I'm updating my previous review because the Hideaway has added features ...now there is a roofed area where dogs can be outside but out of the rain. There are 5 acres of fun roaming space for dogs and the staff to dog ratio is high. I have a high needs setter...he needs lots and lots of exercise and socialization and he gets it here. Staff really love dogs! The owners are exceptional people. My Duffy has boarded here for long periods and I never worry about him. And, after daycare, he is much more inclined to listen and settle down. read more

Update. We are 2 months in. I was able to leave my baby home alone! No barking! I know it's because of all the independence he is learning at daycare. I also told them today about being able to leave him alone. When I went to pick him up, Gary already had heard about it and was so excited. They are so invested in my little man. I am actually tearing up realizing that I found such an amazing place. To know my dog is so loved. And they have so many dogs! But they really treat them all as individuals and love them so much. what a wonderful place for our Aussie doodle to get some safe playtime with other dogs... we like to take him weekly if possible to get some exercise... he comes home and sleeps for a day after his visit just to catch up... its really good for him. And the half day price cant be beat. I've been taking my dog Smokey here for about three years now on and off (we moved a few times) and I don't have a single thing to complain about. The workers are always lovely, my boy always comes home tired, and it's affordable. I've worked with dogs my whole life, as a trainer and at boarding facilities and no where else does it like here! I love that they get to actually be outside as much as they want, as opposed to all other local options being fake grass in a concrete room. My main concern when I was first looking for somewhere to take my boy, was safety, I am really picky with who I trust, and I'm so thankful I found somewhere that I can say I do trust them to keep him safe. Smokey loves this place so much that if I even ask him if he wants to go to daycare, he'll immediately get excited and wait at the door till i'm ready to go. Overall, no complaints from me or Smokey, and I trust these guys with watching my boy any day. read more

On Friday morning I took my puppy (Raven) out for a walk. She is a black "Golden Doodle" with paws like a bear. She was super fuzzy and needing to get her ya-yas out. I knew she had a day of pampering to come. When I got home from work I saw a puppy (in addition to our other "puppy"), but she looked much different. Her fuzz level had gone way down, her paws were neater and her ears were totally white. Turns out they had to shave her ears because the hair was so knotted. The rest of her looked like she lost 15 lbs. we even had to tighten her collar to take up the slack. We used to take our dogs to Pet Smart for baths, haircuts, and general "maintenance". We had passed the Hide-A-Way many times on 25th Ave to and from work etc. We finally decided to give it a shot. Turns out that they do an amazing job and the value as compared to Pet Smart is much better. They washed, and did the haircut. Also included is the gland expression, and mail grind. These services are all included in the price instead of being ala carte. Very happy that we decided to give this place a shot. read more

We have used their daycare/boarding for 5 years, since our dog was 16 weeks old. My dog always comes home tired and in the pictures they post on Instagram you can tell they all have so much fun exploring, playing in the creek and running all 5 acres all day. We so appreciate being recommended A Dogs Hide-a-way! It fits our pups love of the outdoors and being in good company. And our experience with the owners and staff have been genuinely good natured. Also, when our pup has stayed there for a few days overnight, they send text msg updates and a much appreciated photo. Our pup loves it so much that on route to the property he is overjoyed once he figures out where we are going, and rushes to the entry gate with tail wagging once we arrive. When I pick him up he's exhausted but content, and rests well when we get home. So far we haven't had any issues (knock on wood), which is no doubt because the staff's experience with dogs and all dogs being screened prior to their stay. Thankful for their meet-and-greet screening and expertise, as we have witnessed at dog parks highly aggressive behavior and incidents coupled with irresponsible owners that would make any pet parent extra cautious. So if you have a dog with behavioral issues like aggression, training will be need prior to visiting. The only downside for us is we notice our pup jumps up on ppl more and understandably more accustom to being off leash after his visits, so we need to focus on reinforcing his training more. It's kinda like sending your children to school, ha! Nothing is perfect, but such is Life, and we are thankful to have found a place our pup finds joy and safety. They have an instagram page so you can check on your dog throughout the day. Plus, the prices are reasonable. If I could give them more stars, I would. We discovered A Dog's Hide-away about 4 years ago and have been bringing our dog to them ever since. Our dog, Sailor, loves the place and can't wait to go in the morning. She spends 8-9 hours a day playing and running around with the other dogs and comes home happy and exhausted. The owners, Gary and Karen, are the greatest people and run a very good service. Besides them, they have staff to help monitor and care for the dogs so they are never left alone. A Dogs Hide-away is 5 acres of well maintained outdoor area with a heated building for the dogs if it's raining or cold out. There is a dog wash station inside to meet your dog's grooming needs. Gary is also a dog trainer who has helped Sailor immensely. I can't say enough good things about Gary and Karen and the excellent staff they have. We have had some emergencies where we had to leave home on short notice. Gary and Karen accommodated our needs and took Sailor in on very short notice. A dog's Hide-Away also has overnight boarding. My wife and I HIGHLY recommend them. read more

We've been coming to A Dog's Hideaway for almost 4 years now! Our boys (two doodles, Brooks and Filson) always have such a great time. The staff are all so friendly and sweet, you can tell the owners really carefully choose employees who LOVE dogs. The staff are always communicative over text and are even proactive with asking me about go home baths, etc. Just so lovely! I also deeply appreciate their social media updates on how things are going at the facility - I love watching their updates / posts on Instagram. So happy we live so close. We bring our mini Dachshund here just for grooming. She is a wired haired dachshund and needs hand stripping twice a year. So far we've had great experiences and trust they know how to properly do this not many groomers are knowledgeable about hand stripping or offer this service but Dog's hideaway saves us every time! read more

Whenever I have to leave town, I feel zero guilt because I know he is having so much fun. He comes back to me exhausted and so fulfilled - and dirty, yes, but he's a labradoodle and has shaggy hair... loves to spend his time at Hideaway in the creek so no wonder he is dirty. My dog Mali had a wonderful three day stay. From start to finish the experience was excellent. Karen was welcoming, the staff were professional and I am sure my dog had the best time, because she came home exhausted. I have been taking my dog here for over 4 years and feel like I have found the perfect daycare. Izote is a 5 year old husky who loves being outside and I have a tiny yard, so sending him to daycare a few times a week lets him get all of the time chasing squirrels, playing with other dogs, and lounging in the sun/snow/rain that he wants. I have also boarded him for longer stays and love the regular updates they share. It feels like he gets to enjoy a vacation just as much as I am. I have seen the staff interact with the dogs and can tell how well they take care of them. Any time I've needed to make last minute changes to plans, they have been accommodating and easy to reach. I can go to work with the peace of mind that Rangler is receiving the best care possible, is thoroughly enjoying his time, and will be totally worn-out when I pick him up! What sets A Dog's Hide-A-Way apart from other facilities is that Rangler is not confused about where to relieve himself, he's not expected to go on a cement floor. Everyday is a great adventure and Rangler is so excited to head there in the mornings, he starts his "happy" bark when he knows we're getting close. Cookie, my Boston Terrier puppy-dude, found an awesome doggie adventure dog park to have fun, be safe, and enjoy being a doggie to be in! This place is incredible, five acres of kennel free boarding. The couple and their staff know all the dogs names and spend their entire days with them romping through the forest, big creek, and all the cool benches, ramps, and doggie things to stand/sleep/lounge on. After being cooped up in a condo, Cookie spent the best day of his life here playing, sniffing, walking the perimeter, and boy did I feel great to give him this freedom and experience. When we tell her it's time to go to "camp" she gets super excited and will drop whatever she is doing (even if it's napping under warm blankets) and trot to the front door to wait for us. She always returns home tired and content. I wanted to find a place for my new puppy to get him groomed for the first time. I found this place and they said they offer introductory grooming for pups who have not been groomed before. As soon as I arrived, I was greeted by incredibly kind individuals. You could easily see that they truly care about each dog that comes into their place. The groomer was excellent at grooming and taking care of my pup for his first experience. They even gave him a bowtie which was ADORABLE! This is the best daycare - it's not a concrete building with turf and little space for running...it's 5 acres of freedom where they make friends and play till they drop. Up until recently, I have been an ardent supporter of this business. That was before our girl drowned while in their care on December 26th 2022. Dropping our girl off at daycare and then picking her up in a bodybag is one of the most devastating things we have ever experienced, and I hope that no one else has to go through this. To throw salt in the wound, we found out after the fact that our girl was not the first to drown in the creek, she was the second. They advertise to bring your dog to A Dog's Hideaway and go to work guilt free, but our experience has not been guilt free. My two and half year-old puppy Matilda absolutely loves this place. Tilly is a bit shy so tends to back away and sometimes bark when people try to pet her. The Hide-A-Way team have been great helping her to get past her shyness and be more open to being touched when she meets someone for the first time. They are very patient and encouraging (Tilly is being trained as a service dog), in giving me the extra time I need to ensure she is listening to me before moving her in and out of the facility. If Tessa could open the car door, she'd race in the gate without me!! She gets great care and socializes with a variety of other dogs.
