The reviews for this place aren't great but I actually had a great experience. I had acrylic nails done at another nail place in FoCo but had a nail lift painfully so I went in here for a fill and to have the nail fixed. They got me in immediately and a petit man did my nails. He was very precise and while he didn't speak much English, he understood what I wanted when I showed him photos and was very patient and accommodating. My nails look really nice, better than they did before! I wish I remembered his name but I'd let him do my nails again. They also offer complimentary beverages, some alcoholic, during your service. Worst manicure in my life. I walked in there with 1/2 inch oval nails and left with uneven nubs. So short I left without polish! My technician spoke NO English, and had no idea what I was requesting (cut down to 1/4 inch and shaped). And she cut my cuticle so badly that it wouldn't stop bleeding--she ended up using nail glue (aka crazy glue) to stop the bleeding. And she did not get new tools from the autoclave--she just pulled them from a drawer. Can't wait to get a fungal infection! By the time I realized it, it was too late. They are offering 20% off to all their customers--I know why. Not all the techs are bad, but mine was horrific. Don't even know her name, but long auburn hair with bangs. Today my daughter and I went to get pedicures and a manicure. The gentleman that worked with my daughter was rushed and tough with her. He peeled off her shellac off rather than sanding. Then while doing her pedicure he jumped between she and another client. Her nails are lumpy and missing the edges. The message was rushed and was not an actual message. Both technicians used Emory boards and pumice stones that did not appear to be clean. I hope we do not end up with infections. We will continue to find our go to place. read more

I came in yesterday and asked if I could get a gel manicure that looked like the top photo. During the manicure I grew concerned and kept showing the worker the inspo picture. I got the impression that this really bothered her. Like that I was assuming she couldn't do something so easy. She seemed annoyed I kept showing it to her. So I thought I should just trust the process. At the end, I asked her to clean it up a bit. She did, but I felt like this annoyed her and I felt like a Karen for asking. Worst experience ever. My friend and I had an appointment and waited 50 minutes to be seated in pedicure chairs. The guys that did our pedicures were super unfriendly and did not make eye contact. They appeared to be quite unhappy to be there. My guy cut my big toe cuticle too close which caused a wound. Hope I don't get an infection. Boo! He also was rough when "massaging" my calf. The employees are very nice, however the last 4 times I have gone in, my nails break within 5 days.

The salon is under new ownership and they are awesome. Super friendly, the pedicure massage was awesome and my nails looked fantastic.

This joint gives decent manicures. The staff seems a bit unorganized, and it took two people to use the credit card machine for the customer in front of me. I got a simple manicure, no complaints- first time in the area- will probably go back. read more

I got an inexperienced man who gave me cold water to soak my fingers in, he didn't seem to know how to use the nippers, he barely rubbed lotion on my hands and arms, and thought that filing the top of my nails was buffing them I should've run when I walked in and another woman was complaining about the horrible price for what she received. Worst pedicure of my life. There is one above average tech there named Lisa. Unfortunately, Lisa was busy so another woman did pedicure. She barely touched each nail with cuticle pusher. She barely touched around cuticles and trimmed nothing. She spend more time taking smeared polish off my skin around nails than actually dabbing polish here and there on the nail. And to top it off I had to ask repeatedly for her to use clean/new emory board and foot scrubber. All nail implements tossed in plastic basket and not changed or cleaned between customers. Ick! I went here twice and my nails are ruined. The first time seemed fine but after my second visit nails started cracking and breaking. My nails have never done this before and when I was able to get back to my regular girl she wasn't surprised who did this to my nails. After my last visit to Five Star nail spa I promised myself I would not return. I also wrote about my experience and did not give a nice review. Shortly after I posted my review the manager emailed me to apologize about the unfortunate experience I had at his store. He was very genuine and sincere about my less than pleasant visit, he even offered me a free service if I gave them another chance... After I received his apology I felt it was the right thing to do and give them another chance. Not wanting any special treatment or a free service, I used an alias name and got a pedicure. I am SOOO happy I gave them another chance and even happier to see that they had such an improvement. Even the employees seemed happier with each other - overall a much more relaxing and peaceful atmosphere. The massage part of my pedi was awesome, it almost gave me goose bumps. The good kind. I am so happy to report a better review for Five Star Nail Spa, it is more than evident the manager was sincere in his apology and they really have made changes to improve. Well done. read more

Oh my !! BENJI is amazing !! He is from Vegas and is a PRO at doing nails. He's new but sits in the same chair as who I used to go here, Queenie so I knew he had to be good. I actually came a few days before to get my nail fixed after it snapped from a different salon. I was watching how he was doing the clients nails he was with at the time and I knew he was going to do great with mine. He's very personable and easy to talk to. Funny and listens and cares about how you want your nails done. He is a perfectionist which I am also with my nails and took his time but not too long and made sure they were perfect ! I have had so many compliments and not issues on my nails. I would recommend every woman who likes their nails gorgeous to go to him! If I could give him 10 stars, I would. Usually go to the #1 Salon in Fort Collins, but as I work near here, and there were staff changes recently at my salon, I decided to try something new. It is HUGE! There were at least 15 others getting nails done at the same time as me! And that was only in the front of the shop. In the back, all the pedicure chairs are lined up. Another 4 or 5 clients were back there. I was here to get my month-old gel polish removed and reapplied. My manicurist first wrapped my nails in small squares of aluminum foil with a small piece of cotton soaked in acetone placed on top of the nail. She went to get the color I'd picked out, (over 100 gel colors, I think! The most I have seen!) After she put the color down at the station, she went to get the tools. I was impressed to see her return with a hermetically sealed package of fresh tools. She scraped the old gel off, filed and shaped my nails, and trimmed my cuticles. She also brought back a couple plastic bags, squirted some lotion in them, and placed one hand in each, which she squished in the lotion to disperse, then had me place my hands in some kind of hand heaters. I think it was to deep moisturize the hands before she trimmed the cuticles. Afterward, I washed my hands, and she painted the nails. Hanna was very talented and gently. I enjoyed her hand and forearm massage too. This all took about 40 minutes, and I paid $35 for the whole shebang! I will definitely come back and get the pedicure next week. read more

We just got done with a 7 mile hike and went for a pedicure with my 2 sons. The ladies that did theirs were great and took the time to do it right. The man was in a hurry. 3 stars because the foot massage was great with my tired feet and legs and the girls that did my kids. He ripped my shillac of my toe nails and then charges me $5 extra and he didn't file my nails at all so they are uneven and sharp on the edges. Now I have to fix them myself so I don't cut up my legs while sleeping. I do wish I would have read the reviews before stopping in. Don't live in the area so not a problem to not return. read more

I came in for a pedicure and the water was cold, I figured it's always hot so I would let the water warm up before I made any requests, it didn't so I asked the guy if I could get warmer water. He seemed irritated by it and started pulling the water out with a small bucket. He started doing my toes and when I asked for him to cut my pinky toe smaller and also my big toe was crooked, and also to get my hang nails. He seemed grouchy about it so I asked if he was a little grouchy today and he said no and why? I thought maybe he would get a little nicer and he didn't, he cut all my nails on my right foot round after cutting the left foot straight. So I told him I wanted straight toenails and he apologized and I was frustrated at this point with how grouchy he was, he wasn't taking his time and doing a terrible job. I asked for someone else, he told me there wasn't anyone else for me and put my shoes on me and made me leave. I asked if I could wait for someone else, and he said no! This place has gone way downhill! I WAS a long-term customer and generally happy. The last few times the tech rushed through the manicure, did a terrible job cutting the cuticles, and barely covered the nails with polish. I paid the $20 extra for "long-lasting" polish and all fingers chipped after 2-3 days. On my subsequent visit I told them about it, even showed them pictures of the chipped nails, but they refused to give me a complimentary polish. Not a very clean place to get a pedicure. I am a bit of a germaphobe, but this place was bad. The utensils used for my pedicure were placed back in the container labeled "sterilized" and put back in the drawer. I couldn't believe it. The gentleman that gave me my manicure/pedicure was nice, but this nail salon is way overpriced for what it was. I got a shellac mani and regular pedi for $63! I have been to other nail salons that have done a way better job for way lower of a price. My shellac manicure began to lift up and peel a week after. I ended up stopping here on my way home from shopping. I thought from the reviews that it was al least going to be good. Boy was I wrong. I wish I had just waited until I had more time this weekend. Perhaps my tech was having an off day. Or perhaps the tech I had isn't as good as the techs that the other reviewers had. To me, this place is average. It's just okay. The decor is just like any other salon I've been to. A little pricey I think - $28 for the most basic pedicures. If it was amazing, I would be totally fine with paying that much, but it's just decent. It was worth $20, maybe. The callous scrubbing was okay and so was the cuticle care. The massage was good. The nail tech got polish all over my toes and cuticles. He said my nails were too short - well, you shaped and filed them! Nice location and good value for the money. The salon is nice and I really like their massage chairs and menu of services. I did the 5 start treatment mani/pedi combo for $61. It includes the parafin dip and longer massage. Massage was lack luster (please don't just rub lotion on me), but I know this varies from technician to technician. I did ask her for more pressure but it was only a slight modest increase above rubbing on lotion. This is the most enjoyable part for me, so its kind of a bummer when they are basically being too lazy to use some pressure. Overall, not the most thorough manicure/pedicure, but darn good on everything but massage pressure. Will return! read more

I got white dipped acrylic they are uneven and thick, I got a gel pedi and they charged me 20 extra dollars for it when on the menu it said it is 42 for the 5 star pedi with shellac.
