This burger place has more than burgers. Chicken sandwich was excellent ! Pizza- excellent ! Everything is super tasty. Around Whitefish the prices are high and Mudman's prices are in line or lower than a lot of eateries and you get a great portion and wow- the flavor ! You get a good sized portion and you go home full. On the drive home we couldn't stop saying how good that was. The Owner was cooking the day we ate there and this guy is motivated to provide the best service and food around. Nice outdoor patio and it was not crowded like downtown is. I was in Whitefish, MT for the weekend and wanted a good, independent burger stand. Mudman Burgers continually kept showing up and their coupling with an international charity lead us to give them a try. This small, old and quaint house has real charm. We were informed that the 1/3 pound patties are hand formed to order. The meat was thick, juicy and a bit salty. The burger was fully loaded with lettuce, tomato, bacon bits, special sauce and onions. The buns are home made. The ratio of meat to bun was 2:1. The fries were piping hot and lightly salted. It is a solid, generous amount of beef and juicy burger. I felt that the service was good and friendly. It just did not WOW me and leave me with the need to return. The locals swear about Mudman burger and I can't judge them about a Whitefish staple. This is a must try! The cozy house turned restaurant provided a homey and casual atmosphere. As soon as we entered we were genuinely greeted by the team. Their Mudman burger was flavorful~ filled with their mudman chili, bacon lettuce tomato onion and their special sauce. It was very filling. The chili fries were yummy. And don't forget to order their Huckleberry Shake. (I remember when we were in Yellowstone how Huckleberry was prominent.) I enjoy Mudman's Huckleberry Shake since it had real huckleberries. He recommended Mud Man, I was so down for a burger Mud Man's unique flavor and fun retro atmosphere is incredible! The service was great and the chili fries and milkshakes are a must!!! Saw this place just driving by, looked it up and decided to try it. Sure glad we did! Best burger I've had in a very long time. They load the burger with a lot of toppings and the flavors just work so well together! I did opt out of the mud (chili) because I'm not a fan and definitely not on my burger. My float was perfectly ratioed ice cream to root beer and I love the old timey soft serve they use! It's rare to find these days. I'm amazed as I drive across the country to see that everywhere I go, there is always a bunch of places claiming to have the world's best hamburgers. We know they can't all be the best, but I like to see what makes each one think that way. When I stopped in to have a burger at Mudman Burgers I saw the signs and was, of course, skeptical. I must say after eating here that they have something great going on. Burgers can be typical but not here. Juicy, cheesy, with chili("mud") on them, they take things up a notch or two. The burgers here are HUGE! Especially the Big Mud which features a double patty. You can definitely tell things are made in house and to order. Everything is fresh and extremely filling. The huckleberry shake is worth trying, and the mud (chili) also makes the dishes unique. One minor quirk was that I did find everything to be a bit on the saltier side, from the patty to the chili to the bacon. Not too much of an issue but definitely noticeable when I was enjoying the food. read more

Just tried this Mudman for the first time. It's great overall, but the food is not quite as good as the Columbia Falls location. Atmosphere and decor are better. Fries were kinda small and dry, burger was slightly dry. But, overall, everything was quite fresh and delicious. I look forward to trying them again and hopefully upgrading them to a 5/5. We needed a dog friendly restaurant on our road trip and found this place. It is new and still undergoing some construction and decorating. It is a cute converted house with the backyard set up with picnic tables and high tops plus bistro sets. They have a small grassy area, umbrellas, and tarps for shade, Two dog bowls were outside but didn't have water. You order at inside of the house and they bring food to you. It took a few minutes to get service since they were having problems with the shake machine. Food was delicious and good value for the portions. We had the original hamburger, grilled chicken sandwich, split fries. Their fry sauce is delicious. Enjoyed the spicy flavor. My chicken was also tasty and burger was great. Definitely 5 for food and 3.5 for service so 4 seems about right. They are new and I'm sure will work the kinks out with experience. It would be nice to have water bowls filled for customers with dogs. And also a dog menu. Lazy Dog restaurants bring water to your table for the pups and have a few menu items you can get for the dogs to eat while you're there. read more

We visited the one in Columbia Falls on a rainy drive back from GNP, and the whole family loved it so much, we had to try it again in Whitefish. The service is great at both locations. If you're here in the area visiting, this spot is an absolute must! My group and I were traveling to Montana to visit Glacier National Park, and we saw this place advertised at the airport. We looked it up and saw good reviews. Keep in mind that there are multiple locations, but we ended up going to this one. These burgers are so fresh and delicious. They have several different options, but I just went with the original mudman burger. The bun is very soft, puffy, and buttery to perfection. What's unique about this burger is their chili sauce that comes with it. Of course, you can just ask for it on the side if you're not sure about it. I also HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend getting their huckleberry milkshake. As you drive around these areas, you'll notice that huckleberry is a popular ingredient to a lot of desserts here. Their huckleberry milkshake is DELICIOUS. It's the perfect treat after a long day of hiking. I got whipped cream with mine too. Service was 5/5. Everyone was so nice and friendly. They made sure we were all satisfied with our orders. This place is very casual, and there's plenty of seating. They were able to accommodate for my group of 7. Ordered a shake from this restaurant and stood at the counter and watched them make it and to my horror I watched as the guy mixed my shake using an old fashioned shake mixer, the kind with the stem and spinning blade that revs about 20,000 RPMs.. The problem: he spun the shake using a plastic cup that they served it up with. This guy with a nose ring went to town on that cup with that blender and I could hear it grinding and whirring at high speed away at the plastic cup sides. As an engineer I can guarantee the amount of micro plastic grinded off that plastic cup into my shake was off the charts and would have been a years worth in one serving. One is supposed to use a stainless mixing steel so when the metal mixer blades hit the side (which it does constantly) you don't get contaminated food. Anyway, I but my lip, paid my bill and promptly threw the shake in the garbage when I got home. Not using a stainless mixer and then pouring the shake into the plastic cup is just laziness as it requires being cleaned after each serving. That was one of the worst cases of negligence and lack of concern for a fellow human being on the part of Mud Man's staff that is possible. Next person should call them out on this Really bad process. read more
