I went with the catfish po'boy with fries, and since it was happy hour, I grabbed the small box which came with seafood fried rice and five large peeled shrimp for $7. The setup is pretty standard for this kind of spot. You order at the counter and wait for your number to be called. The service was quick and the staff was friendly, so no complaints there. The food definitely packed some flavor and spice. The catfish po'boy was solid, with a good balance of crunch and tenderness. The fries were crispy and a good complement to the sandwich. The seafood fried rice was flavorful, and the shrimp were nice and large, cooked just right. Overall, it was a good meal. Nothing mind-blowing, but it definitely hit the spot. I was in the mood for gumbo and seafood so we decided to give this place a try. Of all the food we ordered, the standouts were the crawfish boudin link, lobster dynamite and 9 shrimps and oysters. The gumbo was ok but I had taste for a different rue so it didn't hit the spot like I wanted. The seafood fried rice was good and reheated nicely. My companion also enjoyed his wings. We ordered online and our order was reafy when I arrived and everything was in tje bag. Staff was friendly and I would try this place again. One thing that was confusing was that some of our boxes had holes in them. I don't know it it was intentional for venting the food or if they were just damaged because not every box had a hole. This whole thing was seven bucks so I'm not complaining. I couldn't finish it all. I was expecting more spice for Cajun food but they batter their fish well, with crispy cornmeal. Even the fries are super crispy. It's cheap and right by the skate park. They clearly have a bunch of regulars here which is cool. I came for dinner last night and got 4IBS of crawfish with potatoes,eggs, sausage and Spicy corn. The food was hot and super fresh! I had mango boba slushy as well that's super yummy! Service was good at checkout while ordering. I can say once you sit down no servers/ workers will ask how are things going. It can get pretty packed fast! They have great prices on seafood! Parking is not bad but the parking lot can get pretty packed. While eating a gentleman came in screaming at customers and going to random tables and messing with the workers. Sit down I don't know what's going on. The last Boudin balls I purchased was not Boudin balls. I don't know what it was, but it wasn't Boudin. It tasted and looked like mush, meat. Ordered a strawberry mango smoothie and it made no sense how sweet it was. So sweet I couldn't even enjoy it. Seems as if they slightly fell off, got lazy, I dunno. The food is good I got a crab cake and combination shak. I has a bunch of garlic. I'm not a huge fan of garlic so I had to wash it off. The crab cake was good not as much crab as I'm used to but it was cool. Also got a strawberry mango smoothie too sweet but ppl like it like that. Reason for the three stars the service isn't great! They can definitely use more training. I with the ppl were more friendly. Also they ran out of cocktail sauce which I like with my shrimp they only have garlic butter because I asked for regular butter and they didn't have it. Nevertheless over it was a great experience. If you're looking for some good seafood that isn't going to break the bank, I'd definitely recommend this spot. Glad to see a spot like this one the north side of Houston. I ordered their 10 piece wing combo (that came with fries) half Buffalo hot, half lemon pepper hot. I also ordered the City Box (which was recommended by a person in line, who noticed me looking at the menu). The City Box comes with rice (I got it spicy) and shrimp. Just finished getting my hair re twisted and was undecided about what to eat. Seen this place nearby and decided to give it a try. As soon as I walked in the place was nice !!! There was music, a movie on the tv screen and lots of people enjoying their food. I was immediately greeted upon approaching the counter. It was very welcoming. If you are craving wings and seafood, this is the place to go! It reminds me of a boiling crab. The staff here are super efficient and friendly. You can order to go or dine in. My husband and I ordered wings and snow crab here, be sure to also order a side of Cajun fries to pair with your entree. They also have smoothies here! The sauce they use to boil their crab in is super garlicky, and buttery - just my kind of flavoring. Now if you need butter dipping sauce, they have it! It's 50 cents extra, but worth it. The fried rice was really good. I love that I get to choose if I want egg and vegetables. I don't like peas, so I marked no vegetables, and it turned out good. The regular size is a serving for 2. Tried a few things as usual when I check out a new spot, which were the peeled shrimp (1lb), seafood fried rice, turkey necks, melon and green apple slushy and a strawberry banana smoothie. Eeeeverything was good. I love how they offer the peeled AND deveined shrimp option. The seafood fried rice (lg) was definitely a huge size portion - shared it with two others & still had leftovers. The shrimp had just the right amount of kick to it and lots of garlic (I love garlic), and the turkey necks -OMG, fall off the bone goodness. I like that it had similar seasonings like the peeled shrimp but slightly different. They were nice size pieces as well. The slushy & smoothie were a hit too; they were so refreshing. We've visited this location multiple times and have had the same issue each time. The food is great, service is slow. Luckily they have great tasting food. I was a little disappointed in their "non-fried" food options as my taste buds were craving non fried Cajun food other than crawfish. We found cajun city on a yelp whim and although we went in about an hour or so before closing our food was still fresh and made to order. My husband did not finish it it is very filling good for another meal tomorrow. You can choose different flavors for the wings. He got half mango habenero and half original. Both were delicious. Mango habenero is the right amount of spicy with lots of flavor. Came with ketchup packets, ranch, silverware, and napkins. I got the combination snack not peeled. It was 27.99. Worth it. I almost finished everything but man. Delicious! The mild is pretty spicy to me but not overwhelming if you know you're not good with spicy food just order mild. Lots of garlic and sauce included in a bag. It had crab legs, shrimp, corn, and potatoes. And trust me it is MORE THAN enough. Came with a orange yellowish sauce. I didn't like that sauce. I got the extra Hot, extra garlic with extra sauce Turkey necks and they were absolutely good ( 9 out of 10) and the spiciness makes it a (10) I got 1lb. Of the Hot with extra sauce shrimp (9.5 out of 10) they were nice, juicy,big shrimps too. I got 6 hot with extra garlic potatoes for my husband (10 out of 10) he says they were perfectly cooked and very well seasoned and delicious and I got 2lbs. Of crawfish to try them for the first time from here. I have my usual place for crawfish already but I had to try Cajun city's because they had crawfish (7 out of 10) they could have been cooked a little more some were still not red yet! I got home and steamed the crawfish with the sauce from the shrimp and potatoes and popped in my own corn and we had a go at it. I recommend this place customer service friendly and the wait is not long even though their business is endless people in and out and dining area as well. Conveniently right off 45 and Rankin rd. Only downfall is the turkey neck is a lil salty but I'll still order it again just would ask for plain one instead. It was enough food to share. I can't wait to go back again and try more items!!
