My car had been hit in an accident, and was towed to Mr. Dinh auto repair. It had also coincidentally stopped on me on the freeway. Before even starting with the physical damage of the car, Mr. Dinh checked out my engine which was shot and would need to be replaced. The engine cost more than my car was worth, so fixing the physical damage wasn't worth it. Mr. Dan was honest enough to tell me the truth and not take the insurance money knowing that my car wouldn't have worked anyway. I appreciate his honesty, even though he couldn't really help me. Mr. Dinh is one of the most honest people I have come across. I have a Tesla Model 3 that some idiot hit in the parking lot of Trader Joe's. Unfortunately, their was a dent on the passengers side part of the car near the back corner of the car (by the brake light) Mr. Dinh told me since it was in the corner, it would be thought to get out. He also said that the paint on the bumper would have to be replaced because it was scraped during the accident. I explained that I was a teacher, and he gave me an honest, reasonable price! Follow up to my previous review. Mr.Dinh and I had a couple conversations and he even refunded some of the cost of tbe repair. I didn't post a negative review on his work. It was the way the whole business transaction was handled that caused me to post it. But I want to rescind some harsh criticism here. Mr.Dinh acknowledged the points of mt critique and we both came to the agreement that the transaction could have handled differently, but for a few instances where odd chance caught us off guard. It takes a big man come to the point to acknowledge and have a civil conversation about a business deal where one party was feeling taken advantage of. After driving to Detroit from Chicago, I noticed that the driver's side front wheel on my Saturn Vue had developed a pronounced squeak at slow speeds (which changes sound and stops when braking). Since it was the Monday before July the Fourth, I was fairly certain that all the auto repair shops were closed. However, I didn't want to cancel my travel plans in Detroit, so I started calling up all the auto shops listed on Yelp. Dinh's was not only open all day, but they had consistently awesome Yelp reviews. I headed right over, and they replaced my front brake pads and rotors for around half of what it would have cost me in Chicago. I was in and out within two hours (which I spent at a nearby Coffee shop). The mechanics at Dinh's were friendly, honest and very professional (didn't try to sell extra services I didn't need). I would recommend these guys to anyone who needs a quick and reasonably priced auto repair. My only disappointment is that they don't have a place like Dinh's in Chicago. read more

I hope dinh lives forever so he can fix my cars!!! When i first went here I was 19 years old with my first car and i wanted EVERYTHING fixed in it and had the money to do so. Dinh could have taken me and my pockets to the cleaners but he never did. I wanted to fix things in that car that were completely unnecessary but he always explained to me how unnecessary it was as opposed to doing the repair. Now I am 31 and will always be loyal. Plus I have sent friends to him and they have nothing but good to say ( my mother especially). I have sent friends and family to him for years. He is such a car geek that he researches them in his down time and completes your sentence when you call in regarding a problem. He already knows what the issue is and can always fix it. Is he the cheapest? Would you even go to the cheapest guy? I would not. He taught me the value in NOT using after market parts on certain repairs but using quality (brakes) parts. Mr Dinh is a throwback type of businessman and mechanic. Honest, and up front with prices, competent, and will tell you whether he can do the job or not. His mechanics are nice guys, too. I looked around the area for problems with my breaks and a general inspection and came across Dinh's. I've been looking for a local mechanic I could trust, and knowing a bit about the car, was interested in what they would say as an unsuspecting young woman entering the garage. I have done a decent amount of work on vehicles, but didn't let them know this. I was really impressed right away with the inspection of the truck and the attitude of the owner. They lifted the vehicle and walked me through both the issue I had, and allowed me to visually inspect several other issues that I knew were going to be imminent for my recently purchased used 2001 Tacoma. I was told the relative risks of doing various components of the work, and also given options to delay some of the work if I wanted. The leak in the master cylinder was repaired (vital for the breaks), as well as issues with an inner tie rod and inner ball joint on the front wheels. Whenever possible I was given the option for used parts or repair of existing parts to avoid the cost going up. I also got a catalytic convertor and replaced the exhaust resonator, as well as replacement of the power steering pump. This work was all done rapidly, and I was even asked if I wanted them to drive me home and pick me up if needed to get to the garage. I was also given a test drive with the mechanic after the job was done. I must say it felt like I had a new truck! I've already reached out to Dinh's for additional work, and plan to get help with my winter tires. Thanks for the great work guys, keep it up! read more
