Quality/Quantity - What a cool discovery. I just bought my first pickleball set (not from here), but I still have not opened the package. Pickleball is still a cool healthier alternative to tennis. I am also getting back into tennis soon (I hope). Against my wife's wishes, I just bought 4 rackets to leave at my daughter's courts. My wife knows I "waste" money buying stuff I never use... My buddy who plays in League (not here) and who is younger than me (a day or two, lol) is really passionate about this sport. He is traveling the US just to play! I doubt that I will ever get that serious, I just want and need to exercise more, to offset my drinking and eating, lol. I will see him soon and share/discuss this place. Full bar, small kitchen/menu, etc. Self service beer taps. Very small "pro shop," merchandise, etc. Atmosphere - Cool new facility. Decent size, 28k square feet. Controlled environment. It is way too hot to be playing outside. Plenty of mall parking. Open 7 days a week, 6am to 10pm. Service - Good, welcoming. Price - $68 monthly or $672 annual membership + additional costs; see pictures or website. Expensive. Many different pricing models, see website. My husband and I played here for the first time last weekend. We played doubles with some family who'd played before and had a great time! Being new to the sport I signed up for the wrong court online "open court" but when we showed up the employee worked with us and we were able to play on a different court just with our family and not with the "open court" group where it looks like a tournament was happening. (More intense playing than we were comfortable doing). Fun to try a new sport and will be back. read more

If you're looking for a place that truly redefines disappointment, look no further than 3rd Shot Pickleball in Reno. I came in with a paddle and a dream, and left with a headache and a deep regret. The pricing? Let's just say I've had better value from vending machines. I understand this is a business but if they want to retain a loyal customer base they need to relax with how much they're trying squeeze every dollar out of their players. Here is one of many examples. It was 7:02 pm and the score for our game was 10-9. The owner came right up to our court and said "either rent this court or get off right now". I get that free play ended 2 minutes ago but come on man just let us finish 1 point.... They also save your card into their system and can basically charge it whenever they want. I've had multiple people tell me they were unknowingly charged again after going like 1 min over their allotted time. The facility is nice but the business is honestly predatory. Community opinion of management is not good and many of us will never come back. If 3rd Shot's goal was to ruin my evening, mission accomplished. read more

This is a great indoor facility with a lot to offer. They have paddle demos, snacks, and a solid selection of drinks. The courts are well maintained and clearly divided with nets, which makes for an enjoyable playing experience. There are also ping-pong tables and a small gym area in the back, perfect for passing time while waiting for a game. Open play wait times have improved significantly, and it's now easy to get on a court without a long delay. Even though open play is time-limited, it's absolutely worth it. read more

We decided to try something new & active for a fun family day out & we are so glad we chose to come here! Even though we barely knew how to play it was just fun trying all together. The staff here was so inviting & friendly. They really accommodated our large group. So about 8 months ago I got hooked on pickleball and 6 months ago my wife and I found this place and man this place is awesome! My wife and I often go to open play on Sundays and Wednesdays. The staff is super friendly and the people that play on the days we go are very welcoming and great to play with! The facility is top notch! Nets separate all the courts so you rarely have to worry about other pickleballs going on your court. They have a little practice area to warm up and a free weights area that you can use while you're there! We really like the club. It is attractive and clean and has high quality court surfaces and permanent nets. The lighting is reasonably good and the locker rooms and gym area are also very nice. The ceilings could be a bit higher, but they are still usable even if you have to limit your lob heights just a bit. It is nice they have a bar and can open a tab for you while you are there. However, be careful if you are purchasing refreshments or alcohol at the club - they will automatically add an 18% tip if you don't close your tab and select something else, even if you are just doing self-serve. This involves walking over to the screen and asking to see your tab. They will not remind you to do this and just saying goodbye and giving them their charge card back is not what is considered to be closing your tab, oddly enough. read more

I did not give this place a good review at the beginning. But the owner Will worked hard to be responsive to feedback, and now I love it there. The courts are great. Good staff, good parking, a bar that is a great place to chill after play. If you go often enough, it starts to develop a family feel. "Founding membership for $996/yr" which was pitched as having many perks has been a huge disappointment. One of the perks, unlimited free open play, has been severely limited due to how it is being scheduled by management on the calendar, while plenty of courts sit EMPTY. To play at any other time costs extra $$. In my experience the vibe has been consistently unfriendly and players do not rotate out even during open play. The facility itself is clean and the courts are well laid out. Still holding out hope that the management will listen to their members and rectify these issues. read more

I'm really happy that Reno finally has a year-round indoor facility with late hours. I can't get back to Reno from work until around 6p and thanks to this place I can still play several hours, even on weekdays. The facilities are really nice. They have court cameras so you can download your games and several lounge areas to have a drink (they have a bar), relax, and have nice chats while getting a front row seat to great games. Been playing for a couple years and wanted to work towards a better singles game. I've only had a few lessons with Nico but I am blown away at the improvement he's implemented in my game. Someone I was drilling with during a lesson put it best, "There are lots of people who are good at pickleball, but very few can effectively teach/coach it" and she couldn't have been more spot on with Nico. The guy has an eye for how to assess, identify, and fix issues through all aspects of gameplay, from swing path, to overall game strategy. Sadly, as a founding member I was told I would have unlimited play which has not been the case. The open play is very limited with early AM or very late PM to play and mostly higher level players who will not play with those who are at intermediate or below levels - they just play with their friends and don't rotate out. Very clicky with long waits unless you go with allotted timeframes for your level. In those cases, if you are lucky, to sign up before it gets full you will be able to get approx. 4-5 games in during the 2 hours you are allotted. Only 3 courts are open during those times while many open courts sit as the club would rather try and reserve those courts for those who will pay to have the courts to themselves. If I amortize the actual "free" time of play against what is open on the schedule for my level and when I can go, no membership pencils out. It is a shame as the facility is nice and those who want to play and have fun are very nice. The offers to improve your game all cost additional money to the already high membership fees. read more
