Our old groomer retired, and after trying a few of the neighborhood spots, we got a recommendation for 4 paws. These ladies are great, they are very friendly, and patient with me. We have been going here about three years. My dog got skunked in the face, and through some miscommunication they were not made aware. I had tried to wash it out but some odor lingered. They managed to get it out without even knowing it was skunk. They are super patient and really take the time. My dog has double dew claws, and they do a great job with those. Her coat comes out looking shiny, and nicely trimmed. They don't overdo it. These ladies are wonderful, TIP THEM. read more

She deeply understands pets and isn't intimidated when an animal is scared, which my dog can be! She has also helped in a pinch when my dog broke her nail and was bleeding quite a bit. I liked the way my dog was shaved the first time I came to this place, but he got hurt the second time!! There's a wall separating the waiting room and the grooming room so you can't really see what's going on/ how the dogs are being handled. I have a small, 12 year old dog who left with 2 bloody paws. The groomer didn't tell me so I didn't notice until I walked my dog home and found blood dripping on the floor. I had to disinfect and bandage him up but I find it unacceptable that the groomer cut his nails extremely short and didn't tell me he was injured. Looking at the reviews, this seems like an ongoing trend. If you care about the well-being of your pet, don't bring them here!! read more

Been going to this groomer since my dog was a puppy. Never had an issue until yesterday when I got home from the groomer and noticed my dog kept licking his butt and it was uncomfortable for him to sit down. We checked him and found that his skin was irritated on his lower back and his belly where his private parts are. We put some ointment on him to help ease the irritation but my dog was restless the entire night. We hope that with the ointment his irritation goes down and doesn't get infected. Animals suffer too, and groomers have to keep in mind of that. It's upsetting that this occurred, and we won't be going back to this place. read more

Upon approaching the business, I notice someone is standing outside waiting with their dog after checking in. I didn't think anything of it. However, once I went in to check into my appointment I was immediately met with "Please close the door!" When I asked about my appointment, they repeated their demand. Mind you, this place is a complete hole in the wall. It's comparable to a back alley massage parlor. It is not a place where animals should be cared for. As customers we have the ability to shape the customer experience to our preference. And because they decided to be rude, they missed out on $150 and any tips I would have given them for taking care of my dogs. We can't trust people like this. Zero stars. I asked for a short trim for my dog and he came back completely Shaved. On top of it, they cut the base of his tail with the razor to the point it was bleeding. The first time we brought our furbaby here, it was a great experience. The second time around it was very different. We bought a copy of the vaccination record even though it was provided the first time around. The groomer we interacted with didn't seem to want to work with us at all. Because our dog is senior, she had us sign a waiver stating that if anything happened to him, she isn't liable. Okay, that's understandable but there are other ways to convey that to a paying customer. Just an attitude and the way she spoke to us. Then hours later, we picked him up. I noticed him scratching his ear continuously, so assuming his ears weren't cleaned throughly, I went to wipe it down more and it turns out she left a cotton ball IN HIS EAR. Thank goodness I checked. How do you leave a cotton ball in a dog's ear? How distracted were you and why wasn't this checked? read more

I'm not sure how this pet groomer was able to get so many good reviews but she is completely evil and I'm speaking of the Owner who does the grooming I brought my dogs there and witnessed her abusing another dog when I questioned her about this how aggressive she was grooming him she became rude and aggressive thank God I did not leave my dogs there completely unprofessional and I could tell by the way she was treating the dog this is how she does all of the dogs yet our little pets can't speak so we will never know.... I have a Rottweiler who had just gotten off the plane from Arizona and desperately needed a good clean. I chose 4 Paws for its convenient location and was not disappointed by the service. Everything was done in the basic cleaning that every other groomer provides but the price was lower than any other quotes I received from nearby groomers. My dog was cleaned well, happy and therefore I am happy. That said, he is a rottweiler and doesn't require any special trimming or cut work so I can't attest to that aspect of grooming. Either way, it was a great experience and I will be returning Follow Up: I just called to schedule a second appointment and the owner was so sweet and even remembered my dog even though its been two months!! Awesome place! Both Ewa and Anna were very friendly and great with my Havanese. I didn't have a particular cut in mind (just short for the summer, but not too short) and left it up to them to decide. When I came to pick up my Sophie, I couldn't be more pleased. Her cut was perfect and she looked so happy. They even tied a cute bandana around her neck. We have a black lab/chow mix who we've gotten groomed in the past to help keep him cool in the summer and to help control some of the MASSIVE amounts of hair he continually makes. Having recently moved, we took our dog to 4 Paws for the first time just last Friday and it was so good that I had to write a review. When I called, the person on the phone was very nice and told me that we could get an appointment for the next day. One small thing: she did forget to mention that I would need a copy of our dog's latest rabies vaccination. I already knew that, having had him groomed before, so it wasn't a big deal for me. Fast forward to the next day: I'm running late and call to apologize. They politely say "Oh, no problem! We'll be here!". I hate being late for appointments and not only did they understand, they didn't get angry or upset or tell me I'd have to reschedule. Once I got there they had me fill out a standard form, asked me what exactly I wanted, and also asked me about our dog: what did he like, what didn't he like, any sensitive areas, any places he didn't like to be touched/handled, anything else they should know, etc. Something that I also noticed: they asked if it was ok to give him treats. While we don't particularly mind what our dog eats, I thought it was very considerate for them to ask. They told me it would be about 2-3 hours and sure enough, within that window they gave me a call to say he was ready. When I walked in, he looked great! They had also tied a Halloween theme kerchief around his neck and when I mentioned we have another dog at home (that doesn't need to be groomed), the woman asked me if it was a boy or girl, then disappeared and came back with a complementing kerchief for her too. They were so nice, really cared for my dog (who enjoyed all the loving attention he got), and they did a fantastic job- for a GREAT price! read more

I have tried a few groomers, and I like 4 Paws the best. The groomer treats my dog really well (I can tell because he loves her!), and she really listens to what I want. My dog came back from previous local groomers with razor burn on his belly, but this groomer is much more gentle. I sometimes take my dog here just for a trim or a bath (he is a therapy dog and has to be super clean for work), and the groomer is always honest about which services she thinks he needs/doesn't need at the time. The prices are very reasonable, and the groomer has thrown in some freebees at times (like a free face trim when I brought a friend's dog in for a bath). I would give the place five stars if they had a better doggy gate to separate the grooming area from the waiting area. The gate is pretty makeshift and doesn't seal the passage-- makes me nervous that my dog could run out of the grooming area or even out of the store if someone opens the door. read more

I have been taking my cranky old shihtzu mix here since we moved to South Slope two years ago. I was also nervous due to the mixed reviews, but we have never had anything but a great experience at 4 Paws! Max hates getting groomed, but Anna always patiently picks up his trembling bod and whisks him away to the back. When we return a few hours later, Max is happy and looks AMAZING!
