I brought in a vintage car with a 12 V engine that had complicated electrical issues. I tried two other mechanics that told me they could not figure out what was wrong with it. Evers fixed it within a short period of time. Not only that he calls and communicates with you and doesn't make you hunt him down for status updates. In general he only fixes things that need to be addressed for and he does it for a fair price. He doesn't try and suggest repairs to make more money. I would recommend him to anyone who needs a reliable mechanic. Honest mechanic has become an oxymoron for a reason but in this case it's an accurate description. read more

I've used countless mechanics over 45 years with every kind of collector car and in terms of honesty, fair price and competence there is none better than Evers. the vehicles in his yard include late-model German and Japanese, and I once I noticed a first generation Corvair Monza. my starter was bad and instead of replacing it with junk from Kragen, he ReBuilt it! this is old world craftsmanship at its finest. he also traced a gas smell I'd been to lazy to look into, that I forgot to mention and fixed it in expensively. I recently moved to LA, and let me tell ya...one of the biggest stressors is finding all new go-to people (new Mechanic, Doctor, etc). I paid for a tune up, they literally wrote me a text message 3 weeks later saying they forgot to install my spark plugs and to this day (5 months later), they haven't given me the spark plugs that I paid for. They went out of their way to find me the best pricing for a replacement mirror and all my options with insurance. I dropped it off late at night and by 9 the next morning, they had called me with all the details and options. I really could not be happier with the service. What I reallyyy like about Ever is that he communicates with you and gives you options...he doesn't make assumptions about what you want to do, but will tell you whats wrong with the car and give you options according to whats best for the car and for you financially also. I know I'll get good work done, it will be done quickIy, won't be overpriced, and I'll get some pointers on what to do to maintain my car, avoid problem repeats, etc. I know that if I drive in with a minor problem, I won't be duped into having unnecessary work done. On the other hand, if something needs to be attended to, I'll learn why and find out all my options. All I can say is these guys are AMAZING. I've been to a lot of mechanics in this city based on Yelp reviews and I've only met 1 other mechanic who I would trust 100% but he's all the way in the valley and isn't open on weekends. Now that I've found 4 Evers on my side of the hill I won't be going anywhere else! 99% of mechanics are sharks, out to make a quick $, they fix problems that were never there to begin with and sometimes even cause more. I came to 4 Evers on the recommendation of a good friend when my car started to overheat on the freeway. I can't tell you how many other mechanics my car has been to in the last 3 years but apparently the brackets were off my radiator and it was right up against the condensor and slowly being destroyed. Not ONE mechanic ever mentioned this to me, for all I know, one of them could've been the reason the brackets were off to begin with!!! Brought the car in and they checked it out for me, showed me why the car was overheating pointing out the damage to the radiator and showing me where it was leaking. They said it would be ready within the next 3 hours and promised to give it a good once over to make sure nothing else was out of place. When I picked up the car they had replaced the radiator, installed new brackets and taken care of a few other small things as well as gave it a great wash and basically charged me the cost of the radiator alone! Anytime I feel really guilty about how little I'm paying a mechanic that's how I know they're good. Well, that and everything else I mentioned above :). I will be referring everyone I know to 4 Evers and almost wish there were more problems with my car so I could give them more business! read more

This is one of those situations where I want this place to do well but not TOO well, because the service is SO good I don't want them to get really popular and overwhelmed and have their service change because it is exactly awesome as it is. I found these guys because my car went out on a freeway exit and they happened to be driving by at the same time I was pushing my car to the curb. They immediately stopped to help me and Ever looked at my engine right there and told me what he thought was going on. He said his garage was really close by, but didn't pressure me to take it there or anything. I was so impressed with how helpful, respectful and straight-forward he was, I decided to take my car there. What a great choice that was. I have been a loyal customer since. I've even called him when I'm out of town if my car is making weird sounds and he'll give me his opinion. But I haven't needed anything major since going there - their work stands up for years! I've recommended friends to him, but this garage is a precious resource - honest and well priced and they really know their stuff - so I try to keep it on the DL. But if you're considering going there, it's the best. I'd give more stars if I could because finding a mechanic who doesn't patronize or try and scare you into shelling out a bunch of cash is like finding a pearl in your stool - a wonderful surprise you didn't know was possible. read more

I had been bringing my car to Ever for months. A few days ago he changed the alternator, that same day I had to go to San Diego for work. Car broke down when i got there, took it to a shop and found out thanks to the (angel) mechanic who fixed my car that Ever had been "fixing" my car with used parts and charging them as new. Also, Ever failed to mention that timing belt needed to be replaced, it made a huge odd sound but maybe he didn't think it was worth mentioning... The mechanic in San Diego also changed it (this is not the reason why my car broke down) and showed me that it was about to burst the engine, there were 6 inches flat on the inside. Never take your car to this shop, you will be throwing your money away and you won't get your car fixed! read more
