Great Food Indoor and outdoor seating…read moreIncredible beer menu We made a stop here late in the day for some food and we were shocked how FANTASTIC the food was. Rarely do you find a spot that has great beer and great food, but Backslope does both But if you read my reviews, you know I like to steer you through the menu, at least what we tried. Foreman's Stout - full bodied, delicious. Ginger/Lemonade - refreshing, sooooo GOOD. House Fries - sliced as chips, but so good. Hummus - great consistency, but needed some citrus to finish it off. Still good, but I am picky about hummus. Tzatziki sauce - incredible, delicious, get this. Pecan Salad with Chicken - HOLY SMOKES, my wife loved this dish. She made me come back another time just so she vould have it again. Gyro Platter - light on the chicken, but really delicious. It was enough for two or more meals. Gyro - so full I could not fit it into my mouth. But enough for two. Really great find,

It might have been because it was some sort of a trivia night and they seemed quite busy with a regular crowd that was there. However, I did stay and I ended up ordering the ginger bowl 2.0 along with a hummus plate and I was very, very surprised as how good it all was. In fact "excellent " tells it all. I would definitely come back just for those two selections alone. Not at all what I would've expected in a "bar" in Columbia Falls, Montana. Some Asian choices, some Middle Eastern choices, some American choices on the menu and more. I was very impressed with just the two that I got so I want to come back and try again. The ambience was rather an open environment, wood chairs, wood tables, no booths, but comfortable and had more of that "bar" feel to it but there were kids there so families were welcome

I ate half my omelet out of hating to waste food, but I feel like they wasted it, not me. The eggs were paper-thin and dry, with the sliced American cheese and cubed ham adding a ton of salt. I prefer well seasoned food, but this was too much. Three stars also might seem like too much, but the bacon was exquisite in quality and preparation, my husband's sunny-side-up eggs were perfect, the coffee was good and hot (even if the service was a bit chilly) and the people watching was excellent. NB: I don't "people watch" with contempt; I care about people. I particularly like to see regular visitors enjoying themselves. That morning we had two older gentlemen meeting for breakfast and Bible study; a quiet interaction between people engaged in sobriety support; a young family trying to wrangle little ones and mostly succeeding; and what appeared to be a trucker taking a late breakfast before hitting the road. All of these could have been regulars from my childhood and I enjoyed the ambiance very much. My family used to go to the Nite Owl in the late 70s / early 80s for rare restaurant dinners. Their Chef's Salad was my favorite treat at the time, and I really savored it. Before moving away from the Valley a few years later, I started ordering breakfasts and they were also grand: fluffy omelets rich with cheese, crispy hash browns...a real treat. Revisiting last week it was not the same. Too bad.
