I have been to a lot of 5.11 stores in California and the employees are always helpful and friendly. Additionally, most of the selection is the same with a few differences. One of the differences as opposed to California is that they carry Stiletto Knives, Also Known As CIA Gravity Knives. They are approximately 4.5 inches long and the blade deploys and retracts from the grip using a dual throw (Forward and Back) button or switch. Very cool! Don't worry California, I did not buy one, as cool as they are. Yup, all of the fun stuff is illegal in California, like butterfly knives, Stilettos and firearms with the "Fun Button" (Safe-Semi-Auto) on them. Sigh! One light at the end of the tunnel was "Jerry". Be nice to Jerry, he is a cool guy but if you get on his nerves, that's on you. All I can say is that he has seen some stuff and he may be the definition of "F" around and find out. Jerry is very knowledgeable and he pointed my nephew in the direction of the perfect tactical backpack, among other accessories and toys that will compliment his new career in federal law enforcement. I did not buy much, except for a memorable patch. I get one from each 5.11 I visit, just to say "Been there, my dude!" Overall, it is a large store with a lot of selection. If you are looking for some discounted or marked down winter ware, now is the time to check it out. I found a neat jacket, however I live in the Sweltering Summer portion of California and triple digit temperatures are less than a month away. So, I passed on the jacket. However, if you are Military, Law Enforcement, EMS, Fire Department, Practical Pistol Shooter, Multi-Platform (Pistol & Long Gun) competitor, or a First Responder of any kind and you need boots, pants, "Shorts", a tactical carrier (No Ballistic Plates are sold here, to my knowledge), morale patches, a quick snap tourniquet or some gym attire,... Amazing products but some of the worst customer service I have experienced, and on multiple occasions. Staff is so unhelpful and acts like I'm a burden when I ask for help. Just order online or take your business somewhere else. I've given this location multiple second chances and I'm done with it. read more

Very frustrated with the customer service given to me at this location. The staff was not very helpful with resolving my issue. I ended up leaving after being a customer here for years. I feel that the company refuses to acknowledge the customer. I tried to resolve my issue with the Manager and she failed to assist me with my concerns. I have been to this store many times and most of the time I have felt very uncomfortable there. I personally think that the sales associates are very unfriendly, and they don't provide good member service. They barely greet me and I have never seen anyone smile, which of course is not required, but makes the whole visit more enjoyable. Another example of a bad member service: I asked them to order something online for me and they almost refused to help me. I had to order the item by myself on my phone in the store. 5.11 would do a good job if they would train their employees in friendliness and member service, and if necessary to replace the management. I am very sorry to write this kind of negative review, I really like 5.11, but this store is a no go, and represents 5.11 very poorly. read more

This is a great store to try their products. It's a good thing cause the fit on "tactical" clothing can be very different and it does help to try things on. The staff is very helpful. They also honor the sale prices you get on their website. Now you don't have to wait to get it shipped to you. They also have an excellent exchange policy. Also open seven days a week. read more

This was our first time at 5.11. We were greeted and welcomed as soon as we walked in and we were thanked for coming in as we left. Nice people! We weren't there for long. We were short on time, but I wanted to quickly stop in a try on a pair of Wyldcat pants. I'm not sure I liked them, but they had a large inventory and I'm positive I'll find tactical pants I'll love! They had a lot of types of jackets and shirts and I wanted every single one. My husband saw a bunch of stuff he liked too. Hats, jackets, shoes, belts, packs, bags, watches, flashlights...a lot of fun stuff. I could easily drop a lot of money here and not feel guilty. I had good experiences when I was helped by Paul friendly and knowledgeable about everything in the store. I regularly spend on average 100+ whenever I have time to come by... But my last visit on May 13, 2018, I was trying to ask Cameron for help and he seemed annoyed even though he was free, so when he had time I told him I only have a budget within my gift card limit which was about 170 give or take a few dollars that I was looking for outdoor hiking clothing, and he kept budging that I buy one of the coats which costed 200+, obviously out of my price range; he was one sided when we got on topic about controversial topics, for example kept going on about how there could be a genocide in America in the next 30 years while i kept denying it , he kept insisting it can happen and i felt extremely uncomfortable with him after that and wanted someone else to help assist me, but he was the only one that was available unfortunately because it was last day of 20% off sale so it was pretty busy for everyone else working the store. Asked about return policy for the gloves I don't use and again he seemed annoyed and 1st told me no receipt, no return. but then finally I got the gloves out of my car and was able to make the return searching me on the computer. I commented saying the quality keeps going down every time I come in, that people that work there besides Paul and Steve are not attentive, and this is where he gets hostile saying "listen, I'm doing everything you want, if you want to have a sit down with Steve our store manager, we can do that and we won't have this problem with you , you understand me?" With a hostile tone of voice, I felt extremely flustered as I have never been spoken to like that before, and I'm a fairly new customer that comes in every few weeks to buy an abundance of items, so i looked at him and said, "yeah, I understand" and he said "OKAY" and went about doing my return with a frustrated look on his face. And for all I said above Cameron is the sole reason I will not be returning. Unprofessional, extremely hostile demeanor, and didn't seem to give a care in the world about what I needed. the last thing I bought was a hogue automatic knife. A shoutout to Steve and Paul who were the only people that helped me understand the products to make a good informed decision and overall friendly folks. Walking into 5.11 Tactical for the first time I was downright impressed -- it is a great looking store with well merchandised products, nice displays, and good looking products. The staff was really helpful and knowledgeable. I ended up purchasing two pairs of their tactical pants, which I absolutely love. The pants are well-made, durable, and very comfortable to wear. This 5.11 store is filled with excellent employees. I was helped by Cameron specifically and his knowledge about the products, comparison, other brands, and the industry was impressive. Cameron was very friendly, professional, and went above and beyond any of the other employees. I cant speak more highly of my experience with him. Have bought backpacks and boots from here before, so I've been in the store multiple times. I purchased a pair of shorts online and had to return them as they were defective. Cameron Jones, who said he was the manager, said he wouldn't cover my shipping costs and would only refund the price of the shorts. What company doesn't cover shipping costs when refunding? I also told him I paid with PayPal and he said he didn't care and would refund me on any card I wanted. He didn't check my order number, so anyone could've walked in and gotten a "refund". Love the products but the management at this location is awful. The refund policy is also a nightmare. You're much better off going to Cabela's or any other outdoor store. read more

Outstanding clothing and outstanding service. Cameron was especially helpful with explaining all of the intricate details engineered into the clothing. The attention to detail designed into the 511 clothing is impressive. Equally impressive is the staffs knowledge of their product line and the friendly and casual way they communicate that with their customers. I really like this place.
