Came with friends on a Saturday evening and it was pretty busy. But we got a lane pretty quick and they had cosmic bowling going on. It cost $22 per person which includes shoe rentals and paying separately was pretty simple. Each lane has their own booth for seating but it was a little messy with trash on the floor in the seating area. 5/10/25- First time stopping in with the youngest.. He always wants to go bowling with me..but we haven't in ages.. Actually, very well designed for adults and families-. $20 an hour including shoes each- Everything is self automated- so scoring is easy- Just type in the name- Very hard to bowl with house shoes and house balls-.( have my own ball and shoes).. GSR Bowling Center has undergone a major remodel and it's a real stunner! Nicest bowling alleys in Reno? These just may be! The space is clean, bright, and fresh. There's a huge bar area as you enter with seating and screens for sports, an adjacent section for billiards, a refreshed cafe with a small menu of the expected alley foods, full pro shop for those who bowl more seriously, and 50 bowling lanes as far as the eye can see! We came on a Saturday afternoon and it was pretty quiet. When we reached the register I was initially caught off guard because they only showed pricing by the game at around $7-$9 per game, which included shoe rental, which is comparable to other lanes when you add shoe rental. Still in used to hourly rentals being the best deal on bowling with a group, and after looking at the website they do offer it but it's charged per bowler, vs per lane elsewhere. Here it's $19/hour/person or $9/game for adults, so if you're solo or a group of pros focused on the game, you might be able to make the hour work to your advantage, otherwise per game is the best route. Compare that to other places where for $20 plus $5 for shoes pp, you can put 4 bowlers on a lane and typically get through two games for only $9-$10/pp. Is the up charge worth it here? I think so, especially when you compare it to its closest competitor, Incline Bowl, which charges $75/hour. This is a nice, clean, safe and comfortable alley with new technology, bright lights, and a lot to offer. It's great for families, locals, visitors and literally anyone looking for fun. It was okay. $250 for our group to bowl for one hour and not even get to finish our game was a bummer. Definitely didn't feel worth it.

This is a full size bowling alley, including shoe rental. There are around 40 lanes. There is a full bar and food service. When your food is ready they will call your name so you and pick it up. They have happy hour from 4-7 every day. We took advantage of that and got our well drinks for 20% off or was it 30%. I can't recall exactly. Bowling is $19 per person and I'm guessing it's for an hour. I'm not sure if that includes shoe rentals. They have a discount for seniors and you can get a monthly pass for I believe $100 and it's unlimited bowling. That's a good deal being $19 a game. It really adds up if you want to bowl more than an hour and you come often. They also have 2 pool tables. They are $15 for an hour. You just need to leave your id to check it out. We opted for pool as it was cheaper and I didn't bring my own shoes and I dislike rentals. The shoes did look new from what I can see as we observed the bowlers. Most of the lanes were being used on a Sunday night around 7pm. There were a lot of families and groups. I'm really awful at pool, but it was still a lot of fun. I even won a few games. I look forward to coming back with my bowling shoes or playing pool again. I don't know if they allow smoking in the bowling alley, but there wasn't any smoke that I could tell. read more

I went to get nachos from the food stand and this small girl named Alexus, was honestly the most rude customer service ever from an employee... I am NOT a fan of the new strings system for the bowling pins. The pins do not fall as naturally as they would if they were not attached. There are many times where myself or the people around me have said "That pin would have fell if there were no strings!" Which is true! If you are a serious bowler and care about your scores, this might not be the place for you, the strings sway your results, but if you are there to have fun, it is a good time. Other than that, I do love the remodeled bowling center! It is very clean. The bar is very nice. Ordering food is easy, convenient, and tastes good! The bowling balls are always organized, and it is so easy to find the ball I need! I enjoy coming here. read more

This bowling alley is in the Grand Sierra Hotel they have 50 lanes. The prices are $16 for regular bowling and $18 for blacklight bowling which is only offered Friday through Sunday from 4 PM to midnight. The prices are for an hour per person . If you have kids under 12 years old, they get a two dollar discount also for seniors. The rental shoes are also included in the price . The shoes looked new and cleaned I have been to other bowling alley when the shoes are a lil worn . This establishment looked very clean and fairly updated or new .Since we were staying in GSR we decided to end our night with some bowling. So glad we did ! We all had a blast with the blacklight bowling ! They also have a nice bar my husband and my dad ordered margaritas . Chris was the bartender that helped us and he was very attentive and helpful. I was not sure what to order he gave me a sample of a beer before purchasing it, which was nice I ended up getting it thanks things to him, letting me try it! They also have food for purchasing. Everyone in this establishment was very nice and attentive! Jesse helped us with our shoe rental and purchasing the tickets ! Overall, this is a great option for families to have some fun bowling ! We had so much fun bowling here. Loved that they are open late. Took the kids after dinner . Was $20 per adult and $18 for kids 12 and under. Price does include shoe rental. It is a huge bowling alley. Lots of lanes which was good because we didn't have to wait for a lane. We rented 3 because there was 6 of us . We did selfie bowling. Was fun. Hated the music wish there was a jukebox so you could pay for music you like. There was two pool tables but they were closed. And there was a full bar located in the bowling center. So great! We stopped in after Valentine's day dinner around 8:00 and it was QUIET. We were kind of confused that there weren't that many people there. I always thought bowling alleys were pack jammed. We tipped our shoe guy a few bucks and asked if he could space us out a little from the lane he originally scheduled us at and the whole time we had two empty lanes on each side of us. What a kind employee! This was nice because we had a whole booth and screen to ourselves. We bowled three games in an hour and it was so much fun! Played 1 hour of bowling as it is $19 per person for adults. It was fun although people don't know how to return their balls back to where they got them from they just leave them so the next people to play on the lane has to deal with all their balls they left behind. Was able to get in 2 and 1/2 games with 2 people before the lane shut off. I will say downsize your normal size show as bowling shoes run big. GSR is my second favorite place to bowl besides High Sierra Lanes. It's HUGE and the nicest people work here. We are regulars and we always get treated amazing. Orlando in the pro shop is also extremely knowledgeable and really good at his job. It is pretty expensive but if you have a local license you get a local discount. I don't have one yet because I moved here from Utah but my boyfriend has one and all our friends do. It's string pins and those are pretty annoying at first but I realized they make me a better bowler. Come here or to Sierra Lanes. I do not recommend Coconut Bowl. read more

Rental is by lane per hour; per game is no longer available. 1 hour for 2 adults and 3 kids was $70. One of rhe kids was 4. The rental shoe slip on the lane floor causing us to lose balance several times. Finger holes in the balls were based on weight (i.e. smaller holes were in lighter balls). To get holes that fit I had to throw a 10# ball. Because of an injury I was hoping to throw an 8# ball. When our youngest rolled a soft ball that only went halfway down the lane it took about 15 minutes for staff to clear the lane. The facility wasnt full but we ended up with a large party next to us. It won't return balls or reset pins. Literally 1hr..... No thanks !!! Since the upgrade the price has skyrocketed and you can't stay long. Don't get me started on the bar..... such a joke !!! The fanciest bar upstairs is cheaper. $12.50 for 1 seltzer, and I have to set it on the floor while I bowl, because the tables are far away and staff will throw it away!! I have come here multiple times and greatly enjoyed bowling here. It's usually pretty crowded and open fairly late which is nice. I got a turkey here recently so maybe I'm bias and that's why they get 4 stars. The staff wasn't exceptional, but also didn't do anything wrong. read more

There's strong strings connected to the pins so it makes it harder to get a strike or even hit the pins down in general. Also, there were MULTIPLE times where a pin would get hit and go down but the strings would bring it right back up and not count that pin falling. I would recommend going to Round 1 or Coconut Bowl to have a great experience. Our alley was also left very dirty before we came. read more

The worst bowling alley in the Reno area. This place uses a tethered pin setting system, where the pins are connected to cables. Not only is the pin action crappy, but the cables will knock down pins for no reason. The pins will also slide without falling a lot more often than normal lanes. Bowling on these lanes is very similar to bowling on those cheesy bowling games you'll find at some arcades. I recommend going to the Coconut Bowl instead. If bowling alleys are going to put these rinky-dink systems in to save money, they should be passing the savings on to the customers as they're providing an inferior product. read more

Love the renovation - the lanes are great, the balls are situated by weight & hole size. Super convenient. Play was by the hour so it was great for my husband & I. Overall we were very pleased with this bowling alley. We made reservations ahead of time and I'm glad we did because it was busy when we got there and other people were having to wait for lanes. We were assigned a lane quickly and we're able to get started as soon as we got there. The shoes rentals seemed fairly new. The workers were all friendly and this place was very clean. Even the bathrooms were spotless! The space that you had for your lane was nice with plenty of seating. There aren't really tables near by though so we had to put our drinks on the counter behind the seating and all the workers kept thinking our drinks were trash and kept trying to clean them up. Bowling went smoothly and there were lots of options for size and weight of balls. They were very accessible and placed near the lanes. Who thought that renovations and remodeling would make a bowling center worse?! Well, it's true. What have they done with this place? I'll start with the good, because I know there are some things to note. The good: - Cleaner facility - Good customer service - We were able to reserve a lane over the phone The bad: - You can't buy games by the game anymore, you can only buy per the hour. As a true fan of bowling, I hate that. We couldn't even enjoy our game because we were rushing through to make sure we could finish as much as possible (we had 4 people and got through a game and a half). How unsatisfying to walk away from an unfinished game. - Our scores were not being properly added. We would knock pins down and get a zero score on the board. We went back in the system multiple times to manually fix it, but it is frustrating to have to do that. After multiple instances of this happening, we requested to move lanes. This continued to happen at the new lane as well. And these are supposed to be brand new?? Also, we lost time having to wait in line at the desk to request a new lane. We didn't get offered that time back that we paid for. - What happened to the music?! They used to play loud, fun music but the place was silent on a Friday night. Lights were on. Snack bar is shut down. - I saved the worst for last: WHAT HAPPENED TO THE BOWLING SHOES?! I could go on and on about how terrible it is to be offered cloth covers to go over your street shoes while bowling. You will only be offered actual bowling shoes if you are in heels. 1) How incredibly wasteful for the environment. I can't imagine how many of those they go through a day. 2) This is a lawsuit waiting to happen. I personally saw two people slip and fall while bowling because these shoe covers are so slippery. One guy next to us hurt his knee pretty badly and he and his wife walked out of the stadium immediately after he fell. I can't imagine how many people are slipping and falling on a daily basis. We wanted to do something with the kids and figured bowling at the GSR wasn't a bad idea (we did not stay at the hotel). I checked online to reserve a time slot, and it showed sold out for the day for every space available. I called and was told for that specific day, it was first come, first serve. This is where the star dock comes in, customer service. I arrived at the counter and wasn't greeted; meanwhile, the employee simply stared... I asked for a lane and was told, "we don't have anything." Okay... for the night? Sold out? "No, we just don't have a lane." Okay, should we wait around until one opens up? "Yeah, I'll let you know." It seemed like the employee was annoyed being there with little effort on employee interaction. This leads to my next issue; I assumed the amount I paid was per game, but now, reading the comments, I see it was per the hour - I wasn't told that. Other than customer service, the place needs music. I haven't been to a bowling alley where it's late in the night, a holiday at that, where music isn't on. Took the family to bowl while visiting the area. This was big alley, 50 lanes. Lanes were not as slick as I thought they'd be. I really liked the lanes. There is also a Copper Top bar and a separate snack bar. The score system was easy to set up. Not one issue with a ball being stuck or and error in scoring. Balls are typical...some with small nicks missing. It comes with territory though. Plenty to choose from. Music was pleasant and not too obnoxiously loud. It truly was a fun night. Staff was helpful and friendly. Due to pandemic you have to keep your face covering on while inside establishment. Prices are per hour, per bowler. They offer military discount. We have a fun time in Grand Sierra Resort Bowling Center. I didn't play bowling for so many years, but it brings back all the good memories from many years ago! The GSR Bowling Center is so affordable. Their regular price is only $12 per hour. This is almost the best price I have seen. The lanes are well maintained and the facility is comfortable and clean. The bowling balls are not too old. The price also included the bowling shoe rental, and the shoes are better and newer than the bowling centers I play many years ago! The attendant in the GSR Bowling Center is attentive and nice. The bar in the bowling center sells alcohol drinks only. You will have to purchase the sodas from the soda machine if you want a soda! read more

Worst experience ever. We had a group of 6 and werre given two lanes. They kept malfunctioning the whole time we had to ask for a refund since we spent the a majority of the time waiting on our lanes to be fixed. The staff were nice about it but if lanes aren't working, keep them closed. read more

Me and my husband have been coming here for about 9 years and love coming here to bowl... I even bought a ball, 2 pair of shoes and a hand rag a couple years ago and every year when we come to Reno for my husbands birthday we make a point to come to the bowling alley! Nothing but great service, food and just atmosphere. Tonight we didn't have a great experience with our lane being flawed and issues coming up but luckily because of our knowledge on bowling and issues that arise I have been able to fix the lane and pins that need to be set/reset asp scores wrong and what not but at the same time while we're on vacation I'm not getting paid to help out and work for the bowling alley taking my time out of what I paid for so it got very frustrating. The manager Martin was very kind and accommodating to the situation and went above and beyond! I honestly just wanted to close out after one hour instead of the two hours I paid for (even tho we were probably only mayb 50 minutes in the games total) in the beginning also he added a little more time for my husband to go get our ball and shoes out of the car; which was super nice and sweet of him.
