I have a large camper van that's over 8 feet tall and over 8700 pounds, so it's not easy to find an auto repair shop to service it (even though it's basically a Dodge b3500 Van that dodge has been making for over 2 decades) Bill(manager) did some research and decided that he would take on my van for a starter RR. It was dropped off at 7:30am and was pleasantly surprised by a 11:30 pick-up call. Bill's quote for a starter RR was about $450, being a very good price as it would have been several hundred dollars more from a RV center and would be several weeks before they could get to it. The kicker being that it didn't need a starter after all, it was just a wire from starter to relay that need to be replaced, saving me hundreds of dollars more. I cannot say enough great things about 4th Street. I have taken my 10-year-old car there for several years and have never received anything but outstanding, honest, fairly-priced service. I trust them implicitly and as a person who is not particularly mechanically-minded, that's really important. Bill who takes the work in, distributes the work to the great techs and mechanics in the garage, is a very kind and knowledgeable person and answers every question I have. 4th street takes my car in, checks it out, Bill calls me with the quote and good explanation of what needs to be done and why and when! I never ever walk away feeling like I've been in any way bamboozled, quoted for services I didn't need, or anything close to that. The other great thing is that since my car is a Hyundai hybrid (and one of my kids has an old old BMW) if there are things that 4th Street knows are specific to our makes and models that is not their area of expertise, they'll tell me that as well so I can take the cars to the dealership or BMW-specific repair places. This has only happened a couple of times but I definitely have appreciated that guidance from Bill and staff. This place is AMAZING! Seriously, I first found them when my car's brakes were making a horrible noise. Bill was wonderful and did some diagnostics for me same day, but then pointed out it was an issue caused by the dealership and won't take my money. Fast forward to present day I purchased a van and it needed an oil change and I asked them to add an inspection, it was so detailed. I got the brakes replaced and a coolant flush. The shop was able to do all the work and have it back to me in a few days even though I told them it was low priority. I can't recommend them enough. read more

I highly recommend 4th Street Auto Care because they're honest, provide good customer service, and perform excellent work at reasonable prices. I drove into 4th Street Auto Care this morning with the undercarriage of my Acura TSX ripped back after a night of slaloming through the snow and ice. Bill took my car in right away without an appointment and repaired it while I waited. They did a great job, were honest, communicated about what went wrong, and explained how they repaired it, all in about 20 minutes. I brought my car to them once before for an oil change / scheduled maintenance, and to replace my brakes (as my dealer had recommended). 4th Street inspected my car and told me that replacing the brakes was unnecessary at this time. They could have made a buck off of me, but they were honest and delivered excellent service. And their service of my vehicle was much less than what the dealer would have charged. read more

Brought my car in for a small repair, prior to a road trip, with only 30 minutes notice and they got it done quickly and with a smile. I didn't ask how much it would cost, as they were well reviewed and I wanted to see how they would handle it. When they were done, they refused to take my money for 15 minutes of work, the repair was free of charge. They even checked the fluid levels and tire pressure to make sure I was all set for my trip. These guys were great. I hadn't yet found a new place to take my car in when I had issues (a family friend used to handle all of my issues but has since retired and moved away) and I was really nervous about finding a new place. Well... I've found my new place. I had a really pesky problem with my alternator. It would only act up sporadically. And Bill was very helpful talking me through my decisions. He told me what he would do but also made me feel very comfortable in making my own decisions, considering my car was not easy to diagnose (seriously, every time I drove it in, it acted fine once it got to the shop... GRRRR). Finally, when I decided to let them change the alternator, they had it done within a couple of hours. I had my car the same morning I dropped it off. And everytime I had a problem, they were so accomodating with my schedule. Seriously Bill and Terry were the best. I always trust 4th street auto. They do a great job and they are prompt with service and their communication. I went in their with squeaky brakes, fully intent on getting new ones, and they advised me that my brakes were fine and if I could get past the little bit of noise they will work fine. Most places would of just did as I asked and charged me for new brakes. read more

Overpriced ...OVER PRICED... he charged me 2 X the price of the parts... Alternators from Autozone was for $140 (remanufactured alternator) and the charged me $350 for the same item. He also charged me $57 just to charge my car battery (OMG, OMG, OMG). His hour rate is $108 which is not bad. $70 for belt ($30 at AutoZone) .. at the end of the day i Paid $750 for alternator change and belt....it's way overpriced, my friend got his alternator somewhere else and they charged him only $350 ( $120 for alternator). read more

Nice to have a local shop you can trust. They are honest and do a great job of communicating with you in regards to urgent repairs vs things that can be dealt with in the future. Although they might not be the cheapest on the block, they are the most honest and do quality, trustworthy repairs that they are willing to warranty. Plus, who really wants to go to the cheapest guy on the block and end up just having to have it redone or go to the dealership who will just replace a part and charge you because the manual says its time rather than actually checking the part.
