Looking at previous reviews I had high hopes going in. As me and my partner ventured in we were met with a takeout only sign which is not a deal breaker but a warning to others going in the next few months as they are renovating the inside. The service was pleasant and the cashier helped lead us with some good options. What I did not like was the food quality, I'm not sure if in the recent months they have been shorthanded or had a staff turnover but we got some soggy fries, little to no sauce burgers and just not an amazing meal all around. Walked in and ordered classic philly, Mac and cheese and a small fountain drink ($20.65) at 3:24 and didn't receive my order until 4:01. One other person came in to pick up an order, otherwise I was the only customer the entire time. The employee behind the counter was occupied with watching the tv screen. The food was awesome!! The hamburger was soooo good. Everything was fresh. The fries are delicious! Stole a bite of my grandsons chicken tender and the chicken was phenomenal!! We had the $3.00 margarita's and they were better than any expensive margarita I have ever had. Our waitress was awesome! She was friendly and helpful. She was great with my two year old grandson. Wings and burgers are phenomenal! Not a bunch of seating on the inside, but it's simple and clean. Service at the counter was great!

I ordered takeout. I prepaid and just went in and grabbed my order. I got a double cheeseburger with bacon. It was pretty good. There wasn't an easy way to tell them to remove tomato. So I had tomato on it, which isn't ideal. The burger was tall - and the sandwich sorta fell apart when trying to dip it in mayo when I took bites. The bun was also soppy from that dumb tomato and maybe the pickles. But it was a good burger. I'd say 4/5 stars. We also got a Nashville hot chicken sandwich and that was also pretty good. The chicken was a piece of chicken breast and it was thick like you'd expect. Nicely cooked, crispy breading - although the pickles and time in the bag also made the breading less than ideal crispness but takeout sucks and food isn't ideal when you have to drive home 12 mins before you eat. I'd rate the chicken Sammy at least 4 stars. The staff was friendly. When I was picking up it was just the counter person and the grill person. read more

New burger joint in town! This is a "soft open" until this Friday when they officially open for business. The gal at the register was very sweet, but still getting to know the menu and the POS for food input. We live relatively close by and strangely there isn't a burger place that's a sit down place near the neighborhood. (Outside of going downtown or something fast food places. ) I was eager to have some mac and cheese but they were sadly out. Husband ordered their bacon cheeseburger, but they had run out of bacon. So I ordered their small wings with 4x4 sauce (mix of ketchup and mayo, essentially) and asked for their Jamaican jerk sauce to try. Service was very good. People were extremely nice. The atmosphere is relaxed and clean. They're just ironing out the kinks right now. I'm sure once they get going, they'll find their groove. There were many people ordering food to go, and seemed happy! We will come back again and get some of the things we missed this time around. Do not go to this place I went yesterday and got chicken strips. They were bland( not season) and tuff chicken. This place will not last long. Cole slaw nasty fries nasty not season. 4X4 is a great local spot that has quick and appropriately priced eats. Stopped in for lunch with a peer and we both ordered the Nashville chicken sandwich and fries. Chicken was moist, Nashville sauce was spicy and flavorful. Bun stood up to the chicken and sauce well. Fries were fresh and hot. Service was quick as well. While eating the fantastic Nashville fried chicken meals, the owner stopped by with some of their wings for us to try. Honestly, they STOLE THE SHOW! Wings are amazing! Crispy, enough sauce to get the flavor as well as have a bit leftover for to dip your fries in! Stellar wings - not spicy, but wonderfully elegant and fragrant. Tried this for the first time and it was great! My friend and I each tried a sub (Steak Mushroom Philly and Traditional Chicken) and both were good, as were the fries with 4x4 sauce. The food is suspect...bad quality, doesn't look edible. Probably would not feed it to a dog. The food on college campuses is getting worse by the day. It seems like businesses don't care what they feed students anymore, especially when places take advantage of the drunk ones who don't have any idea what they're actually eating...and how contaminated/repulsive it can be. The food at 4x4 is sloppily-made, looks worse in person than in the photos. Talk about stomach problems after this. It is poorly presented, and has so much sauce that you can barely tell what you're eating. If the food looked better then they wouldn't have to hide so much of it under a bunch of sauce and cheese. Look at these chicken wings in the DoorDash photo: Worst looking chicken wings I've ever seen. Looks like the chicken was deformed and sick, and died long before it ever got made into wings. In my opinion, they should do better. This is a bad excuse for a food establishment, whose obvious concern is quantity over quality, and keeping the general public ignorant to the unappetizing food that is being pushed out to us. read more

Two friends and I went to the 4X4 for the first time. We each had a different sandwich . . . Nashville Chicken, Zinger Chicken and White people steak. Each of us loved our selection and would have it again. Also, the fries covered in cheese (homemade!) was to die for . . . the best I've ever had.
