This morning I woke up to a flat tire. I ended up going here after going to my local tire shop. 4 G's fixed my tire in less than 15 minutes and I was out of there. Thank you guys. The other tire shop I went to before said that the nail was too close to the edge, and that they couldn't fix it --just trying to make an extra buck by selling a new tire. Took my 2008 Dodge Charger in for a check engine light. The team was super friendly and asked me to bring it back the next morning for a better look. While I was there, they noticed a badly worn tire and replaced it quickly and easily. Dropped the car off the next day and a few hours later, they called to say it was ready. They fixed a minor issue and didn't even charge me--just asked me to drive it and see if the check engine light came back on. A week later, no issues at all! Car was rattling badly after I bumped into a curb. They said the rattling was caused by worn engine mounts (normal wear and tear) and then gaslit me when I explained that didn't makes sense, since it only started after I hit the curb. They eventually convinced me to replace the engine mounts for $600. That didn't fix it at all. I took it to a different mechanic who moved the muffler in place in 20 minutes and fixed the rattling for $40. Even worse, 4G's used cheap engine mounts so now theres a new different rattle. They even tried to convince me to change my oil when it was 70% full... They've usually been good in the past but this was really disappointing. read more

I came here for an oil change and it was quick and easy to drop it off. I ask the man there to check my car because there was a rattling noise and he said he will! I wasn't worried as every place has the inspection included when you get an oil change. I come back later to pick my car up and they don't mention anything, just give me the keys. I ask them if they checked my car and they said everything was fine. However, the rattling noise was still there before I even left the parking lot. So I went to another mechanic in the area, they told me there was a several pieces broken that holds up my suspension! And my brakes needed to be replaced asap as well. I don't know how a mechanic misses all that in a inspection.. I am grateful they did though as my roommate got her brakes done here and they had to redo it somewhere else because they used cheap parts that caused ridges on her brake pads. I would definitely not recommend for anything other than an oil change. read more

Walked in here last minute for an oil change without an appointment and was pleasantly surprised that unlike other auto repair stores in the area, 4G had the synthetic oil that my 2015 hybrid Sonata needed. Not only that, they made sure I was taken care of right away and I was good to go in 20 minutes. Customer service is just straight out bad. I understand business is business but they were never clear on EXACTLY what they were charging me (every time we asked, it was a different charge for certain parts). Says online that they open at 8am but really they don't seem to operate until the owner comes in at 9? So I have to wait longer, even when they're open? Go to an honest mechanic instead..unless you're down for crap service read more

German is a great mechanic, he is very trustworthy and every time i've brought my car to him he does a great job and i don't have any issues afterwards, someone recommended him to me a few years back and i brought my car to him twice (for different reasons) and i was really satisfied with his work, i lost track of him after he moved from glendale to highland park and I finally tracked him down! i brought my car in today and he did a great job again, i walked out of there super happy and his prices are fair. I really like that he shows me what the problem is and explains what he is gonna do. He does have a lot of work so you have to be patient and understand that your work might take time, if you come in a hurry then you should go somewhere else where they don't do as good of a job, good work takes time. Took my car in for new brakes they did it and the brakes were squeaking badly so I took the car back and they worked on it again and the squeaking is still there and now the brakes are making a grinding sound too. I dont even trust them to work on my car anymore gonna have to go somewhere where they actually know what they're doing. read more

Dishonest. I brought my car in for a simple oil change. They quoted $30, which seemed a bit high for a place with less overhead than other shops, including chains. They didn't write me a work slip, but I figured that's part of the "low overhead". When I picked the car up, the price changed to $40. Because my car needs "extra oil". I used to go to a family friend who happened to be a mechanic, but he always seemed to be unavailable. I went on yelp and saw that there were good reviews on 4G Auto Repair Shop. My first visit here was pleasant and I was not disappointed. He had reasonable prices as well as great customer service. In my opinion, he works fast and efficiently.
