They asked me what the issue was, took a few notes I suppose, and scheduled someone to come to my place in 30 minutes. The gentleman arrived on time and looked at the issue and took photos. Then he started acting sus. First, he didn't want me to lock the house when he walked in. I didn't get that. Then asked me how many rooms I had and how many people lived in the house ( how does any of that concern him? ). Once I took him to the source, he told me what he thought the problem was and said he couldn't fix it. Fair enough. I walk him out and then he goes he'll "charge $145 only". I understood what he meant but still asked him if it was to fix the problem. He said "no fix, too high (location of issue). I come, tell you problem, $145". He was trying to extort me and obviously I didn't fall for it but wondered if people actually did fall for it. He gestured that he'll write me a receipt for $145 and I told him he could do what he wanted because I wasn't paying. He showed up as promised and replaced a kitchen faucet and reset a toilet that the flange had rusted out. Very reasonably priced. I had a water heater that was beyond it's expiration date. Set up a date for the following week. Vernon called me on Tuesday morning as promised. He was at my house on time. Had everything he needed for the job and did a great job.
