Our first time back since the pandemic and change of ownership. Great place to stop for good food and service. The menu is diverse with burgers, sandwiches and tacos. We each had catfish (tacos and po'boys) with side salads. The entrees have a choice of interesting sides--cheesy tater tots or cheesy sprouts, veggies your way, asparagus. Portions are generous. It's a good place for families. Not a lot of options for the vegetarian if you don't eat fish but they do have rice and beans. Food is classic cafe.

We have now eaten here several times. What a great addition to the South Fork food scene. Finally, American food with a twist! The Candie's burger is one of the best burgers ever! Great food, great service and nice people.

Best burger and "eagle eggs" I've ever eaten!! 1/2 pound beef patty cooked to perfection on a crisp brioche bun with all of the fixings! So good we went back the next morning for breakfast! Delicious Southwest twist on eggs Benedict and wonderful biscuits and gravy! If you're ever passing through South Fork, this is a must stop place for a delicious, original meal! The proprietor, Candace, is a sweetheart!

Fantastic food and a great atmosphere. I would recommend the catfish tacos and a three barrel beer!

Good service and food is great. Little pricey however the food makes you forget the price a little bit.

Food was unreal. Finished skiing and got the candie burger and split the Buffalo Mac. Omg.... So good. I wish I could give 6 stars.

Went back for dinner after a long day of snowmobiling and got the best burger I have had, like, EVER.

Thirty minutes later, we came back and table still wasn't ready so we sat in their heated tent on the side yard and drank some Manhattans while we waited. Our table was worth the wait - got a great booth table near the front of the restaurant! The four of us split the mushroom risotto, eggplant caponata, grilled cabbage, lamb kabobs and half roasted chicken. I think we all agreed the grilled cabbage was our favorite dish with the delicious romesco sauce! My husband and I also really enjoyed the half roasted chicken - the others thought it was slightly salty, but the cook was perfect and had a nice and crispy skin. The eggplant was also very tasty and fresh and came with some grilled bread - our server suggested extra bread and it was a little annoying to be charged $2 for extra bread especially since he recommended it for a party of four. Besides that, our server was super attentive and took great care of us. Really enjoyed this elevated meal in Salida!

We got the pretzel as an appetizer.... The pretzel was greasy and so was the cheese they gave with it. The cheese seemed frozen, then microwaved. It had a really dull/greasy taste and odd texture. The French dip was like rubber. And the au jus sauce was bland. For her the best part was the side salad. She even said her beer had an odd taste to it. My chicken sandwich had no flavor. The red potatoes where severly over cooked on the outside and under cooked on the inside. My drink (the house black cherry cream soda), was really good the first glass! Second glass was flat and very syrupy. The server briefly came by a couple times. He would quickly ask "everything ok?", as he rushed by. He wasn't horrible, but he wasn't great either. Overall we where very unimpressed. Not somewhere we'll be returning to. For the price, I had better expectations.
