I'm not sure what shocked me the most, the ultimate cost for my "bayalage" or the color, and why…read moreit's so hard to be honest about how it comes out in the moment. I am just passing though NJ, but after some Google search I found this salon. It was close to me and the cost seemed reasonable on their website (135+ for bayalage). Which is totally normal for my hair, it's usually 250 after tip. My salon experience cost me 414 after tip, which is mind blowing-I was so flawed over the price my hair color didn't hit until the next morning. I shouldn't have offered to pay before the service was over, I was just being kind so the owner didn't have to come back and close up after us. I never got a recept or a breakdown of what I was charged for. I have a feeling I was charged for additional services I didn't ask for, nor should have been warranted for a bayalage. I had Yngrid as my stylist and I LOVE how she cut and thinned my hair, but she missed the mark on the color after showing her pictures and telling her how I wanted it. Ultimately my hair was just highlighted an ugly gray color, it was "glazed," which I've never had done, and a root treatment...the point of a bayalage is that it doesn't start at the root, which I had stated in the chair...I wanted it to start a few inches from my root. Therefore a root treatment should have never been needed to "blend" the color. While I was also getting my hair done a client came in because she was not happy of the color of her hair. If I had time I would have gone back to have them tone it but I'm on the go and work late. I took time out of work to have my hair done (it was very over due). Overall this salon over charges for services, and it seems like the artists just do their own thing. If you can't simulate the style in the photos don't do the hair!

Absolutely loved my experience at River & Rose Salon. I got my hair cut by Cynthia and she did an incredible job, totally understood what I was going for, and delivered. She was more conservative and thoughtful when it came to the fringe and ended up giving me the perfect result. I appreciate when a stylist gives feedback on what might look good or be a good option given lifestyle, etc.. Cynthia is thoughtful, real, & talented and I'll 100% be back. All the other ladies at the salon were really kind, knowledgeable, and fun to talk to. The space itself has good vibes & great lighting.

Went to The Beauty Loft salon today hoping for a relaxing self-care day, and while my stylist…read moreabsolutely SLAYED my hair, the vibe in the salon was honestly so uncomfortable. I honestly didn't enjoy anything from the experience even though I paid for a luxury cut. My stylist Neschenka was amazing, super professional, talented, and clearly cared about doing things the right way. Before starting, she wanted to do a consultation first (which makes complete sense), but the woman at the front desk loudly called her out in front of everyone about being 15 minutes late and kept pushing the assistant to start me anyway. Even though Neschenka told her twice she wanted to see me first before getting me started. The tension was THICK. Like... painfully awkward. And the craziest part? I wasn't even upset or complaining. Why are you upset over 15 minutes when I wasn't. It just felt really unnecessary and unprofessional to handle things like that in front of clients and coworkers instead of privately. The whole place had such weird mean-girl energy for no reason. It's not like it's a high end salon it's a basic old lady salon. I've been to many high end salons and waited over thirty minutes. Sometimes it takes a little longer since stylists actually care about quality. Waiting is a good sign! Thankfully Neschenka handled it with grace, and my hair came out BEAUTIFUL. Honestly, she's way too talented for that environment. The front desk woman really needs freshen up on leadership skills. Cause that was NOT it! I won't be back to support the salon but def will support Neschenka at any other place.

I initially chose The Beauty Loft because they carried Davines products, which consistently lasted…read morewell in my hair. Davines is a premium line, and I appreciated that the salon used high‑quality products for coloring services. Reema was wonderful at understanding my needs and achieving the right color match, which is why I continued coming back. Over time, things began to change. Prices increased, and the salon switched the product line being used. I immediately noticed a difference in my color during my appointment and could tell the products had changed. Increasing prices while downgrading product quality is where the issue began. My color no longer lasted--within two weeks and after only two washes, my white hairs were already visible again. I raised these concerns with Reema multiple times, but they were brushed over. I have no problem paying for quality products; however, when a salon presents itself as offering premium services but no longer delivers that level of quality, it inevitably loses clients. To add to this experience, I called to reschedule an appointment within 24 hours and was charged 30% of the service cost because it was not within a 48‑hour window. This policy was not stated anywhere in my confirmation texts or emails. While I paid the fee, the lack of transparency combined with the decline in service quality has resulted in losing me as a client permanently.

Ten stars wouldn't be enough. There aren't many places…read morearound here where you find someone who genuinely loves their craft, but this salon is one of them. From the moment I called, I noticed a difference. He took his time over the phone, went over what services were included, and was completely upfront about pricing - no surprises later. When I sat in the chair, the experience spoke for itself. He wasn't chatting with other staff or rushing to get me out the door. He focused completely on my hair - how it moves, how it falls, and how to keep the length I wanted while giving me a fresh shape. His passion for his work comes through in the way he explains things and the way he approaches each cut. I asked him some specific questions about what would work best for me, and instead of the usual "well, what do you want?" attitude I've seen elsewhere, he calmly explained options and gave professional advice without any pressure. There was no ego, no sarcasm - just genuine care for the work he was doing. So many salons nowadays feel rushed and impersonal, but not here. This was a stylist who clearly loves what he does, and when someone loves their work, you can see it in the results. For anyone looking for that level of dedication, this is the kind of place that makes you remember why good service still matters.

He could throw additional services that in the long run could put stress on your hair and cause damage to make more money, but he is not that kind of person.
