7/10 Mochi Barley Burst - Okay the drink is aight but what the heck are those little barley bursts? It's giving mini potato bobas. Thats the texture it seems to be! I did not like this drink at all and it could've been sweeter. My favorite part of the drink is the mochi. It tasted bomb. 6/10 Boba - Okay, I have a lot to say here. I was ordering on the iPad self-order and when I chose the Mochi Barley Burst, there was no option to add boba. So I asked the guy making the drinks where to choose it, and he said there was a button to select it. I told him no, there really wasn't, so I just typed a comment on the order to add boba. When my drink finally arrived, which took about 45 minutes, there was still no boba. I asked the same guy if he could add it, since there was no button on the iPad. He fiddled with his device while I waited, but wouldn't just give me a side of boba. I got fed up and said, please just scoop some into a cup so I can add it myself. I had something in my schedule near the area, so I decided to stop by to get boba and peruse Barnes and Nobles while here. I walked past the bookstore on my left side and went straight and to the right to find the boba place. It wasn't full of people expect for one customer. It had a clean interior and aesthetic look to it. Near the cashier, they had a bunch of cat figurine toys to suit the store name. Instead of ordering with the cashier, I decided to scroll their kiosk. They had two kiosks with descriptions of the drink on there in comparison to reading their menus and assuming what was in them. I had a difficult time choosing between drinks and toppings. I had wanted to get one for my fiancé, too, but didn't want it to go bad. The store seemed to use fresh ingredients. I opted for a biscotti jasmine milk tea with both brown sugar boba and their mochi. I decided to get two toppings since I wanted to see how good their mochi was. It took a few minutes for my drink to be ready. When I took my first sip, I shook my head in approval. The biscotti milk for top was a perfect sweetness that complimented their tea, while wasn't overly sweet. Their boba was good, chewy boba and was the right about of brown sugar flavors. Meanwhile, their mochi was chewy and gooey. Perfect with any drink. I'd say having boba with mochi was overkill but now I know which topping I'd get from now on. I was so excited to try 3CAT in Chino Hills last Saturday but when I arrived to the store, I saw two employees busy behind the counter but their order kiosk was off. Without ANY greetings the employee told me "We are closed." I looked at my watch and it said 10:56 and told her but your door was open and with an attitude she said "I told you, we are closed!". I asked her what time do you open then and she said 11:00... I told her, it was my first time there and didn't understand why the door was open if they are closed!! The only complaint I had was the time estimates were significantly off. I understand the staff was juggling numerous online orders with some in-person orders sprinkled in. Dropped by 3CAT on a Monday around 3 pm to grab a little drink while I holiday shopped & Barnes and Nobles browsed. The first thing I noticed was that the store had quite a few people in it for a weekday. Which meant this chain is quite popular & I hoped, for good reason. There were 2 ordering screens, so the line wasn't much of a wait. I love how creative the menu is and I settled on the Cheese Berry. This was a smooth, creamy smoothie with delectable and distinct layers of cheese mousse, blueberry smoothie and biscoff crumble. I'm a sucker for anything biscoff, so this caught my eye right away. The wait for the drink was around 5 minutes and the staff were pretty efficient and kind giving them out. I got a text when my order was ready, but there's also a screen updating the order statuses of different people. There isn't much seating, which is understandable for a bubble tea store in an outdoor mall. Would definitely come by again & try an osmanthus drink I was eyeing! read more

We tried the Mango Mochi milk smoothie, which was unexpectedly delicious. We'd never had anything like it before--the mochi blended perfectly with the mango and milk smoothie, adding texture without being too sticky or gummy. We also ordered the Matcha Smoothie, which had great flavor and was equally enjoyable. The shop itself is cute and quaint, with a few seats available for customers. However, the service could definitely use some improvement. Our drinks took at least 15 minutes to be ready, even though the shop was not busy at the time. The staff also felt a bit uptight about the order process. We had our husbands pick up the drinks while we stepped into another store, and even though they had the order number and our phone numbers, the staff still refused to hand over the drinks. A little more flexibility and friendliness would go a long way. Overall, the drinks are fantastic easily 5-star quality--but the long wait times and overly strict staff bring the experience down, which is why this ended up being a 3-star visit for us. LOCATION: in the Chino Hills mall, close to Color Me Mine. Parking can be tricky, but park by Barnes & Nobles for an easy walk. Out of all the 3CAT locations, the service here is pretty quick. The San Gabriel one takes a looong time. The longest I've waited was like 30 mins-- and that's after I ordered online too. I kind of wish this wasn't at the mall-- cause when it gets crowded, parking can be tricky. SERVICE: OK, this is gonna be a little weird. But all ordering is done online. My best suggestion is to order ahead-- cause the wait can vary (but this place is probably the best out of the rest). The workers here are quite busy making drinks-- so don't always expect a friendly greeting. Go in, get your drink and get out vibes. ATMOSPHERE: What atmosphere? Lol. There's a few seats here and there-- but I don't think it's a hang out spot with your loved ones. Again, go in, get your drink(s), and get out. Exactly in that order. Absolutely astounded with the expansion of 3CAT series to Chino Hills. This spot specifically is smaller than the other locations I've been to, limited seating, and no public restrooms at this location, although you can find restroom easily as it's in a outdoor shopping center. Can get super busy during peak hours but is accommodated by their two self ordering kiosks. Shop itself is very minimalist vibe but is very clean and modern style. 10/10. Staff is pretty quick with the orders but I always order on their mobile app Snackpass to get rewards. (Every 10 cups = 1 free drink of choice.) Parking here is easy, although gets busy at times all around the lot. Certain spots are paid but it's mostly free and in walking distance. I've tried most of their drinks here and it's always just super refreshing and addicting. My go to drinks are: Mochi Matcha (Highly recommend) Avomango Sweet Dew Mochi Barley Burst Osmanthus Oolong Milk Tea Jade Matcha They have seasonal drinks here which I haven't tried but definitely worth a look. read more

First time visiting this location and it's a great spot to have in Chino! Parking is convenient here, and it's located right in the middle of the outdoor mall. The ambiance is well decorated but there's not too much on the seating aspect of it so don't expect that during rush hours. The drinks that I found delightful was the mochi barley burst. The barley burst bubbles are little nice sweet flavors of barley that add some texture to your drink and the mochi / tea itself is a nice pairing with the topping. The other drinks were not as good in my opinion, with the fruit drink being basically watered down and not too flavorful / special, I wouldn't order it again. I love 3CAT. I usually get the barely mochi tea drink because it's so good, but one time I went they didn't have anymore so I got the dragon latte. It's nice, subtle. My friend god the rice frosting and that was really good, wish I got it. Super orange is delicious and I add the osmanthus tea jelly. I got some drink before and it had the chestnut boba and that was fire. First time here get the barley mochi drink. That barley boba is the best I've ever had. But, the reason I'm taking away 2 stars is because of how long it takes to get drinks. Even with ordering ahead, or ordering in person, you can expect to wait an average of 20-30 minutes. On the several times I have gone to the shop in person, there is never any place to stand and we have to wait outside or go somewhere else before the drinks are ready. SO GOOD. Ranked as one of the top 5 boba spot in LA mainly for their tea quality & drinkable mochi. First off I'm absolutely dumbfounded by JUST how good the lime explosion was. I was going to mock my non Asian friend for getting that but after trying it, it was jaw droopingly amazing. The green tea was SO well made the perfect delicious bitter of a well made tea and the lime complimented it by brightening up the drink. Would 100/100 get this again if you're not craving a milk tea. I would recommend getting a jelly or popping boba with this and now a sugared boba so as to not compromise the tea flavor since it's JUST that good. The popping boba barley milk tea was also delicious, but wow the drinkable mochi stole the show & the popping boba barley was SO well made in that it had a nice starchy consistency with a distinct popping outer jelly shell. Very well made. Would get this again but also would have the desire to try other drinks as well since both of these were such hits. The milk tea was nice but not as beautifully strong in the yummy bitter tea flavor. It was still a LOT better than places like NobleTea, Ume Tea & Teaspoon but now that I know they make great tea, I almost expected the milk tea's tea flavor to shine through more. Would 100% come back again. Probably top favorite boba place for the tea flavor and the added bonus that they serve drinkable mochi. Size = decently tall! Ba ba ba bomb. I really enjoyed the variety off drinks they offered especially because there are lots of milk tea/boba spots in the area. My sister suggested I try the mochi barely burst. Mochi bubble tea shop! Wow! I've never seen or had this in New York City or Philadelphia or Toronto and I was so excited to try this after seeing it on TikTok. It was actually very good and very different from the normal bubble tea that I would get. There's some small seats, probably up to about 8-10 people total. I visit during noonish on Thursday and it was actually pretty crowded. There was a lot of orders lined up to be fulfilled and picked up. It took a little less than 15 minutes to have our order ready but we didn't mind walking around. But our time we re-entered the shop probably had 10 to 15 people ordering/waiting for the drinks. Workers are diligent and they sometimes offer promos for Pokemon GO players ;D The mochi barley milk tea was my favorite for a while (popping barley is so good) and their milk tea taste is not bad! The mochi is pretty filling though. (Their boba isn't my favorite though.. The taste is very typical? and I think it takes away from the natural taste of their tea which they're pretty good at.) After drinking this for like half a year, I discovered that I love their Golden Amber (Oolong?) MT.. This was my go-to for a while, until the Dragon Well Tea Latte came out...
