Amazing food! Most interesting, tasty and beautiful dishes we have experienced in Wisconsin. Better even that the dinners we had on the Riverwalk in San Antonio. Curry Cauliflower Fritters, Teriyaki Chicken Tacos with Pineapple Salsa; Chile Rellenos better than anywhere else including Texas; delicious Crawfish Bisque with a little heat better than I've ever had on the gulf coast. Food was absolutely delicious. We shared a few appetizers. The potbelly chunks, the philly rolls & a bowl of the tortilla soup. The philly rolls were our favorite. Packed full of lots of flavor and a side of horseradish dip that wasn't overbearing at all. The pictures I saw here of the potbelly was in strips. Ours were served as cubes. I think they would have been easier to eat as strips but delicious nonetheless. The bourbon sauce was as good as it sounded and plenty of it for dipping along the way. Staff was friendly but clearly getting ready for a busy Saturday night during our lunch shift. We will definitely be back to try other dishes when we are in the area. read more

When we got there, you could see how new the building was! The fresh paint smell was still there! Upon walking in, you feel like u are thrown back into your childhood of circus world days! The kids arcade is kind of like a chucky cheese, but only better! We ordered an a variety of appetizers, which included sweet and spicy piglets, which is spicier and sweet candy maple bacon with syrup dipping sauce! It was amazing!! We also had the avocado toast with fried green onions on top! It was garnished with pickled onions! it probably would've been better if it had different bread! But for the most part it was still pretty good. We also ordered the oven roasted mussels, that came with a side of cheese bread! The strong taste of seafood was a little off putting but they were over all still good! Now the deep-fried avocados that's came with some of the best aoli sauce we've ever had. Where really one for the books! Everything in that dish was simply amazing! Everything came out fresh and tasted amazing! Really want to like this place but they are 2 for 2 in extremely slow service and so so food. Got there on Saturday about 1:30 for lunch and ordered our food (5 adults and 7 and 4 year olds). After waiting 45 minutes and the kids had played downstairs and walked around outside, they were starving and wanted to eat. We complained about the wait and were told there was a large group downstairs. The place had hardly anyone there and there were no large groups downstairs, or upstairs since there were very few people there. When our food was finally delivered, my shrimp tacos were barely warm, the order of nachos was cold, the burgers were not hot, and the cheese curds were the size of dimes. No apologies. We ordered onion rings and 2 entrees and the onion rings were out in about ten minutes and maybe another 5 for the entrees. The food was super delicious, good quality! We got a chicken caesar salad wrap which the wrap was good but a little to thick and very yummy filling. They came with seasoned fries and a ketchup sauce which I thought were very good- might be the best fries I've had! I got margarita shrimp tacos which were so good! I went to 44 North for brunch yesterday with my parents and wife. The first thing that stood out to me was the wonderful service we got from Cory! Very informative and attentive. Kept my coffee filled, which was appreciated! Next...the food. Amazing spread and everything was delicious. If you enjoy a breakfast out, this is as good of a spot as I've seen in the area! We attended a wedding the weekend of Aug. 24, 2019 at the banquet center in River Prairie Center, Altoona WI. We had an outstanding bartender at the wedding, and he was also our server the following morning at the 44 North American Gastropub (in the same park and all run by the same company). I've attended a lot of weddings and had a lot of meals out, and CORY may be the best we've ever had! As a bartender, he was both quick and attentive, as well as fun and welcoming with the wedding guests. He also was our server for brunch the next morning at 44 North, and again he impressed us with his kindness, humor and good service. The view is the only good thing about this place. The server was training a new server with her. First of all she didn't say her name like the rest of the severs did around us. Came to our table once and that was after we got our burgers. The burgers tasted like charred gasoline. The manager suggested it flat topped cooked because she personally doesn't enjoy the grilled burgers there. The server that served the table next to us was amazing and I heard her name was Lilly. We did the buffalo chicken rolls as an app, and they were so tasty! I had the teriyaki Chicken tacos, and the flavors were fantastic. The chips and salsa for the side weren't the best ever, but I was full from the app and didn't mind. My boyfriend had a wrap and fries, and the fries were potato wedges. Kinda humorous... However. We sat in the outside bar upstairs and the lights and ceilings are infected with spiders . Just wasn't appetizing trying to eat. Came here to play games, have a few beers, and try some food. We were sitting at the lounge table and not once did wait staff ask me if I needed anything. I was also ignored by one of the bartenders. I didn't have a problem getting up to order my drink until a waitress came over and asked if there was anything else we needed before they got our bill. And we kept getting a side eye by all the wait staff. They staff must not have known that I had an open table running. Their loss, I only had two beers on it. We left without playing games or eating. It seemed like we were not welcome. I thought maybe it was just a bad day so a friend and I went back the next day and got bad service again. Now let's talk the downsides: I saw some flies buzzing around and it has expensive prizes, but what compensates is the games that give tons of tickets in 1 play. Well, where to start. I had heard from numerous people about their experience and none of it was good. Food somewhere between mediocre and terrible, poor service, expensive drinks, limited menu type of thing. But that's all hearsay, I needed to experience it myself. Went on a mid afternoon expecting them to not be overly busy. Sometimes difficult to judge a restaurant when they are swamped. As predicted, they were not overly busy. Downstairs when you walk in you are greeted by an arcade. Literally, the real deal arcade. Lights going off, sirens blasting and kids running around. Off to the side behind a convenient wall is a long bar with TV's where a parent or sitter can get juiced while they wait. Some may like it, for me this is a little slice of hell. Went up the stairs and found a dining area with another bar. Since it was nice out we chose outside seating. The bartender inside said go on out and pick a table, she'd send someone out. Nobody came. There was one other table of 3 out there, finally a waitress came to talk to them. Then she saw us and came over to tell us she didn't know anyone else was out here and she'd be back. Something told me to doubt this, and in time I was proven wrong. She did come back after a long wait with glasses of water and menus. Said she'd be back to take our order. She must have got her foot caught in the toilet or something, she never came back. This after a very long wait. We left. So, I can't tell you how the food was. The water was wet. The menu did indeed appear to be limited. The workers I saw all were very young. This kind of lack of service though emanates from management, or a lack of. The problem with this place is not with young and clueless workers, it with uncaring or incompetent managers or owners. Inexcusable. Nice view though of their competition from the outside seating. I've been here for lunch and dinner and the food is great!! I had the chicken wings every time because my older kids and I can't get enough of it. I can see this place getting more busy during the summer time. My kids love the arcade, gives us parents a break. I have sat both upstairs and downstairs different times and I have to say downstairs is a little bit slower. Plus there is a huge open space between the sitting area and the bar too so it seems a little awkward with that much space, that's usually not normal in restaurants. Ordered the margarita tacos. They were so spicy I could not eat them. Our server was behind the bar and did not come back far at least 15 minutes after we received our food. No one came to check on us so that I could get a refill on my drink when my mouth was burning up. The chips and salsa with my meal were terrible. The chips were stale and the salsa tasted like there was so much black pepper in it. Not an enjoyable meal. Asked for sour cream to try and dull the spice and they charged me $1.50 for sour cream but even after dumping sour cream on it, there was still so much spice, did not finish it.
