, thank you just (gravy was a touch salty but still vey good). my wife on the other hand, had one of the best pot pies she said she's ever had and I have to say that I totally agree... Received the teeniest, tiniest pour in a snifter glass. At least it was only $8.50. Remember when $8.50 was expensive for a pour of Jamo? Well, now it's cheap. So at least there's that. **We started with a large party at a table of 14 or so, & our party continued to gradually grow until we filled up 3 booths as well. Our server didn't miss a beat! She managed to still tend to every single person & get us all fed. Shout out to her. ***I ordered a chicken caesar salad, & it was okay. It was $17 (more than any of the burgers on the menu) for mostly just a pile of romaine lettuce with the smallest piece of chicken. The chicken was very dry. I didn't understand the price to quality ratio, especially after looking around at all the stellar burgers at my table. I ate about half of the fries off of my partner's plate & half of the green beans off my friend's plate. Amazing fries. Really good green beans. Overall, a decent time out. Should be a sandwich shop. This place is struggling. Burgers were dry and crumbly. Black and bleu burger the onion on burger was inedible, rather chewy, there was a sparse amount of bleu cheese and it wasn't melted. The nachos were a sad state of affairs. They had no flavor whatsoever. They use some kind of canned cheese, like gas station nachos. It was wretched and overpriced for the quality. Then sprinkle chopped tomatoes and about 8 pieces of chopped scallion and a couple jalepeno. Patty Melt was also dry and crumbly, was oozing with grease. The Reuben sandwich however, was phenomenal. They need to simplify the menu and do mostly pub food because that Reuben was out of this world. read more

Visiting from NY and heard a few locals recommend this place. Came in with my 3 kids and parents. Had a great time, fantastic clam chowder ( so good my baby girl devoured half of grandma's soup ). I enjoyed the meatloaf I got for my kids (but parents did not since it had rosemary). The coconut shrimp and the clam bellies were delicious and my kids enjoyed the kid pizza. The server was a lovely woman who was also patient with my baby who wanted to keep the menu (she just likes holding things). I can't wait to go back. read more

We stopped here one evening while we were camping nearby. I had found it on yelp and it had good reviews and they were well deserved. We were seated and got a lovely window seat where I felt safe. Mike ordered the shrimp cocktail while he was still reading the menu and making his main dish choice. Nice and fresh. I had a lovely cocktail and Mike had a beer that he enjoyed. The server that we had was the daughter of the owner and she was delightful. A lovely young woman who really knew her stuff and had great plans for her future. It was very refreshing to see someone of her age looking ahead and planning well. Mike had prime rib which he absolutely loved. I had the baked scallops. They were fresh and sweet and delicious. My local go to Pub while I'm in town, and as always I will have something to eat. The first night I had the cold lobster salad roll which has always was perfection. And the next two occasions I had the fried clam strips which were crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside. Again another 10. We happen to come across this place one evening while out doing errands. it certainly was a great find, the staff was so friendly and helpful from the moment we walked in the door to when we left. The menu has a really good selection and something for everybody but not so large that it gets you confused. The seafood was extremely fresh and delicious. Also nicely decorated and very clean. I met a friend here for dinner & was pleasantly surprised. It doesn't look like much outside & it is on the smaller side inside but the food was really good. I had the cheeseburger & added bacon with fries & my friend had the baked scrod with red potatoes & tater tots. The tots were delicious! The fries were nice & potatoey! Our server Christine was awesome but I felt bad for her because she was bartending & waiting tables & there was only one other server on & it was packed in the restaurant so they were running around like crazy trying to wait on everyone. we are regulars at this location. we were intrigued by the specials, one of which was a crab cake appetizer. unfortunately when we got the bill, we were charged $28.99. we immediately asked the server, who explained that was correct. she also told us the dinner was actually $31.99! I certainly didn't like being blindsided by the appetizer cost, especially when the most expensive appetizer was $19. I thought it was a poor method of discovery. This place is really a 2.5. Stopped in because of the good reviews and were instantly greeted and seated (granted there wasn't another soul in sight). The inside is absolutely beautiful and Mike (i think) our waiter was top notch. We weren't read the specials like the table that came in after us which was fine, wasn't anything we would've ordered anyways. When it comes to the food let's just start by saying this: PRICEY! I ordered onion rings and my mom ordered french onion soup. Both were delicious and would recommend. Onion rings were $9.99 and french onion soup $6.99. I ordered the Yuengling Fish n Chips which cost $16. Fries were good but the fish was just ok. I don't think the Yuengling batter worked well. The coleslaw and tartar was bland. My mom for the veggie burger ($12) which was "fine" but she never got her fries. (which Mike our waiter acknowledged and got us them to go). All in all I would probably not come back due to the prices. If you're going to set the prices high at least make it worth it. I can get better fish & chips for cheaper at Big Y. Horrible meal, very disappointed. My Surf & Turf was terrible. The Prime Rib cut was a 1/8 inch cut, with boiled red potatoes and 2 sad stuffed soggy shrimp in a pool of water. Also had stuffed mushrooms and again the "seafood stuffing" was soggy, like baby food with a taste of seafood, which makes me wonder where that taste came from. Nothing seafood about it except the "taste", no seafood of any kind. With the lobster bomb reviews being so good we thought, let's try it, nope, it bombed alright. Do we mention that the Reuben we ordered was dry as leather and the shrimp scampi was over cooked . Huge disappointment considering we ordered 3 entrees and an appetizer only to have them all "bomb". Excellent burger! It was just what I was craving. Friendly, attentive staff and relaxed atmosphere.

We have visited twice. The restaurant is clean and nicely decorated. The same waitress we had both times was fast and friendly made you feel at home. The food was great. First time we had coconut shrimp and clam chowder. The shrimp were cooked to perfection and the chowder was hearty and flavorful. My mom had the fresh fried clams and she said they were the best she's had. The second time we tried the Caesar salad with grilled chicken. Again huge portions the chicken was delicious and tender the salad was fresh and dressed perfectly. We will happily eat there again soon. read more
