The Day You Rent Away…read more I almost can't believe I'm writing a five-star review for a car rental place, and yet here I am. We did technically have our rental thru Alamo® but there was no one at their desk (it was Christmas day), so we were sent here to their sister company at Enterprise® to complete the transaction. The Good: *Booked thru Costco for an eight-day rental for a small SUV for less than $100/day--including taxes and fees. *The lady working the desk, Yvonne, was outstanding; friendly, fast, efficient, and didn't go too hard on the insurance upsell. *Once we were done, we were sent to the lot where a friendly gentleman named Miguel *ACTUALLY WALKED US TO OUR CAR*!! Lord, in heaven, I got a case of the vapors and thought I was going to pass out. These places usually just turn you loose in a sea of vehicles and say, "Good luck and don't let the door hit ya where the dog should've bit ya." I'm looking at you, Baltimore... =T The Meh: *They didn't have any small SUVs left (I felt that Seinfeld bit about taking but not keeping the reservation creep into my head), but fortunately, Miguel hooked us up with a Toyota® RAV4™ upgrade for free. The Ugly: *The car exterior was a bit dirty, and a few of the windows were downright filthy. I'm not sure if this car had just been returned and they hadn't had time to clean it yet or what? Regardless, it's not really a big deal. TLDR: I still can't believe I'm giving 5* to a car rental place, but they definitely deserve it. To quote Kramer: It's a Festivus Miracle!

The one that helped me finally couldn't get the computer to work and finally said "guess I could use the tablet though I hate it." Took a while to get the car almost double what is should have. The staff in the lot was friendly and help.

Very disappointed with this location. When you rent be sure to inspect the car very very…read morethoroughly. When I picked up the car I was told that any damage smaller than a couple inches in diameter was not significant and did not need to be noted on the renters agreement. So naturally I looked for larger dents and dings and did not find any so of course I signed the agreement stating that there was no damage to the car. When I returned the car, I was told that the car had hail damage and that I needed to pay a $500 deductible to get it fixed. The damage is nearly unperceivable to the naked eye and is much much smaller than the dents and dings that I had already noticed before I rented the car. New Mexico had several hail storms before I rented the car, and even if I had looked for damage beforehand, I would not have seen it. It is very very minute. I made the mistake of making small talk with the agent when I rented the car and I had mentioned I was driving to Colorado. Well, they also had hail that weekend, however we did not get caught in it. Unfortunately at that point it is your word against theirs and since I already signed the agreement I was pretty much stuck. The original agent I signed the agreement with saw me when I first got there but then left to the back and I did not see her again which was strange because I was there for over an hour. I just feel like they try to wring as much money out of you as possible. It is unfortunate because I have rented with Enterprise before and I used to brag about their customer service but I won't be renting with Enterprise again and I will not advise my friends or family to do so either. The whole thing felt very shady and I do not believe that this location brings the customer service that I thought Enterprise stood for.

I rented a vehicle from the Hertz location on San Mateo Blvd. in Albuquerque, NM, on July 30, 2026…read more At pickup, I worked with the employee who was the only person working at the location at the time. The office was very busy, and there were multiple customers waiting for assistance. During the rental process, I specifically asked to prepay for fuel, as I routinely do with rental vehicles. The employee told me that she would add the prepaid fuel option and led me to believe it had been added to my rental agreement. When I returned the vehicle on August 3, 2026, at approximately 9:00 a.m., I was informed that prepaid fuel had not been selected. I explained that I had requested it at pickup and had been told it was added. Rather than acknowledging that an oversight may have occurred, the employee stated that she would remember because she receives commission and would not forget. In essence, I was being told that I was incorrect or dishonest about what had happened. I remained polite and professional and explained that given how busy the office was on July 30, it seemed entirely possible that the prepaid fuel option had simply been missed. I asked whether there was any way to add the prepaid fuel option at that point. I was told no and that my only options were either to pay Hertz's refueling charge of approximately $13 per gallon or to take the vehicle and refuel it myself. When I asked if I could take the vehicle to refuel it, I was told that I could, but I would then have to wait for someone to bring the vehicle back to me because it had already been taken to the back. This was extremely frustrating, especially considering that the issue appears to have resulted from an error during pickup. While discussing the rental, I also informed the employee that the vehicle did not contain a spare tire. Her response was that it was not her fault and that Hertz does not provide spare tires in its rental vehicles. I find this extremely concerning. During this rental, I traveled through the Gila National Forest for work, where cell phone service is limited or nonexistent in many areas. Had I experienced a flat tire, I could have been stranded without a spare tire and with no means to call for assistance. From a safety standpoint, I find this unacceptable. What disappointed me most was the way I was treated during the return process. When I stepped outside to inform the person waiting to drive me back to my office that I would be delayed because I needed to refuel the vehicle, I overheard the employee speaking with her supervisor and characterizing me as rude and blaming me for the situation. I will acknowledge that by the end of the interaction I was extremely frustrated. However, that frustration was the direct result of being told that I was essentially lying about the prepaid fuel request and being treated in a dismissive and disrespectful manner. As a customer, I do not believe that is acceptable. Because of this experience, I will no longer use Hertz for my business travel , and I will share my experience with colleagues when discussing rental car providers. I am disappointed that a situation that could have been resolved with a simple acknowledgment of an error instead escalated into a negative customer service experience.
