I had a lot of little electrical problems around my 37 y.o. house--dying florescent fixtures, dead GFI plugs, etc. Rey replaced the GFI's (one was in inside GFI used outside), relocated a plug on my screen porch from inside to outside, moved an outside GFI & installed a new LED light fixture in my laundry room. All the work was done promptly, and except that everything worked again, you could not tell that any work was done. I appreciated that he cleaned up any mess that he made, even taking away the items that he removed and replaced. I bought a house built in 1956 and suffice to say, I needed some help with the electrical work. Everything was knob and tube and nothing was grounded even though there were 3-prong outlets all over the house. I also wanted some recessed lighting and ceiling fans installed. I called Rey at 3R Electric and he was on the scene quickly, at a very reasonable rate. He immediately diagnosed the electrical condition of the house with me, explaining everything every step of the way. He was very thorough and patient, and made sure I knew exactly what was going on. In the end, Rey installed recessed lighting that looks gorgeous and professional, he ran new wiring to each outlet in the house and rewired each light switch to work properly. He brought in new switches and outlets and made sure that everything matched and looks great. The ceiling fans are perfect and I even saw him cleaning up the materials and mess that was made after the fact, so you never would have even known he was there, All in all, I will definitely be calling 3R Electric again for any of my electrical needs. read more

I heard about 3R Electric through Chevrolet, since I recently got a Chevy Volt and I needed to check my electrical circuits to potentially install a fast charging station at home. There were some local electricians but since Chevrolet said they have worked with 3R before, I figured he'll be able to answer my questions pertaining to my car. When Rey showed up, he was very informative since I had a ton of questions for him and very thorough with his job. Since other electricians I had called up asked about $100 bucks for them to check my circuits, I was expecting to pay about that much but instead he thanked me for my service for being in the military and told me it was on him. We found Rey at 3R electric after some disappointing experiences with other electricians... and wow, what a difference! Rey responds quickly to calls, gives a great diagnosis, gets work done fast, charges a reasonable rate, and honors his quotes. I never thought I'd say this about a contractor, but we trust him!!! Our short sale/foreclosure home was in terrible shape, with a lot of work not done to code and a lot of mysterious malfunctions. Rey has done everything at our place from straightforward PG&E hookup installs, to re-doing improperly sized and malfunctioning circuits/outlets, to detective work on sources of stray voltage (scary!). 3R was one of the contractors recommended by a nationwide generator company, Generac. You call the company, they reach out to 3R and 3R is supposed to contact you for an appointment. Strike 1: Never got that phone call from 3R, and I had to make the first contact. Strike 2: During the appointment the verbal prices quoted were *extremely* high. Much higher than on the generator company's website. When some questions were asked the answer was that everything was more expensive in this area. Strike 3: More than a week later no written estimate was received. When questioned, I was told that he was meeting with the plumbing contractor that night and would have the estimate shortly thereafter. So now it is a month after the initial meeting and still no estimate. Why not just let us know he wasn't going to bid on the job? How much effort does it take to send a text? Overall, a disappointing experience and a complete waste of our time. read more

He came out to inspect the system and diagnose the problem in the morning. By the afternoon, he had the parts and installed them. His level of skills allowed the job to be done without disconnecting from the grid, saving time and avoiding hassles. Rey installed an electrical vehicle charging station at our house today. Everything about him and his work was excellent. He first came to our house to do a free inspection and estimation. His bid for the installation of the charging station was considerably lower then another electrician who also bid on the project. On the day of the installation he arrived promptly at the time he said he would, he did the installation quickly and professionally, and afterward he took the time to explain to my wife and I several details about the charging station and electric vehicles in general. We had been looking around for an electrician for some time. An unexpected surprised birthday gift--a hot tub necessitated the need for an electrician and a friedn suggested 3 R Electric.
