This establishment is amazing! I stopped here with my family for lunch before catching ferry to Vancouver. It was actually a best decision ever! We ordered Deluxe Beef Burger ($18.50), Clubhouse Sandwich ($16), Chicken Strips ($15.50) and a can of Coke ($3). All the food had a heart portion. They were freshly made and fries were perfectly done. We had our food with fries which also can be substituted for salad or soup. Everything was delicious. Portion was bigger than I thought it would be. Chicken strips were crispy and tender. Deluxe Burger was amazing it was loaded with different toppings including mushrooms. Clubhouse was pretty good as well. There were so much fries. We could eat fries endlessly while tummies feeling full. This restaurant really IS a hidden gem in Sidney. This was a nice little breakfast spot while in town visiting. There is certainly a wait and was told that is pretty normal. They start servicing lunch items at 11:00am. Our group had a little bit of everything and all was good. I definitely recommend here for breakfast! It is a small place but they are very efficient. Probably the best thing I had were the potatoes. I do love how they smash and fry them so there are crispy bits. The bacon was really good too! The only real negative is everything needed salt and I am not usually a salt person but dang! We came across this quaint little restaurant in Sydney and we were glad that we waited in line for breakfast! The staff were super friendly and the food was great. It was so good we didn't even take pictures of the food. It is a small spot but definitely worth the wait. Prices were fair and reasonable and food portion size was large, warm, and fresh. Pretty upset that this place did not take my dairy allergy seriously. Being allergic to dairy isn't a choice in my diet. It's also not because I feel bloated from eating it but because I do get sick. I strictly told them that I cannot have any dairy so they said ok we will remove the cheese and dressing. They did that BUT they added butter to the bread and I had not realized until I already took a bite and swallowed it. I got really sick from it. Yes, butter IS dairy, just in case the restaurant doesn't know this. If you have any dietary restrictions, this is NOT the place to go. read more

Great lil brunch cafe in the heart of Sidney. Much better than any of those chain restaurant options (nice to support local too). Arrived at about 12:30 on a Sunday and there wasn't a wait for a table (it gets line-up busy on weekend mornings). Ordered Veggie Benny served with a side of pan fries. It was homestyle tasty with fresh spinach, slices of tomato and pesto, and a good heaping of hollandaise sauce. The Grand Slam was good with your typical egg, toast, sausage and bacon. Following a recommendation from an acquaintance at the marina, we hopped across to 3rd Street Cafe as it is apparently "The best place in Sidney for breakfast". After visiting there we would agree at least that the breakfast was very good. It's busy, crowded and a little noisy. But the service is good the staff is friendly and the seating is all premium. I ordered a vegetarian breakfast complete with spuds, poached eggs, toast, avocado and a slice of fresh orange. My wife had the 222 which had eggs, sausage and pancakes. It was good and relatively inexpensive. 3rd street doesn't do specialty coffee, but their drip coffee was reasonable. All in all this is a great place to go for breakfast. read more

Barely noticeable. CONCLUSION: I walked in the rain and cold from my hotel to come here. I would do it again anytime, this place is an absolute gem. Top notch care and service, food is second to none. I never want to leave. This place is always packed with people but we randomly went on a Thursday morning around 11am and it wasn't too bad! There were a few tables available which is great because usually there is a line. Its a smallish place but they have indoor and outdoor seating. The real seller here is the eggs benny. They have a lot of different options. We decided on the crab benny and the Italiano benny. Both of which were very delicious. They also have a lot of different bread options for toast! My Dad and GF were both enamoured with the crab benny and said it was delicious. Mine was great too! The service here is really quick and the waitress we had was very friendly. Prices aren't too crazy. Sidney is a lovely little town to have a cute breakfast in. Hard to imagine there is a breakfast place in Sidney. The place was packed and we were lubky to get seats at the window bar - the kind with the stools pulled up to a window with a counter deal. It was also pretty pricey - I think my bacon, eggs, toast and hashbrowns with coffee cost me about $15 - and there were four of us! That being said, it was all REALLY good and the service was friendly and great! They have lots of eggs benedict and other fancier options - but those aren't really my cup of tea - if you will. Many may find the place cost prohibitive but I thought it was worth it. Sometimes breakfast for lunch is just what the doctor ordered and this place certainly filled the prescription. The staff are slow and seem very uncoordinated. Nobody knew whether we had been seated or had our order taken. I waited 25 mins after my food was done to just get the check let alone pay. The food wasn't spectacular and I I found an eggshell in my omelet. The potatoes were unseasoned and mushy instead of crispy. I feel like this place is for locals and locals only since the staff catered more to them than they did to me and my boyfriend. My girlfriend & I went in to have my "birthday" celebration brunch and were quickly seated when a spot opened up. Today being a holiday, they were only serving breakfast, which I ordered my favourite classic eggs benny with the hollandaise on the side. Quick service and very delicious. Wait staff were all very busy but not too busy to check in, refresh coffee and to share a chuckle. While we were eating a young father came in & was wanting to order French fries as he promised his little girl some. He told, who I assume was the owner or Manager, that all the fish & chip shops were closed, to which he replied that due to the holiday they were only serving breakfast but he said he would see what he could do (and the restaurant was lined up & busy). He quickly returned to ask if the French fries were for him (the young dad) and he said no it was for his daughter, to which he said then it was on the house! When the fries were ready, the owner/Manager took them outside to where the Dad & daughter were waiting and personally handed the large order of fries to the little girl. The food is fantastic! The eggs benny were amazing! Our favorite was the smoked salmon, but the crab cakes were a close second, and even the veggie one was pretty dang good! The eggs were cooked to order and they nailed it. The only thing that we didn't like was that the potatoes were soggy even though we asked for crispy but the rest of the food counteracted that. I love brunch so my first order of business on any holiday is to locate the best eggs benny around. Most locals will agree this is the best breakfast in Sidney and I'm very much a fan of their crab benedict and their italian benedict. The potatoes are moist and cooked perfectly, the english muffins are high quality and the eggs are cooked to order just how you ask for them. I really like their hollandaise sauce too. I've been in for breakfast 4 times in the past three weeks alone and each time had great service. The portions are on the large side so if you're a light eater you might want to team up on heavy breakfast things or plan to taking some home. I'm not usually a big fan of drip coffee but the dark roast here is fine though not really something I'd make a point of ordering. read more

Holy hell! One of the best breakfast joints I've ever eaten at. They have multiple types of eggs benedict. I got the Crabby Benny. It's eggs benedict with a crab cake on it. Delicious! Not sure what my wife's was called, but it was delicious too. We ate with some friends and we all got something different and everyone claimed theirs was the best.
