Living it up with the big dogs in the rain
    Jessica S.

Update. We are 2 months in. I was able to leave my baby home alone! No barking! I know it's because of all the independence he is learning at daycare. I also told them today about being able to leave him alone. When I went to pick him up, Gary already had heard about it and was so excited. They are so invested in my little man. I am actually tearing up realizing that I found such an amazing place. To know my dog is so loved. And they have so many dogs! But they really treat them all as individuals and love them so much. One hundred stars! Thank you guys from the bottom of my heart.

Raven had to recover after so much pampering.

On Friday morning I took my puppy (Raven) out for a walk. She is a black "Golden Doodle" with paws like a bear. She was super fuzzy and needing to get her ya-yas out. I knew she had a day of pampering to come. When I got home from work I saw a puppy (in addition to our other "puppy"), but she looked much different. Her fuzz level had gone way down, her paws were neater and her ears were totally white. Turns out they had to shave her ears because the hair was so knotted. The rest of her looked like she lost 15 lbs. we even had to tighten her collar to take up the slack. We used to take our dogs to Pet Smart for baths, haircuts, and general "maintenance". We had passed the Hide-A-Way many times on 25th Ave to and from work etc. We finally decided to give it a shot. Turns out that they do an amazing job and the value as compared to Pet Smart is much better. They washed, and did the haircut. Also included is the gland expression, and mail grind. These services are all included in the price instead of being ala carte. Very happy that we decided to give this place a shot.

We have used their daycare/boarding for 5 years, since our dog was 16 weeks old. My dog always comes home tired and in the pictures they post on Instagram you can tell they all have so much fun exploring, playing in the creek and running all 5 acres all day. My dog is always very loved and taken care of there. He gets excited when I ask if he wants to go to "school". Highly recommend their business.

After hand stripping. Shorter and manageable hair kept her beard at good length nice and neat

Do you have someone on sight 24/7 while dogs are boarding? Also, do you administer injectables (insulin). My dog has diabetes and needs insulin shots twice a day, so let me know! Thanks,…

Yes, there is someone on site 24/7. The owners stay overnight with the boarding dogs. We can support the insulin injections, not a problem.

I was afraid to leave him alone and I was at my whits end. Then Tamara saved the day. I sent my "little" anxious boy to her and he came back a big brave boy. We did a 4 week board and train with her and it was worth every penny. He is like a completely different dog now. He can relax now both inside the house as well as out on adventures now. Now every time he wants to panic, he looks to me first, and he see's that I am fine and settles right down. Honestly I have been recommending Tamara to everyone I can. She was beyond patient with both my little anxiety pup, as well as with me (texting her almost daily to check in). The fact that she made a custom training plan just around his special anxiety needs was amazing. Since he came home he has been a dream. We even did a weekend out at the beach and he came every time I called (this dog had zero recall before Tamara). Tamara still checks in to see how my pup is doing and it's that extra thoughtful layer of caring that I can honestly say I will be sending him back to her for boards as well as her amazing Trecking paws hiking club. If you are anxious yourself about getting a lending paw to help your pupper call Tamara. She is the right call to make. She takes the worry out of giving your fur baby to someone with her thoughtfulness, calm demeanor, and skill to see exactly what your dog needs.

I had met with other trainers and actually been turned away because they said they could not work with us. Bramble and I had been in conflict for about 18 months by the time we met Tamara. He was incredibly leash reactive, guarded both myself and his resources (food/his kennel), and wouldn't allow people to enter our home. He reacted with snapping and biting if asked to do anything that wasn't in his agenda (which was many things due to his anxiety). I had practiced overly gentle positive reinforcement with him and avoided situations that triggered him; instead of helping, this made his behavior far worse. Tamara clocked Bramble's issues after less than 30 minutes when they met (although she took plenty of time with us to exchange questions and get a full picture of our situation). She was confident and comfortable handling him and didn't let him bully her like he was bullying me and my partner. I could tell that Bramble responded to her handling right away as well. Bramble did 4 weeks of B&T that completely changed our lives. Tamara helped him face progressively more challenging situations to build confidence, trained fantastic recall using e-collar tone and stim, worked with his comfort being handled and groomed, and returned a dog that was ready to work together with me going forward. I am so grateful to Tamara and Doglingual for giving Bramble and me a second chance at a happy life together. I've been able to continue training him with Tamara's guidance, and I know that we will continue to grow because she gave him the foundation he needed to really enjoy being a dog.

It's a very convenient location for me and pick ups/drop offs are so fast and easy! Not sure what the heck they do to smell so bad, but I guess they come home happy and tired end of day so I'll continue to put up with it :)

I can tell that all the workers love dogs and I don't hesitate to leave her there. I know she's in great hands. It's convenient because there is an on-site groomer as well, so I have my girl brushed out once a month. She's a Klee Kai and sheds like nobody's business. It's great being able to check in during the day on the cameras and check on my dog. I also like that there are scheduled rest times so the dogs don't get overstimulated. That's when fights happen. One week before my trip I called to reconfirm my reservation and to ensure the requested room with the patio was still on the reservation. I was told it was. When I arrived to drop off my dogs I was told the room I had reserved two months in advance and reconfirmed the week before, was no longer available as someone had needed it for a "medical emergency". As my plane was leaving the next day, I had no choice but accept a room with no outdoor access. I was assured the dogs would get extra outside time in the play area as a conciliation gesture, and that they would text me periodically to let me know everything was okay. That was on Thursday. By Saturday I had not heard from them and called 9:00 in the morning. I was told they were just now getting their breakfast. I told the woman it is 9:00, what do you mean they are just now getting their breakfast. When I made the reservation, I was told the techs arrive at 5:30 am and the dogs are fed by 6:00 am. Oh she said. that is only Monday thru Friday. On weekends they do not arrive until 8:30. I also asked why I had not received any text from them as promised. She informed she was sending me an email. She did send me the email and that was the only communication I received. When I returned to pick up the dogs on Monday, my wife pointed out most of the food we had prepared in specific proportions, was still in the container. Their reply was the dogs did not eat much. These two chow hounds devour their breakfast and dinner in less than two minutes. One of my dogs is on medication required to be given to her with each feeding. Three of the pills were still in the bottle meaning they did not give her all the required medication. Obviously, I do not recommend this place.

My aussie got her first heat cycle at 8 months and I was told she was allowed back in a few weeks once her cycle was complete. She was attending day care and training sessions a couple times a week. Unfortunately, I had some other personal matters come up and will be moving so I asked for a refund. They will not offer a refund on services and offered store credit instead. Okay, fine. I scheduled a weekend boarding to use up my remaining credit and I get a text this morning asking if my dog was spayed, if not she was not allowed to return. I understand the need for the policy but I was never made aware and was told previously by a staff member it was not necessary. I am not in a position to get her spayed right now, plus I am moving states next month. They still refuse to offer a refund of nearly $300. That is a good chunk of money that apparently they intend to keep. Doesn't matter that store credit never expires, I will not be able to use it. They made a mistake with lack of employee knowledge on policies and refuse to right their mistake and now stealing my money. This is wrong. I was emailing the owner back and forth and I am disappointed with their handling of this situation. I had my dog groomed and bathed on 2 separate occasions and she came back with mats and not dried properly. Some staff members were very standoffish and unwelcoming at drop off. There is no access to cameras and I was denied access to the facility to see where my precious pup would be. I do not recommend this facility.
