I've been here only twice for threading so far, but overall, I really like this establishment! The service is speedy, affordable, and friendly. The employees are really nice and have given me useful beauty tips. They provide fantastic service, and even though my skin is quite sensitive, they make it as painless as possible. It is best to call ahead to schedule an appointment, but from what I have heard, the waiting time for walk-ins is pretty decent. The place is well maintained and quite relaxing with music playing at a pleasant volume. Also, they are open on Sundays and Mondays! One major issue is that the place can be a bit tricky to find especially if you are coming from Moorpark Rd. Luckily, there are multiple entrances to enter the parking lot. I haven't had any major issues with parking so far, and the salon even has designated parking spots for customers. 5 Wild Hairs and Threading Salon is definitely one of my top places for threading, and I'd be eager to try out their other services in the future. read more

I came in for eyebrow threading. Sandy is amazing and you can tell she's really good at what she does. If you're a first timer, I definitely recommend going to her. She's also super patient and really puts the customer first. I made use of a Groupon I redeemed a while back and she approved of it with little questions asked. She truly trusts her clients. As a guy it can be pretty intimidating to get your brows done, but she knows how to shape it in a way where it doesn't look too feminine but still looks really clean. I came with a friend who was getting his eyebrows threaded when I saw that they also do waxings. It's summertime and I was going to get my underarms waxed somewhere else but decided why not, get it done here. Bad idea: I don't recall the woman's name who was nice, but my waxing was a very painful experience. I've had waxings before and never have I had someone repeatedly over and over again keep applying the strip and ripping it off. I almost feel as if she were trying to rip my skin off; as if that were the outcome she was trying to achieve. My right underarm is a little raw but my left underarm is extremely raw and red, and my arm keeps sticking because of the raw skin, not because of wax being left behind. Seriously contemplating applying some neosporin or something. I do not recommend coming here for waxings, leave them do the threading and keep it moving. I won't be back at all. read more

I'd only recommend eyebrow threading here if the appointment is with Sandy. I'd give 5 stars for her. I started going here about 3 years ago after letting my brows thicken up and grow a little wild. At that point they needed some cleanup, so I went in to see Sandy based on the recommendations here. She did an excellent job listening to my needs, which were that I just needed some cleanup and light shaping, and to keep as much fullness as possible. I continued to see her every 6-8 weeks for maintenance and was very happy with the results and my eyebrows continued to look full but maintained. Earlier this year, Sandy wasn't in, but I made an appointment with someone else at the salon anyway because I was attending a wedding that weekend and needed a touch up. I told this other person please, please do not overthread because it had taken me a couple years to grow my eyebrows in to their fullness. I should have known based on how long I was sitting in the chair and watching her keep going back in with her thread that she overdid it and I wish I had stopped her sooner. I was in too much shock when she showed me the mirror to point out that she hadn't listened to me at all and she thinned my eyebrows out way too much and gave them an outdated shape. I was late to get back to work so I paid and walked out, but haven't returned since. Fast forward over 8 months, and my eyebrows still haven't recovered. Google Photos alerted me with one of those photo memories from 1 and 2 years ago and it reminded me how much better my brows looked then compared to photos from the wedding up to now. I'm now shopping for brow serums as a Christmas present to myself, plan to practice how to do a natural looking makeup fill-in for now, and have learned my lesson the hard way. When it comes to something you can't easily change like this, do not risk it! read more

Never have I ever not tipped after a salon service & I am very upset that I even have to post this review. Went in for brow threading, eyebrow tint, eyelash tint, and eyelash perm. Brow threading was decent. Eyebrow tint was done with no regard to shaping the brow; dye was applied unevenly (I even had to ask them to remove excess dye). Eyelash tint was applied so sloppily that my eyes ended up turning red; they even had me rinse out my eyes afterwards. The eyelash perm was absolutely horrible. Eyelashes are not in line and are leaning in a bunch of different direction. Glue was left on my eyelid and eyelashes & I when I brought it up I was told that it would come off, but they didn't even bother to remove it in the salon like any other salon would. I went home and researched what eyelash perms should look like, what to do when you get a bad eyelash perm, and have consulted other salons. I've resolved to going back to the salon and having them fix this mistake (if I can't get my lashes to straighten via oil and water) and am asking for a refund for the eyelash perm only ($75). I will update this post after I revisit the salon. read more

If you have Sandy, you're set. Unfortunately Sandy is out of town for the next 10 weeks, SO STAY AWAY. I went in yesterday to get my eyebrows threaded, and left with two different eyebrows on my face. Like, so bad that once my eyebrows grow back, I'll be able to laugh about it but until then I'll be upset. I went back today to get them fixed, with a different woman to fix them. Yes, she made them better. But still, she kept repeating that I will have to give it time for my hairs to grow back until both brows match. I have two extremely important events this weekend, and unfortunately, I ran out of magic hair growing potion to make my brows match again in time. If you go, make sure Sandy is working on you. If Sandy isn't there, just run. I'm so sad to have to write this review because Sandy is amazing, but you can't trust this place to be consistent and provide quality services is Sandy is away. read more

I am so upset with how my skin looks after threading. Yes, it is soft and has no hair but my skin developed a horrible rash and became super broken out. Unlike I've ever experienced before. I'm prone to a few small bumps here or there but this is unreal. I'm now going to have to make an appointment with my dermatologist to try to heal this. I've been visiting this salon since 2012 so this review is incredibly overdue. The prices are great and the people are even better. I moved in 2015 and was unable to find a place that I liked quite as much so I tended to hold out till I visited home so I could get my eyebrows done here. Luckily I've moved back and haven't has to wait as long to visit. Sandy - owner - is the sweetest! She's always pleasant, professional and welcoming; and she loves her staff! I went in this past Friday for my eyebrows, Kanika took care of them and did a lovely job as usual but instead of leaving after, I decided to get a facial if there was an available slot. Fortunately there was and o my goodness, I was not ready for the amazingness I was about to experience. I got the Biolight Miracle Facial with Glyco-Sea Peel - combats hyper pigmentation and acne scaring - and it was fantastic. Sandy pampered me and was informative about additional ways to help my skin at home. I felt so relaxed, I didn't want to leave! I can't wait to do another one. Sandy does a wonderful job threading. I go every 2-3 weeks. She listens to how I like my brows shaped and never over does them. When she was on maternity leave I saw Kanika and she was terrific. Eyebrow threading is $10 way too expensive than the other places I go to that only charge $5-$7 and do a way better job. I'd recommend you go somewhere else for threading.
