I went to Radioland to buy the new A/Cs, the owner said he wanted to come by the house and take a look. He did that a couple of days later, checked the room, the units and the outlets, told me both units are smaller than he would normally recommend but also told me that one might be repairable and could be moved to a different room and I would only need to buy one A/C. He came another day and cleaned up the old A/C and it worked fine after that. I then went back to the store, bought my new A/C on a Friday and he came and installed it the next Monday (and moved the old A/C to a different room and took away the one that was there). Yes, it involved a few trips to the store (around the corner) and I could see this is not for everyone; some folks might prefer to just drive to Best Buy or Home Depot pick out an A/C and arrange for it to be shipped installed in one trip. But for me this is perfect and gave me great peace of mind. I don't drive, hate dealing with shipping and arranging installation/removal. This was a very comfortable process for me where I ended up with a quality product, professional installation and was sold the product I needed, not something I didn't. Plus I liked the owners and their staff.

I asked them how much it will cost, they repairmen said the office will let me know. 2 weeks late, their office called, saying they have the incorrect CC number. I gave them the number and asked them how much they are going to charge. They answered, $275+ tax. Later, they charged $489.94 to my CC, unauthorized. when contacted, they said the person who told us $275 did not know and they would not budged. This is fraudulent and equivalent to theft, charging without the consent of the cardholder. Caveat Emptor, do not entrust your card number with them. Don't Hire them even if they were the last company on earth.

Jonathan did an amazing job with installing 2 window units (one GE and one Dreo, both bought on…read moreamazon). I was initially reluctant to spend any money on having A/C's installed, so first had the building superintendent temporarily plop in one of the units on the window (resting on window bracket), this was very shoddy with gaps and air spaces everywhere. Jonathan's install was on a different level - like a piece of art. Firstly, he removed and aligned the brackets properly, with the right amount of incline. Then he installed the A/C's just that they were screwed in to the windows and just slightly above the brackets (not touching). The brackets are there for additional safety and if the unit does not touch them, it reduces the vibrations and noise substantially. Jonathan also installed a plexiglass side panel which looks very nice. Throughout this he was very pleasant to talk to, and clearly had a deep technical background and a passion for this sort of work. I can highly recommend his service - I got much greater value for money than I ever expected. Am very happy with the experience.
