Great job reupholstering a 20 year old settee. It was not a particularly expensive piece but has sentimental value and was in desperate need of an update. They showed me fabric, pointed out a better fabric that was less expensive than my first choice, picked up the piece that same day and got the work done quickly and for a fair price. I wanted upholstery work done on my bed frames and took a picture of what I wanted. I took my own leather material to them for this project. They assured me that they can achieve this look. They sent me measurements of what they were going to do. However when they sent pictures of what they did. I immediately told them that the work was not as their measurements nor as the pictures I sent them. They then told me that it would be a copyright if they did it as the picture and the word COPYRIGHT was never mentioned to me before for months until now . They're now telling have to pay them for their services since they put in labor. A customer should not have to pay for what was not agreed upon, especially when they have assured them that they can deliver. They have messed up my leather. read more

Oscar just delivered 3 upholstered chairs, an ottoman and 2 wooden chairs with covered seats. They did a beautiful job! I had selected fabrics with stripes and also a large buffalo check - they matched the patterns so well - they all really look great! I went to the shop twice and met with Wilmer (the owner) - he was very nice and gave me helpful advice on using nail heads. They picked up and delivered my furniture. New York Upholstery in Snellville GA just completed my 4-piece sectional sofa and it is incredibly beautiful. The details that I wanted returned to the sofa, were all addressed. We recently used NY Upholstery and Fabrics to reupholster 2 chairs and an ottoman. Several friends recommended them. I was not disappointed. Good value, good workmanship, good customer service. The finished products are gorgeous. I appreciated being able to do free estimates w Wilmer (the manager and upholsterer) via email/text. Very convenient. I brought in my own fabric because I had something very specific that I wanted to use. However, they have a large selection of fabrics at reasonable prices. Someone previously commented that their store is a mess. Is it messy? There are rolls of fabric everywhere, yes, but to me that's ok. It's more like a big workroom than a showroom. There's nothing pretentious or intimidating about this comfy little shop. (If you are looking for a boutique shopping experience (with prices to match), you are better off going to Calico Corners. ) Wilmer's sons did the initial pick up and delivery of our furniture. They were friendly and prompt. They made sure they knew exactly what I wanted and took detailed notes. They asked several questions about tiny details that I would never have thought about. When they delivered the "new" items, they made sure I was happy before they left. They made me sit down to see if the new foam inserts were ok. I recently took a chair in for reupholstery and was given a quote by the owner of $250. I left the chair and told him I was looking for fabric. I didn't find anything in his store so I asked will the price be the same if I get my fabric somewhere else and He said yes. The next time I came in I was dealing with his son. he removed the base of the chair for me so I could stain it. At that time he said I needed new padding that would be another $50. At the time I agreed. I was still looking for fabric. I found the fabric and took it in to have the chair covered. I told the son then that I changed my mind and decided not to get the new padding. At that point he said the cost of the chair would be $335! I said what about the quote I had for $250? He said If I didn't have it in writing , he would not honor that price. I could have bought a new chair for that price! I realized that he was just trying to get me to buy the foam padding and their fabric so he could jack up the price. I have had other furniture re covered by them before and was given the same treatment. This is just bad business. I will not go there again, and will not recommend this business. Wilmar is an artist. I have had several chairs upholstered by him in which all have been completed with the upmost craftsmanship. His last creation were two highback chairs that I purchased in Highpoint, NC 20 years ago. My new upholstered chairs are more modern and sleek with great piping detail. His work is state of the art. Their work looks just like their store... a mess. I brought a whole chair in to be reupholstered. When I came 2 weeks later to pick it up, they only brought out my chair cushion and NO chair! I then explained I had left the whole wooden chair with them. They went to the back and came out front with my cushion and chair attached. Once the chair was in my chair I then looked at their work only to find gold paint all over the sides and top of the wood on my chair. I then got the owner to come back out and fix the problem. He stated that they did not use gold paint and did not know where it came from. I will never use them again and advise you to look elsewhere. read more
