I would like to address what a reviewer recently said about this location because I think they left…read morean unfair review with lots of hyperbole. This gym does not cost $100 per month. As shown on their individual location page, the highest tier membership is $64.99. There are cheaper memberships depending on what membership you sign up for. It is not overly packed during the times that I go, usually around 6:30pm on weekdays and sometimes Sunday evenings. I generally count 8-10 people at most and have never had to wait for a machine or equipment. The only humidity you experience is in one of the bathrooms if someone previously took a shower. However, they leave the door open to promote airflow. As far as I am aware, there is airflow and I have not once felt uncomfortable there. Judging from a majority of reviews, many people like and in fact, love this gym. It will not anger you, unless you are quick to get angry over things. It sounds to me that the real cause of this low review was being charged an amount that they did not agree with, and possibly missing important details when signing up. This could have been resolved with a phone call, instead of a poor review. I would urge you, dear reader, to approach negative reviews like this with caution. Understand that the employees here care, it is not a crowded gym or humid in any manner, and Trent is there to help you out when needed. There is no pressure to join if you sign up for a free trial either.

Five years later, I married Colin--a fellow iron warehouse weightlifter. Now we have a baby, and I'm trying to find time to get back to the gym. Even though we live in Castro Valley, we try to find time to go to Iron Warehouse because it's worth it for the community. Leo does an amazing job of uplifting people that want to get into shape--and stay in shape! Truly, he creates a community in this little garage gym. During my visits,…read moreI observed what appeared to be inconsistent treatment of certain members by management, which contributed to an environment that felt less welcoming and inclusive than expected. Additionally, the facility did not appear to be maintained to an acceptable standard. The gym was frequently dusty, and equipment, including dumbbells, was often left unattended throughout workout areas. This lack of organization created a cluttered appearance and raised potential safety concerns. Overall, cleanliness and facility upkeep did not seem to receive adequate attention.  I expect a fitness center to provide a clean, safe, and professional environment for all patrons. Unfortunately, the condition of the facility, combined with concerns regarding member treatment, fell short of those expectations. I encourage corporate management to review these concerns and take appropriate steps to improve both facility maintenance and the overall member experience.

Apparently, management chooses not to manage that issue. You need some fresh teachers and new classes in the exercise room. Same old boring stuff. Get some actual Mixxed Fit, U-Jam, or other classes with fresh choreography and music. It's like a senior center in there, which would be fine as far as the seniors, but even seniors like to do NEW choreography. At least pre-pandemic when Bob was teaching Zumba, he kept up with new routines. That's why his Monday night class was packed. There was actual choreography.

I had no background in CrossFit or weightlifting and felt completely new to it all, but they explained the basics clearly, kept things motivating, and often stepped in to correct form so we built the right foundation. I'm still a beginner in CrossFit and probably will be for a while but my weight loss has accelerated since making the switch, and I've started feeling stronger, healthier, and more positive overall.
