Front door with a cowbell --it closes at 3 (or before)

An authentic mom and pop diner with authenticity good food. If you want to experience a real southwestern home cooked meal with friendly service, this is the best place this stretch of the Hwy. The burgers are cooked to order with home fried potatoes (grown locally). The breakfast burrito is stuffed with goodness and the green chili perfectly spicy with chunks of pork. Be sure to save room for the homemade pie! There is absolutely nothing pretentious about this place --it's dusty with chips in the wall but it's real. Plus Saguache (sa-watch) is an authentic tiny western town off the beaten path that shouldn't be missed.

5 Star as a "Local Dinner" with that "Home Town" feel in the high country Ester greats you and serves you : service is great Tried her namesake "Ester's Omelet" with extra spinach = really good!!!

The restaurant, cozy wood stove, and diner counter.

If you are driving through and need a place to eat and want to feel like home, this is it. Guests were local and travelers but all chatted like friends and family. The food from standard diner menu was great. Nice and fresh and well made but I hear the bakery goods are fantastic! Ester even has a map of the world and travelers and locals alike can draw a picture and leave a note with where they are from. You don't always get this kind of goodness on the road.

Swiss mushroom burger with fries

Good place, good food. The burger they gave me was huge! It was very good as well. The french fries were classic and also good. An odd thing I noticed was that they didn't have any honey mustard, bbq sauce, or ice when we asked. Those things are pretty common in diners so I was a bit disappointed in that. But the food was great!

Good Reuben and Denver Omelet. See pic, looks tasty. Staff was very pleasant and abided by good hygiene which was appreciated based on COVID concerns.

It came highly recommended. Lovely little place with great and friendly service! Food was fantastic!!! STOP what you are doing and get in here if you are nearby!

Just had lunch here. Ordered a salad. Came with hair in it, ugh-gross. Didn't plan on flossing while eating. Took it off my bill- how gracious. AS IF! Like I planned on finishing it anyway. Didn't offer a replacement, apology or anything. Just to remove the charge. Disgusting behavior. Also, ordered coffee and and she told me she didn't know how to make it! What!!

Good food. Wonderful proprietors. Don't go there if you're in a hurry. But if you want the ambience of a little old Western town, go for it!

The half order of Hawaiian French toast I had was very good as well as my eggs and toast. The dine in area is nice and usually they very busy, but the food comes out fast and your coffee cup never runs dry. Overall, overall the best sit down breakfast place in this area and I has another great experience.

The restaurant part of the Silver Cliff Mountain Inn is known as Willie's! At first we were…read moresomewhat confused, however, I am really glad we sorted it out!!! Our breakfast was nothing short of fabulous!!! My wife ordered the Red Velvet waffles that had scrambled eggs and bacon on the side. I ordered the Eggs Benedict that was smothered in Hollandaise sauce and hash browns - not something that you will get at home on a regular basis. WOW!!! Both entrees were so good that it will have us coming back for more!! We had the privilege of meeting Willie as he was working the crowd. As we travel around the country, I find that if the manager/owner is working the crowd it's bound to be a great place - for sure in this case with Willie's. I told him that I call that "Leadership On Duty"!!! Three staff members also worked our table. Bow, Terri, and Summer, each had a division of duties and, as a result, we were really taken care of. The ambience was truly out of the western small town mode - clean, efficient service, and fabulous food. Four cups of the best coffee and a full stomach and was time to hit the road back home. Give Willie's a try as you will not be disappointed. Be sure to say "hi" to Willie, Bow, Terri, and Summer - they are the best.
