    The false advertisement

This was my second time visiting 3Seventeen, and unfortunately my experience didn't match the first. My first visit was amazing, so I came back expecting the same energy. My husband and I went on a Friday night during happy hour and tried to order the advertised $5 oxtail sliders from the flyer. That's when things went left. We were told the sliders were actually $5 each and that we had to order a minimum of three, even though none of that was written on the flyer. I asked for a manager to explain, and instead of clarity, she came over with attitude and a level-10 energy. She told me they "can't put all those details on the flyer." After going back and forth, she finally offered me one slider for $5 -- which I accepted -- but the disappointment continued. It didn't taste like oxtail at all; it was more like a chopped beef BBQ slider. We ordered the Philly cheesesteak egg rolls, and they were so cold the cheese had already hardened. My husband got the fried chicken and mac and cheese, which were actually good. We also ordered drinks, but none of the happy hour options catered to dark-liquor lovers, so we had to choose from the regular menu. The hookah was harsh, barely pullable even after changing the coal. And on top of all that, they charge 18% gratuity automatically and an additional fee just for using a card. So for one appetizer, one $5 slider, two drinks, hookah, and one entry fee -- what should've been around $100 ended up being $175. For that price, the experience should've been flawless, and it wasn't. However I will say the music is great and plenty of photo opportunities.

3Seventeen is in the old En Vain suite. It's a lounge and bar that is nicely decorated with a chill vibe. Dimmed lights, DJ on point, and hot fresh food options. Our server made sure that we were cool throughout the night and did not miss a beat on refills of water. Water is important. They also offered the hookah setups 3Seventeen will have brunch on Saturday and Sundays so I am going back to explore those options. The dinner options were most definitely a hit. Presentation, freshness and seasoned well how it should be. I am glad that they did not have the music blasting you out of your seats. You can still enjoy a good conversation with the person next to you without screaming while eating the delicious food. Parking is shared with our places in the parking lot however depending on when you arrive those places maybe closed. There is parking at the back of the building that looks a tad bit scary but there is a security officer roaming the parking lot. They are new and seem to working through some kinks so I can't wait to return to see how they grow. This is NOT a paid advertisement nor was I asked to come visit by the owners. I was invited for dinner and I paid for my own food however the receipt tape ran out on the print and I did not want to wait on a reprint.

The food is very delicious. I gave you a nine out of 10. Your dreams can be a little stronger. The service is very good and quick. I will definitely come back again.

Sweet Spice Jumbo Shrimp finger licking good

I booked a section for my birthday, it was my first time there. The atmosphere was everything! Chill, grown, clean, laid back spot. Server was so sweet and constantly checking on us. The food was SO GOOD. We ordered a few things and nothing was a disappointment. The southwest eggs rolls, Philly cheese steak eggs rolls (huge), jumbo fried shrimp (they're really jumbo) greens, yams, (my cousin smashed that blackened fish plate lol) baby EVERYTHING WAS BUSSIN! And not to mention it was fresh. I had a side car like I ain't never had before. I had a great time and will be back just for the food alone.

Went for the crawfish special, a party of one. Sat down and the table was pushed up against me. I could barely sit in the booth. Not sure if the booth is for a child or someone that weights 95lbs. The crawfish were very small and no way did I get the 5 lbs I paid for. There was about 1.5 of water in the bottom of the tray. They only offer bottled water. My bill was $41 for $2.99 x5. =$14.95 plus one margarita which was $12.00 and one bottle of water. The math just wasn't mathing. But considering they sat me at the table they did, pretty sure they really could care less.

    Burnt wings

I decided to take a chance on this new establishment, I wasn't impressed. I ordered wings and a waffle. I wanted my wings extra crispy (extra charge), but instead my wings were burnt. The service extremely slow, even though there were only a handful of people there. I wouldn't recommend this establishment at at. Why would I request for you all to remake the wings, when it took an hour to get them????

catfish and waffles where delicious and the mimosa was good as well....

Drink and food was real good but service is slow but would recommend to others, would go back just wish it's faster service

Nothing special $60 oxtails and waiter picking their teeth with a toothpick! You can't make this up!

Unprofessional staff! The waiter was picking his teeth with a toothpick. $60 oxtails

Great night for good food and fun!

"Celebrating Mama Bear" 04-18-26…read more My family and I visited Cutten Kitchen together for the first time, and we absolutely loved it. My eldest sister was the one who searched for places to celebrate our mother's birthday, and she definitely picked a winner. She felt like this would have been a restaurant our mom would have truly enjoyed if she were still here on this earth, and she got it right. Let me count the reasons why Mama would have loved this restaurant: the aesthetics, the well-seasoned food, the lively vibe, the soulful energy of the atmosphere, and the wonderful customer service. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the hostess, Victoria, whose professionalism and mannerisms were spot on. She was so friendly and welcoming. She held the door open for us when we entered, and she even held it open again when we left. Our server, Daniella, matched that same level of professionalism. She was not intimidated or nervous by our group at all. She greeted us warmly, introduced herself, and took our drink and appetizer orders with ease and confidence, which let me know she knew exactly what she was doing. She also offered great drink suggestions that we really enjoyed. I do not want to bore you with a long, drawn-out review, so I'll keep this part simple. The atmosphere is welcoming, with music playing at a nice medium volume through the overhead speakers. The dining room is extremely spacious and clean. Food Ratings: Fried Catfish/Shrimp Platter - 4/5 Both were fried to perfection, with nice crunchy edges and a soft, succulent, meaty texture inside. However, it was a bit too salty for my health. Fried Fish and Grits Platter - 5/5 My younger sister said she could taste the authenticity of Black culture in the well-seasoned grits and she enjoyed them. The CK Burger - 5/5 My son said this burger was delicious, and he tore it up too! The CK Patty Melt - 5/5 My eldest sister said it was delicious and felt like it melted in her mouth with every bite. Salmon Bites Appetizer - 5/5 Fried to perfection and surprisingly not too salty. Fried Plain Wings/Lemon Pepper Wings/French Fries - 5/5 Everything was served piping hot and extra crispy. Deviled Eggs Appetizer - 5/5 Everyone around the table loved these babies. My eldest sister said she did not care too much for the fried chicken tender on top, but overall, they were still a hit. Dirty Rice - 1/5 Too salty and too greasy for my liking. It also lacked the authenticity I was hoping for. Mac and Cheese - 5/5 According to my daughter, the mac and cheese was a 5/5. However, it did have a spicy kick, so my son gave it a 4/5. If you like spicy mac and cheese, then you will probably love theirs. Collard Greens - 5/5 This item stole the show for me. The collard greens were delicious, not too salty, and seasoned just right. Here's the shocker: instead of using pork in their collards, they used turkey neck. I was genuinely impressed because a lot of people believe pork is the only way to get that deep, flavorful taste in greens, but Cutten Kitchen proved otherwise. Blueberry Lemon Drop - 5/5 This drink may seem girlie, but it hit like a man. Sitting Sideways Cocktail - 5/5 This one hits just right and gives you a nice little buzz. Pineapple Upside Down Crown - 4/5 It was a little too sweet and did not have enough liquor for me, but it was still delicious after I poured an extra shot of Crown in it. Overall, Cutten Kitchen is an upbeat, lively, and soulful establishment that offers some of the best Southern cuisine in the area. I highly recommend this place if you love authentic soul food, great customer service, and a vibrant atmosphere. FYI: Parking is plentiful, but it would probably be best to make a reservation beforehand. I have heard this place can get packed.

She was pleasant and did her best, but it took a very long time for her to take our order, and the food took an equally long time to arrive. As for the food, it was a mixed experience. The lamb chops were actually very good and were probably the highlight of the meal. However, everything else fell short. The salmon bites were disappointing, and overall the food seemed to be lacking seasoning and flavor. The cornbread was another letdown. The only sweetness came from the glaze on top--the actual cornbread itself tasted more like a plain muffin with no sweetness or flavor of its own. I ordered the breakfast sampler with grits and eggs, but the grits that were served were heavily seasoned, dark Cajun-style grits rather than the traditional white grits most people expect with a breakfast plate. When I asked about it, I was told that's the only type of grits they serve. If that's the case, there should be a disclaimer on the menu because "grits and eggs" typically implies traditional breakfast grits, not the style usually served alongside dishes like shrimp and grits or catfish and grits. My husband ordered the lamb chops and eggs, my son had the chicken and waffles, and we also shared the salmon bites and cornbread. Unfortunately, aside from the lamb chops, nothing really stood out in a positive way. Considering the amount we spent, I left disappointed. While the staff was friendly and doing their best under the circumstances, the long wait times and lack of flavor in most of the food made the experience underwhelming. I would not return.

It was my birthday but I had a funeral to attend that afternoon. On this particular day, it also was raining, HORRIBLY, so I was really doubting that I would get a chance to do something later, but I decided to see how far Quotes was from the service. Depending on what time we got out, if there wasn't a repase, AND the weather giving me some grace, I would stop by for an early birthday dinner. Thankfully, Mother Nature gave me a break and let me and my Mom enjoy a nice late lunch at Quotes, which not only had delicious food but exceptional customer service. Soon as we came to the front door, it was opened for us to step inside. We were greeted and shown where we could keep our umbrellas if we felt comfortable leaving at the front door. The hostess lead us to a table and asked if the location was okay. Once more, when our servers, Diamond and Ty, came to our table for our drink orders, I was asked if we were celebrating anything. I mentioned my birthday and was later on surprised by a slice of cheesecake. I didn't have the space to even eat it because I was fat full from the food and drinks I had before dessert arrived! First off, we came at a great time because we were able to try their entrees at a discounted price. Even the drinks are discounted during the lunch hour except their signature and customer fav, the lemon drop, with good reason! The flair that it is presented to you is phenomonal, but the taste is exquisite. It was so smooth I had to slow down from drinking it. I'm usually not too big into drinking more than one drink, but it was my birthday and the drink was GOOD, so another round had to be had! I even tasted my Mom's drink to see if there was something else I should try. I ended up sticking with my Lemon drop and the second one did not disappoint. As far as the food, I did ask for suggestions on a few entrees. I ended up getting the fried catfish and grits while Mom ordered the shrimp tacos with a side of asparagus. Although Mom raved about her tacos and even stated she wish she could make them at home, the asparagus was salty to us. We did send it back and in response, Chef Trini came out personally to ensure the second make was to our liking, indicating that the blackened seasoning would be available on the side. Please tell Chef Trini that this was the best asparagus I EVER tasted. It was cooked to perfection and no seasoning what so ever needs to camofluage the fineese that Chef cooked it with. My entree was also delectable and delicious with the marriage of fried catfish and grits smoothered with creole crawfish sauce (say that three times)! I love my catfish fried hard and not salted to death. Quotes presented both and it intermingled with the grits graciously. I couldn't eat the entire entree because 1. It was a big portion and 2. We had enjoyed an appetizer, the spinach dip and cauliflower garlic bread. It is a MUST to have! We are spinach dip fans and Quotes not only has one of the best Spinach Dips I tasted in a long time, but the creativity of making cauiflower garlic bread is chef's kiss. You would not even think you were eating cauliflower. It minds me more of pita bread versus tradional thick garlic bread but the flavor is there and compliments nicely with the spinach dip. Both the appetizer and my entree not only made great evening and next day breakfast meals but tasted even better later and the next day. That's when you KNOW you've eaten some good food- it taste even better later. Even the bday cheesecake was insanely epic the next day. I can't say enough about Quotes. Great service and food as well as beautifully decorated space that truly leaves you inspired. Thank you Quotes- I will be back!
