Horrible service. Waited over an hour for our food. No one came over and checked on us or updated us for 45 min. Were told at 45 min food would be "right out " it took another 20 min. When I heard another table complaining to the manager about how they never got their app or salad and also have been forgotten about I told the manager what happened. He was great about comping out food and apologized. The restaurant was empty on a busy weekend night, and we easily got a reservation. That should have been a sign. When the food came out it was good but def not worth $58 for a peice of grouper. Plain pasta with no protein $37. Too many other great places to waste a beautiful evening. read more

We flew in late on Sunday night and our conference group was at the tail end of their dinner. The management and staff couldn't have been more welcoming and made sure we had a beautiful table to enjoy our dinner. Our waiter, Daniel, was tremendous. He was funny and warm and made us feel right at home after a very long day of travel. Even at the end of the evening we didn't feel rushed in the slightest. I highly recommend the lobster bisque. I would have eaten that every day we were there if I had the opportunity! The scallops were also amazing. My companion had the grouper and said the fish, rice and vegetables were perfectly cooked. How could you not love a restaurant like 50 Ocean that overlooks the Atlantic ocean, has great food and great service. The menu is outstanding. The Good: Daytime view (Sunday Brunch) was simply gorgeous. There are no restaurants directly on the beach in downtown Delray Beach. So the fact that 50 Ocean is located on the 2nd floor right on A1A and affords you a beautiful view of the Atlantic Ocean made this a worthwhile visit. From our table located right next to the window, you were able to see the beautiful blue-green striations of the water, peaking out above the umbrellas on the beach. Our server was wonderful. Not rushing us to order but checking in regularly to see how our meal was going. Sadly, the food itself had much to be desired. It's off-season and the restaurant was far from crowded. It may be generous to say it was 30% full. But that didn't stop it from taking an inordinate amount of time for our food to arrive and when it did, it was lukewarm at best. I ordered the 50 Breakfast which was 2 eggs (I asked for very soft poached, they came not-so-soft poached and not hot), thick-cut bacon (2 pieces), breakfast potatoes (under-cooked), and bread. Friend ordered the A1A Benedict and I will guess that the potatoes were the same as mine and while it wasn't discussed, based on the hollandaise looking like it solidified, I'm going to guess it too was lukewarm, at best. 50 Ocean does get props for a good cup of coffee. Happy I went, because now I know and again, the view really was beautiful. But at the end of the day, it really is about the food and as far as brunch goes, there are better options if you're willing to pass on the view. read more

This place was AMAZING! My boyfriend and I were looking for a place to have brunch by the water, and this was the absolute perfect find. It has awesome views of the beach that you just can't beat. We had Randy as our server, and let me tell you this girl knows what's up! She was so attentive and friendly, and she really made the whole experience top notch. She gave wonderful suggestions, and gave us some great local things to do. They have bottomless mimosas, a must for brunch! We went with that, and this was probably the first brunch place that I've been to where they are on top of their mimosa game. We were never in the presence of an empty glass. Perfection! My boyfriend ordered the garden omelette, and he really enjoyed it. All of the ingredients were fresh and flavorful. I loved my quiche Lorraine with a side of potatoes and bacon. The quiche was delicious, and the potatoes were out of this world. I can't wait to come back here and enjoy brunch with the perfect view! Great Bloody Mary bar but just an okay experience. Came with a large party for brunch, and it was my first time in Delray Beach. Honestly, pretty hard to find the entrance to restaurant. I had to ask a couple people because it shared the building with another place and the door to enter is on the side of the building. But once we made it you could see the nice view of the water and the sidewalk below. I will say though the inside it very very dark. The lights are dim and the windows, while give some light into the restaurant, seem to have a film over it to make the place dim-lighted. Most people in the party went for the Bloody Mary's where the sever gives you a shot of vodka and a glass with ice, and you get up to a Bloody Mary bar that has any kind of topping you could imagine. You could put cheese, olives, celery, onion rings, peppers and even some of the largest breadsticks I've seen. Definitely going to remember this bar! As for food, I got the lobster avocado toast which was good but lacked salt. To be frank, it was pretty bland. Also, I ordered it with a side of scrambled eggs because the menu only said it had the lobster, avocado, and greens on top of bread. When I'm reality, it had a poached egg and tomato as well. I wish I knew it already had an egg! My brother got shrimp and grits as we found out the chef is from New Orleans. He said it was good but really not the best. I ordered a fruit plate to share and it was good, had s nice selection and I enjoyed with my meal. Overall, the food wasn't really my favorite but great service (I know large parties can be a lot too). Place felt a little touristy but like I mentioned it was my first time in Delray so I guess I fit that category. read more

I don't think I have a favorite meal because they were all very tasty from the entrees to the dessert. 50 ocean is not a three course meal, it is a two course luncheon. But still very much worth the price. Drink: My fav partttt. The alcohol on the drink is very strong. To some people it might be a bad thing to some people but for us, we loved it. Dessert: I had the beignet and oh man the beignet were so light and soft. The blueberry compote was delicious, not sweet at all. Just so perfect. All I can say is EVERYTHING from start to finish was on point. The hospitality, service and food was exceptional. We had a varied menu as opposed to a catering menu and each dish was cooked to perfection. And, the portions were generous and substantial. I had the eggs Benedict with crab cake. For the price ($21) I was expecting one egg/crab cake. Instead I got TWO complete benies with zero slime and a perfect runny yolk. Our server Noel took care of everyone with such care and expertise. And I can't say enough about our host Glen. He's the real-deal. There to make sure your event is perfect. We chose this venue for our son's engagement party because of the spectacular ocean view and could not have made better choice. The service we received from Dawn throughout the planning process was equally spectacular. Dawn could not have been more accommodating when it came to party location choices, menu choices, decorations, etc. We had the sit down brunch with 23 guests, and thanks to Dawn, Julie and Anna, (our wonderful servers), the event flowed perfectly. We arrived one hour early to set up decorations, the cake and party favors. Dawn, Julie and Anna were with us constantly asking what they could do to help and making sure we had everything we needed. Our guests were greeted and offered drinks upon arrival, and attended to until we sat down. Orders were taken efficiently and the great service continued. Guests loved the warm pastry baskets and fresh fruit platters to start. The caesar salad and lobster bisque were delicious. There was the perfect amount of time between the salad and the main course for a couple of speeches. We were also given a quiet private space to set up our cake, favors, and a candy bar. We never felt rushed and truly appreciated warmth and friendliness of the staff. This will be my go-to venues for special events in the future. read more

We had family over from out-of-town and wanted to have an enjoyable dining experience on a Saturday evening that turned out to be outright unpleasant. When we arrived at the place, it wasn't that busy with about half of the tables empty. Our server, Isaiah, while we were just perusing through the menu, rushed us for dinner entree orders ... we were only looking at drinks and starters. It appeared that he was a little irritated when we took a little time to order (including the main dinner) and kind of yanked the menus from us. And then the waiting began ... we saw from our table the bartender had prepared our drinks but Isaiah was just standing and chitchatting with other servers. After more than 20 minutes, he brought the drinks over, that's when I asked him about the appetizers and he just replied that it's all prepared fresh in the kitchen - not the answer I was looking for. After waiting for another 30 minutes or so, one of the kitchen staff came out with our main dinner orders with the appetizers nowhere in sight. Obviously, anyone who dines at a restaurant knows that starters/appetizers are served with the drinks before dinner UNLESS the guest asks otherwise. So, we told the kitchen staff that appetizers haven't arrived yet, and all this time our server never stopped by. Long story short, the manager came by and apologized for the mixup and blaming it on the kitchen staff and assured us he would make things right. He also promised that the appetizers would be 'free' because of mixup. We wanted to have a good experience with our guests from out-of-town and wanted to put this behind us. So, we proceeded with the rest of the evening. When Isaiah finally came back much later to fill our water, we wanted to put him at ease and didn't want him to also feel uncomfortable serving our table. But unfortunately, our ordeal didn't end there ... when I got the check, I found it to be confusing and misleading. Isaiah mentioned to me while handing me the check that discount has been provided but while going through the lines (which I never do) it didn't add up. Every dinner entree item was ordered twice and then reversed and bundled in one line called "Discount", which was basically reversing out the double orders. There was no trace of the actual discount offered as assured by the manager. Also, the pre-calculated tip amount was erroneous ... seemed like it was calculated on the bloated total and not the actual total. And finally, one of the items was priced more than 100% higher than the price on the menu ... $38 versus $15 for a bowl of lobster bisque soup! At this point, we were all very tired and didn't want to ruin the rest of our evening and chose just to leave with a modest tip for the server. I think the Manager should have followed through till the end and ensured the bill was accurate. It would also help if he didn't peddle Isaiah as one of his best servers, which he definitely was not. We also felt hurt and left out when we saw that our server was very attentive to the other tables he attended while he completely ignored us. I don't think this is the type of experience anyone wants to go through when one is paying more than $50 per dinner per person (excluding drinks). I sincerely hope that the restaurant management reads my review and takes measures not to repeat the same unpleasant experience to future guests! read more

I have been a few times for dinner and all pretty consistent. I really suggest making a reservation no matter what time of year you visit. Request a table with a view as they have some of the best of then. The interior decor is pretty nautical and the bar top is a living fish tank. Pretty cool! The service is what you expect for a high end restaurant. No young newbie servers but also not the quickest. They know the menu and can describe most dished and can make dietary substitutions. The menu has a good variety of land and sea items. The appetizers can be small so ask how many it can serve. Desserts are good and they will give an added touch if you are celebrating an event. Parking is by valet and there is not much offered around for parking otherwise. Have dinner and then take a little walk before leaving to top off a nice evening. read more

The atmosphere was very nice and the view overlooking the ocean is amazing. We started with cocktails and an order of crab beignets and the flavor was excellent. The lobster bisque didn't disappoint. The entrees were very delicious (Crab cake is on the menu and the stuffed lobster tails were a special). The service was great. Very attentive without being intrusive.
