Nick is absolutely one of the best trainers you'll find. I needed someone who could teach me all about the various ways I can get in and stay in shape without tying me to a gym or require a bunch of equipment. His extensive knowledge of anatomy (not just muscles and the nervous system and such) and physiology, along with ancient and time-tested movement techniques help arm me with knowledge I can use the rest of my life. I love both practicing and teaching yoga and dance. I am also a long time friend of Nick. We practiced and trained in various styles of yoga over for a couple weeks while I was visiting California. Nicks new home studio surrounded by his fruit gardens and cactus farm is clean and inviting, and we enjoyed sunny yoga practice by the pool whenever weather allowed. I joined a couple of his yoga 23 small group sessions on Saturday mornings. I have never tried a dynamic movement style of yoga and really enjoyed this challenging practice. We also worked individually in private sessions throughout the week. I have been practicing yoga for over 10 years and became a yoga teacher three years ago. I have worked with instructors from various backgrounds and teaching styles, and learned more about how to adjust and correct my posture in poses. Nick could quickly and easily identify both my problem areas and strengths, and gave me customized training, poses, and variations to improve and expand my practice. We also began working on inversions and aerial yoga. Nick was patient and encouraging, and helped me begin working in these areas which I have been afraid to try for years. He gave me detailed instructions to be able to succeed as a beginner, and made me feel super safe in these new poses. Nick was extremely professional and respectful throughout our training. I found Nick at a yoga class at one of the larger chain gyms in Sorrento Valley. Even in my first class with him I knew that he was a gem. I liked that he was not afraid to think outside of the box and teach some different techniques outside of your basic gym vinyasa yoga poses. He really spiked my interest when he mentioned in one of his classes that he specialized in helping people who have been in car accidents. His workout sessions and classes are routinely modified to fit the changing seasons & how our bodies respond to them. At the onset of each training session, Nick asks what fitness & physiological issues I may have, so that he can tailor our session to address them. Our sessions have included yoga, acrobatic yoga, strengthening, weights, machines, TRX, stretches, and massages. After suffering for many years from lower back pain from a boot camp burpee, Nick has been able to help me strengthen my back & core muscles to relieve the pain. I first met Nick at Ignight flow festival, were he taught classes and also performed. I immediately was drawn to his down to earth technique both teaching and performing & was completely blown away at this event! Meeting him outside of that and to be able to learn from him has been a true honor to say the least...Nick is an amazing facilitator who takes all of his wisdom very seriously and with the best approach, so it makes learning from him extremely fun. Injuries? Chronic pain? Call Nick first. Being an aerialist, yogi, dancer, snowboarder and runner, I tended to get injured or have some kind of minor pain somewhat often, but what Nick did in a few personal training sessions, helped me more than trying to "let it heal" or figuring it out on my own for MONTHS. He has a very in-depth knowledge of the body and alignment and can help you get to the root cause of any pain, show you exercises to rebalance your body, and help speed healing time exponentially. Aerial arts/circus training tends to work one side of my body more than the other and exacerbates some muscle imbalances and Nick is able to point them out and show me how to fix those to avoid injuries in the future. My wrist injury felt better after even a few minutes of him working with me and my knee injury got was almost at 100% range of motion after one session. Nick Capobianco is an excellent personal trainer. Over the years, I've worked with several very good trainers, but Nick really stands out. His knowledge of anatomy, movement, and dynamics is at least one or two levels above the run of the mill trainer, and he is continually learning new techniques. When crafting a personal exercise program, he's able to select from a broader range of exercises than other trainers I've had. He's been particularly effective in helping me diminish the after effects of the various sports injuries I've accumulated over the years (before coming to him). I also enjoy his yoga classes. I've been training with Nick for a year and have been constantly impressed by the breadth and depth of his knowledge and experience. My routine covers strength training (weights), functional training (yoga, acro yoga, handstands, performing arts, etc.), dynamic stretching, and corrective exercises.
