The burger patty, veggies, cheese, bun! All of it! What they get completely right, as you don't need to be fancy when everything you do well as incredible. 2.) The fries. Man, I think potatoes are the best food group and when a burger place understands this, it is a game changer! The fries are perfect. Not soggy, to too crispy,. Just good potatoes. Whatever seasoning the put on it, we are here for it! 3.) Guys! I don't like fry sauce. I don't like special sauces. I am of the opinion that ketchup and BBQ get the job done. I always ask places to not add the special sauce or I decline their fry sauce. Again, I don't know what their sauce is, but we didn't have any left! It paired perfectly with their food, not over bearing. I love a good burger and now I get to bring my friends and family here and introduce them to, my sort of humble opinion, the best burger place in the Valley!!

They burgers are always delectable and juicy- and they have multiple gluten free options! Service is fast and friendly- really, I can't think of a reason for you not to make this your next burger stop. Oh, and the candied jalapeños take your bomads bowl to the next level. 10/10 recommend

This meal was probably my favorite during our three day trek in Montana. Just what I was looking…read morefor- tons of veggies and flavor. We stumbled upon the Tuesday night farmers market in downtown Whitefish and Phat Wombat was there. Their menu was chock full of flavor packed, veggie-filled dishes. The staff was incredibly helpful and enthusiastic in helping lead me through the menu and navigate my shellfish allergy. I ended up ordering the bowl filled with pickled poblanos, onions, carrots, sriracha mayonnaise, sweet potatoes, avocado, tofu and an egg on top. Wow, I'm still thinking about this delicious bowl days later. To top it all off, I ordered the ginger lemonade that had pea flower extract (hence the purple color). If I lived in the Whitefish area, I would certainly be a regular. Healthy and interesting food can be hard to come by in smaller towns and Phat Wombat is filling that void.

Perfectly balanced, creamy, tangy, crunchy, spicy, sweet.... I never want this to end. It is scrumptious. We chose chicken but I would love to try it with pork or even tofu. I cannot wait to eat this again. The happy wombat is all of my favorite things. Roasted tomatoes, creamy goat cheese, perfectly chewy brown rice and some green sauce that is vibrant and tangy. I have to look at the menu again now! I also got Rice Krispie treats, I can't wait to try one. They are huge!

Great Food Indoor and outdoor seating…read moreIncredible beer menu We made a stop here late in the day for some food and we were shocked how FANTASTIC the food was. Rarely do you find a spot that has great beer and great food, but Backslope does both But if you read my reviews, you know I like to steer you through the menu, at least what we tried. Foreman's Stout - full bodied, delicious. Ginger/Lemonade - refreshing, sooooo GOOD. House Fries - sliced as chips, but so good. Hummus - great consistency, but needed some citrus to finish it off. Still good, but I am picky about hummus. Tzatziki sauce - incredible, delicious, get this. Pecan Salad with Chicken - HOLY SMOKES, my wife loved this dish. She made me come back another time just so she vould have it again. Gyro Platter - light on the chicken, but really delicious. It was enough for two or more meals. Gyro - so full I could not fit it into my mouth. But enough for two. Really great find,

Five years ago I met the owner of Back Slope Brewery at a beer tasting in western Montana. That…read moreconversation convinced me to make the trip to Columbia Falls to visit the brewery, and I'm glad I did. What I discovered wasn't just excellent craft beer--it was some of the most memorable brewery food I've ever had. Back Slope took ordinary menu items and turned them into something extraordinary. The pulled pork sandwich and fried chicken sandwich were simply exceptional. The chicken was hand-cut, brined in pickle juice, carefully breaded, and fried to a perfect golden crust. The sauce brought everything together perfectly. Those sandwiches weren't just good--they were the reason I looked forward to returning. Unfortunately, on my most recent visit I discovered that both signature sandwiches are gone. The pulled pork sandwich has been removed from the menu, and the fried chicken has been replaced with commercially prepared chicken. We ordered other menu items, and while they were perfectly acceptable, they lacked the creativity and quality that made Back Slope feel special. What was once an unforgettable dining experience has become, in my opinion, just another brewery with decent food. The service, however, remains excellent. Our server was friendly, attentive, and greeted us with a genuine smile, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. I understand that restaurants evolve and sometimes difficult business decisions have to be made. Still, it's disappointing when the very dishes that set a place apart disappear. Back Slope still has good beer and great service, but the unique culinary experience that once made it worth going out of my way to visit no longer seems to be there. I sincerely hope they consider bringing those signature sandwiches back, because they were truly something special.
