Just wanted to update our review that we wrote over a year ago. We have now been taking both of our dogs to 4 Paws for over 2 years. We have taken them on average 6x per year for stays that range from 2-3 days to longer stays of approx 10 days. We could not be happier with Tanner and his staff. First, let me say that when you drive up you see an old house but when you walk in the front door you notice the house is all for the dogs. The living room off to the right is filled with sofa's that are covered with easy to wash sheets and the dogs are allowed anytime to lounge on them. They have both a covered and uncovered outdoor area for the dogs to roam, get fresh air and do their business outside. Buckets of fresh water are everywhere and honestly, i've never seen dog poop where the dogs are all wandering around. Our dogs come home happy & exhausted from playing with the other dogs. 4 Paws staff have made vacationing less stressful knowing that they are so great with our dogs and our dogs love them as well. read more

I started taking Brownie to 4 Paws after realizing that he gets frustrated when his play buddies are in kennels and I started looking for a cage-free daycare near our home. From our first time there, Tanner and Ron have been wonderful with Brownie and very understanding of his high energy level. He even has a bestie there, which is super cute. The pricing is very reasonable, as well. He gets super excited when he knows it's daycare day, which speaks volumes to me. We love that he gets to be a puppy in a home-like environment. read more

Did not have the greatest experience. We boarded our dog for about a week here and had high hopes because of the reviews, but we definitely won't be taking our dog back here. First issue was they overcharged us. I sent them an email after asking about the incorrect charge and never received a response. We eventually got a refund for the additional amount charged, about 2 weeks after the initial charge.When making the arrangements to board our dog there, we set up a time with them to drop off/pick her up. When my boyfriend got there to pick her up after our trip, no one answered the door for about 30-40 minutes. When someone finally arrived, they said they had left for lunch, meaning they also left the dogs alone. Even if we hadn't set the appointment, it was during regular business hours, so it's assumed someone should have been there anyway. Once we finally got our dog, we noticed that she was acting very strange, very lethargic, not eating, and limping around a bit. We took her to the vet and she had to be put on medication for her stomach issues, put on a new diet, and couldn't go outside for about 2 weeks. And she had an infection on her foot. Before taking her here she was a very happy, healthy, high energy dog. Lastly, I packed her enough meals for the time she would be there, plus a couple extra bowls just in case. When we got her, more than half of the food was still in the container which was worrisome. When I talked with someone on the phone about all our concerns, they were not very understanding. They tried to blame us for miscommunication on when we would be dropping her off and picking her up saying we never set an appt with them, saying that they did call us about the refund request and left messages (we never got any calls or messages),and when I asked if they ever left the animals alone he said they never did and were always with the animals, even though we know they were left alone for 30+ minutes. Normally I never bother to leave reviews, especially ones this long, but I strongly advise anyone considering taking your dog here to look at other options. I'm sure some have had good experiences here, but there was nothing pleasant about ours and I hope no other pup has to go through what ours did. read more

BEWARE, little supervision, my dog was attacked and left running with other dogs while leg was ripped open and ear torn, the owner told me he ran into a fence but bite marks were all around wounds. I was told they would pay vet bills but they did not, it cost me over $1000 and lost work time. The owner refused to watch video to identify aggressive dog as my dog was still a puppy.....this daycare is a bad place to leave your dog, usually one person staff in the office with no way to monitor the video at all times and keep your dog safe. This is my third attempt to warn people but my reviews keep "disappearing" , the video at top is my boy crying after needed surgery. read more

Our most beloved Dalmation "TJ "came to 4 Paws about 4 years ago. He has now passed on but the loving care that Sherry and her staff provided was always great. TJ was an anxious dog and did bark a lot but they were always patient with him. They always provided him a warm welcome and he was happy to see them. The staff went the extra mild as he became elderly and provided him with a warm indoor couch to lie on when he was too tired to hang outside. Yes the place is not the Ritz but I was more interested in the care they provided for my beloved dog. I am grateful for their loving care and recommend them to anyone who wants a great daycare run by wonderful people who really do like dogs! read more

Our dog Suki is not crate trained and cries when in a crate out of sight of people. We've taken her once overnight and picked her up around 2 (they let me know ahead of time that picking her up after noon would also result in a daycare fee which was great to know ahead of time!) She had so much fun there that even though we were out of town and away fro her (she gets separation anxiety) she was super happy to be around people and dogs! She had lots of fun and came back tired (which is always a plus!) The staff is friendly and the dogs all seem super happy! read more

I have a rowdy dog that absolutely cannot be crated, kennels or contained. He LOVES going to 4 Paws! The cageless environment works so well for us. I have put him there for both daycare and extended one week stays. I never worry about his care. The owner, Tanner, has an obvious passion for dogs and it shows. My dog, Brody, does not do well in dog parks, but has never had any problem at 4 Paws. read more

If your dog loves to play with other dogs; loves the dog park like our border collie mix does, then this is the place! We have boarded our dog here three times and have had only great experiences. It is not a pristine dog "hotel" kind of place, it's kind of a rough and tumble dog-park kind of place. Our dog comes home completely exhausted and happy (and clean!!!). They have bathed him for us before shuttling him home! Yes, doggie drop-offs for very little extra. The owner is super nice and helpful. Our dog recognizes him and gets excited when he sees him. The price for boarding can't be beat. I totally recommend 4 paws just don't be expecting the (doggie) Ritz. read more

After looking for daycare for our two puppies we came across this place. We were excited because it was close to our home but we will never take them back! To make a long story short, one of my puppies came home with a fractured leg & had been in pain for hours! Not one single person called us to inform us of his injury & to top it off, they had no idea how it happened. The place has a bad odor & while Sherry is very nice & seemed to love our little dudes, she is over-worked & overwhelmed. She needs the support of a bigger staff! I and my little pup love this place!!! He always has a fun time when I drop him off for the day and I know he will be well taken care of when I have to board him. The owner is super nice and the concept of the boarding/daycare is awesome. Lots of room for the doggos to play indoors and out, plus instead of kennels the get to sleep in a room together in a literal dog pile. So glad my friend recommended this place to me! read more

We dropped off our mini dachshund this past weekend. It was the first time we have ever boarded him and I have no complaints! Tanner was very nice and accommodating. Our dog is 15 years old and takes medication. he's also not the most social dog and prefers to keep to himself. Needless to say, he's high maintenance. Tanner had no issues with our requests and was very understanding of our fur baby's quirks. I would recommend 4 Paws and will use them in the future! Great price too. $38 for an overnight stay. read more

I've taken my dog here twice for overnight boarding. I initially like it because they claim to not kennel the dogs so I thought my anxious dog would enjoy that better. This last time I took him to the daycare he ended up being sick with bloody, runny poo and a fever the next day. After taking him to the vet, it ended up not being anything too serious, but still, I would rather take him to a place that doesn't just throw the dogs in the backyard together 24/7 to get into whatever. We moved from Southern Ca. where the two Scottish Terriers that own us had been staying in a "luxurious" Dog Day Care since they were pups.Honestly, the Scotties loved it there but we have found that Finnegan and Murphy love it even more at Tanner's 4 Paws in Tigard. They adore the staff and actually seem much calmer since they have been coming to play and stay sometimes at 4 Paws. I was very worried about finding a place they would love but no worries! They both fight to get out of the car and get into the door to be with the other dogs and staff of 4 Paws! read more

I used to take my dog there a long time ago (she's been gone for about 8 years) so I decided to take my 8 mos old puppy here. Just didn't get a good feeling. I dropped him off for a temperment test (12 bux for two hours) and then for an overnighter the next day. Both times, they insisted on having us call them before we picked him up. That just made me uncomfortable. When we dropped him off we were asked what time we would be picking him up... we asked if it made a difference and she said no. We picked him up at 3 the next day and only then found out we had to pay an extra $21 because we didnt pick him up by noon. So, it ended up costing us $62 for one night. Could have gotten him a sweet room for the night at that price. When he got home, he was sick as a dog (ha-ha), diarrhea and anxious. We won't be taking him back. read more

I would not suggest taking your dog here for the following reasons * the 2 rooms the dogs stay in at night while boarding are very small * dishonest (my best friend who takes her very energetic dog there called and asked to board her dog and they said they are full and hung up. I called back to see if there was boarding available and there was, they lied to her b/c they did not want to take care of her dog) they told me when I was there how high energy my friends dog was and out of control. THey should have expressed that to my friend, b/c I would never take my dog somewhere he is not wanted. read more

I have been taking my dog here for over 2 1/2 years for daycare or during vacations. This is the perfect casual setting for him! Service is always great and I have never had any issues. They give him all kinds of attention and he loves it here! I don't know why I would take my pooch anywhere else! read more

we have been taking our dog here for daycare and boarding for over 12 years. it's a little out of the way for us, but he loves it! we've looked at places closer to home but they either found him "too energetic" (he's a leaper), or the staff and/or smell of disinfectant weirded him out. 4 Paws is the one and only place for him. he loves Tanar, Sherri and Crystal. he comes home tired. they have accommodated his changing needs as he has aged. the rates are very reasonable and there is someone on premises with the dogs 24/7, which gives me peace of mind knowing someone is there in case of emergency. there is at least one, and probably more, dog boarding places around town that charge a lot more but do not have staff on the premises at night. this is the doggy day care that let's a dog be a dog. I wholeheartedly recommend 4 paws. read more

I cannot express how upset I am with this facility. I recently picked my dog up from boarding at 4 Paws after a number of days. She was filthy and limping. When I asked how my dog was injured I was told they they did not know. They said she went outside and came back inside limping. They were very unkind and said that I can't recover any of my boarding cost or vet bills because I signed a waiver. I was also told, "Dogs injure themselves all the time. It could have happened anywhere." I am appalled by their insensitivity and I will NEVER take my dog there again. read more
