I can barely describe how happy I am that my son recommended Menoova and Union Discount Tires to me! I had a nail in my tire. American Tire Depot said they couldn't fix it cause it was too close to the edge. They quoted me $400 for a new tire & alignment. I asked my son (a car guy) what he thought I should do. He said, "Take it to this guy Menoova at the shop down the street. They're very good and reasonable." So I did. And 20 mins and $15 later I drove off and couldn't be happier! Next, I wanted to give my daughter our old Honda Pilot but two different shops both said the terrible noise it was making and inability to be driven was because the engine was blown and would need to be replaced. Estimated cost $4400 for a used rebuilt engine. I told this to Menoova. He quoted me a good price should he need to replace the engine but he wanted to take a look at it first. The next day he calls to tell me the good news! The engine was fine. The timing belt, pulley and bearing were the problem. I told him the car was going to be a gift for my daughter's birthday so he told me all the things he'd recommend getting done before giving it to her. I couldn't believe this 134,000 8 yr old car ran so well when I went to pick it up! I wound up paying a fraction of what I expected and got a significantly safer vehicle for my daughter in the process. These guys are honest, fair, professional and expertmechanics. I'm 54 yrs old and have had a fair number of cars and experiences in repair shops and I can tell you this place is by far the best I've found to date. I highly recommend them! read more

All the good reviews were very misleading. I had a nail in my tire, so I asked to get the tire patched. Such a simple, quick repair! The guy that helped me, saw the nail, removed it, then he proceeded to tell me that my tire was fine. He kept spraying it with a squirt bottle and said there was no hole, that it wasn't leaking. After that, he suggested that he could put the tire back on and "we'll see what happens" when I questioned him, he had the nerve to ask me "are you questioning my expertise?" Umm, YES! Since he was no help at all, I took the tire to a different repair shop. The moment he put it in the water, it started bubbling up and the hole was very obvious. It was repaired in a timely manner. Not sure if Union Discount Tires doesn't have the necessary tools (shocking considering it's a repair shop and patching a tire isn't rocket science) or if the guy who "helped" me was just lazy, or maybe my little repair was too insignificant for them? What a jem tire shop! Tell me another place that can beat $60 bucks for a tire alignment? No where! No one! That's right! Located in beautiful Eagle Rock, Cali! The guys over at Union Discount are not only fair and honest, but they provide great service in a timely matter! Not like those other tire big tire companies or major car dealers that make you wait all day and then return your car 3-4 hours later for just a quick fix. For my car I called around everywhere. People where charging 20 bucks a tire to install just 4 tires lol come on now pep boys! When Menoova told me he would take care of my car and gave me a very reasonable price over the phone that made me set the appt and get there in the next couple hours, same day! I had a big job done. I needed a tune-up, 4 new tires, oil change. Their pricing was fair and their service was prompt. All in all, it came out to about $700-$800. Menoova is a personable guy; makes you feel like you've been friends for years. So I came back later for an oil change. They did it promptly and efficiently; price is about $25. Only downside: the alignment was supposed to be free with a set of tires. They supposedly did the alignment, but my car veers to the right and now it's even more noticeable to this day. I feel comfortable with this shop though, so I would still bring it back to them to look at. I'm going to trust that it's a simple fix. It's not a major lean to the right, so I am not worried.
