I am highly disappointed in the service I received here today. I had an appointment and waited over 45 minutes to be seen. The 80 year old with Alzheimer's had the same issue! That is not how the elderly should be treated, especially since they let a walk in go in front of both of us. This nail salon has incredible service, however i was not satisfied with my nails. if i am to pay around the amount of $40 for a full set, with gel, i would like to atleast be HALF satisfied. which clearly i was not. the polish was all lumpy, sticky and crooked. he completely rushed it. i was able to get a new lady to fix my nails, which i felt horrible for because she had to start from square one. she however, left my nails incredible, but the man who did my nails seemed very anxious and stressed. he kept asking me what day of the week it was and it was very unprofessional. i haven't decided if i want to come back, but if i do, i'll be sure to ask for Michelle. read more

No Pun intended but they absolutely nailed it! I have been getting pedicures for over 25 years and this was by far the best one I have ever had! I did get the higher priced pedi but it was totally worth it. I have never felt so pampered at a nail salon as I did here! Classical music was playing, I was offered hot tea, coffee, or water and then another worker came to my chair and put a hot pack around my neck! Rose petals (ok I know they dont do anything for you) BUT the ambiance of it all was so amazing! The owners have set the standard high and it shows! Everything in here was remodeled and brand new! Their nail polish wall was beautifully organized by color and the customer service was outstanding!!! read more

They are half way decent but terrible at taking appointments. Two of the three times I've made appointments I show up only for them to say they don't have anyone available and ask if I can come back. I came to try this place because they had good reviews and I wanted to try something new. I walk in, 2 people are sitting in pedi chairs (waiting for someone to work on them) and 3 people were getting their nails done. I ask about getting a pedicure and they said they don't have anyone to do pedicures today and asked me to make an appointment. I figured they would say, it will be a wait because 2 people were about to get theirs done, not "we don't have anyone". They asked me to make an appointment tomorrow but I just said no. read more

I was so disappointed in the way my nails turned out that I removed them 3 days later, they were so thick, the lady tried really hard to do ombré but couldn't do it, I explained to her if she couldn't do it it's ok I would just get a color but she insisted, I was there for 2 hours before I had to ask her to stop trying and to just put a color on it, I gave it 2 stars because the lady was nice and tried but didn't listen to anything I said. read more

Wednesday (2.1.2017) was my first visit to this nail salon, but it definitely won't be my last! I called around 4:30 pm to see if I could make a same-day appointment for a pedicure at 5:30 pm (they close at 6 pm I believe Monday-Saturday and close at 5 pm on Sundays). I was expecting to be told that there were no appointments available and I would have totally understood since I was calling last minute, but the woman on the phone said absolutely and scheduled me for 5:30. I arrived at 5:22 pm and was greeted and asked to take a seat and they would be with me shortly. The salon was very clean, relaxing and had lots of polish colors to choose from. I was asked to come sit in the pedicure chair right at my appointment time and informed the nail technician, Betty, that I wanted their "peppermint pedicure". This pedicure was $35 and worth every penny! The water bowl was lined with a disposable liner which was nice to see a nail salon be sanitary about that! The water was a perfect temperature. The pedicure chairs were VERY comfortable, there was a nice recline on it and the massage function was just the right amount of pressure (we've all experienced the sliding down the chair because the massage was too rough, am I right ladies?) Betty added the lemon and mint to the water and soaked my feet. Betty asked if I would like something to drink, offering tea, coffee or water. I declined but I have never been offered refreshments at a nail salon before so that is kind of them to offer. She took the nail tools out of a sealed plastic bag which was great to see. You can never be too sanitary and I appreciate their efforts to do so. She then did the clipping, filing and pushing back of the cuticles. She was SO gentle which was appreciated! Some nail technicians can be very rough and make it unpleasant but Betty was wonderful! She never once appeared to be rushing through my service (even though I didn't get out of there until after closing). After filing there was a sugar scrub, paraffin foot wrap, hot stone massage, massage with lotion and a warm towel wrap, all of which was very wonderful. Betty then used the polish I selected and painted my nails. Again, she did a fantastic job. The particular polish I selected wasn't very opaque, but instead of trying to cut corners, Betty applied the necessary amount of layers to get the true opacity. She then helped me put my sandals on and walked me over to the lights to let them dry. I can honestly say that I have never been so pleased with a first time nail salon experience in my life! I hope over time they continue to stay true to their practices here and their wonderful customer service. Betty was fantastic and I would recommend her to everyone! Just had the absolute best gel fill and gel pedicure by Theresa! The definitely aren't stingy on the foot massages! Was in heaven. I've gone from discovery bay to Brentwood to Tracy looking for a good spot to relax on the few days off I do get, and FINALLY FOUND ONE. I WAS a regular customer here. Had an appointment today to get fills. The girl that started on me was pressing a little too hard on my nails beds with the Sanders they use. I jumped 3 times while she was attempting to remove the old nail polish because the sander was extremely hot on my nails burning underneath the acrylic. She proceeded to say something about me in whatever language they are speaking in there, got up and said someone else will help me. Major attitude to a good paying customer & I do tip well. Left me sitting there with my nails all jagged & lots of the old polish still half on. It took another 15 minutes for someone to come over and help me. I had them remove the acrylic which he did just fine without burning my nail beds. This girl had a bad attitude and I will never go back there again. What a terrible way to treat one of your regulars. I will take my business elsewhere! Btw, they had the nerve to charge me $10 for the awful experience. Steer clear of this one, their prices are too high for their services anyway. There are so many nail salon out there to choose from. I went there mainly because it is very close to my home. This review is way past due, but anyway, I stopped into this place thinking it was still Vicki's nails, I noticed that it was very different inside, Wow, what a difference, new chairs, new paint new everything, soo nice. As I sat getting my nails filled, the gal next to me was getting a pedicure, the owner came up to her and put a warm pillow around her neck, I thought...how nice that is. 3 minutes later she came over to me with one as well, I was very impressed. They offered me a cup of tea, a said sure. It was a great experience, can't wait to have a pedicure!! On my way out they handed me a free container of hand cream. The first couple of times I went to 4G Nails, I liked the gel manicure I received. It lasted almost 3 weeks. What I didn't like was making a specific appointment and once I arrived, experiencing what patrons of some nail salons complain about-----finding other people (the walk-ins) or others were being taken instead of the appointment honored. I'd wait and wait. Finally I'd be taken and even if I requested a particular manicurist, I might have more than one trading places with another manicurist to work on my nails. I saw people who arrived with appointments also experience this waiting and waiting and noticing others like walk-ins given priority instead. I'd see dismayed patrons say, "I'll come back tomorrow" and the salon people reply "Oh, we're just so busy today." Asking around about people's experience at nail salons in general, I was told this is the bad of some salons: that appointments are taken but don't mean much. Then friends suggested other salons where an appointment is known to be strictly honored....One last concern: Although Betty at 4G Nails did a good job, when I was handed over to the guy who works there, he worked very fast, was less personable, and twice his manicures failed almost immediately. When I came back a few days later, he blamed it on "your broken fingernail [tips]." He repaired the peeling nails, but it failed again within a day or two. I tried another salon who used the same color and not nearly the number of coats of color he'd put on (3-4 compared to 2, the regular number).This new salon did a great job and was less expensive as well. I'll go where I---and my nails---are treated a lot better. read more
