He's originally from San Diego, so he has very high standards when it comes to what a true California burrito should be, and La Casita definitely hit the mark. It's not easy to find an authentic California burrito outside of Southern California, but they nailed it. We also tried their homemade horchata, and it was one of the best we've ever had--perfectly balanced and incredibly refreshing. Beyond the amazing food, the service was outstanding. The restaurant has a great atmosphere and even offers a small selection of Mexican pantry items for sale, which adds a unique touch. THEN, my rehearsal dinner location that has been putting me off for months about getting reservation details beyond "sure we can do that" comes back with "That will be $4k room reservation since its on one of our busy days, looking forward to working with you" 3 weeks before the wedding. In a panic I reached out to see if there was any way S&M would be willing to squeeze in some additional catering for me that weekend and all I heard was "don't worry! we got you!" at a fraction of the price of my previous intended location, on short notice and with a smile. Chef Star and her team have already gone above and beyond and we haven't even gotten to the good stuff yet. We are so looking forward to actually getting to taste the food (Which I've heard is incredible), but even if it was just mediocre, they will still get a 5 star review.
