I am truly confused how this human finds this type of behavior acceptable in a professional (or otherwise honestly) setting. We had an appointment, were on time and treated criminal. She informed me they didn't have a car available and also said she tried to call me and leave a voicemail (which she didn't) took over 45 minutes to wash a car. I went in to ask if I had time to run home and grab my bags.. she said "yes you have plenty of time" upon arrival back to the business we noticed it was closed. Really let down by my experience here. I completed all online steps they requested for the reservation to ensure a smooth pickup process. Yet even after completing these steps, they still wanted to call and chat about the reservation and when I arrived it took more than 20 minutes of duplicate questions, the associate driving various cars around the lot, then taking 20 photos of the car. All that, and I realize an hour after pickup the car doesn't even have current registration paperwork or displayed tags, which could have resulted in a ticket for me. I think the pick up process could be a lot smoother and quicker. read more

I was coming into Albuquerque on Amtrak and my train was 2 1/2 hours late. I talked to Robert three times throughout the day to coordinate when I'd get there and have somebody pick me up. Charles was there within 12 minutes of me calling upon my arrival. The process to get the car was quick and the car is clean and easily drivable. I phoned Robert to be responsive to my phone calls and reassuring that they would work with me as best as possible under the late conditions. read more

Horrible location to rent from, customer service is severely lacking and they don't value their customers let alone their members. I was outside waiting for a car for over 2 hours after the front desk clerk gave the car away that reserved. They offered a smaller car that wouldn't fit my baggage and when I said no to it they basically wrote me off. I had to call three separate times to speak to someone about getting a car that works and zero follow through on their end. Customer service line basically tells you what you want to hear so you'll leave them alone but they don't really activate on anything. Finally after almost 3 hours I was given a car that someone had just dropped off (with all sorts of scratches and dings) and was finally able to be on my way. Finally received a call from a manager at 5:45pm after I'm long gone asking about the situation but no real solutions offered and just felt like the call was made because she had to not because she was legitimately trying to make things right. I'm feeling like this is a problem with enterprise /National as a whole as this is the second poor experience in as many rentals (last rental had a bumper that fell off as soon as I got on the freeway and was given to me completely dirty). Took a train to New Mexico from So Cal. One of Enterprise employees, Charles picked us up from the train station. We didn't have to wait long for him and he even helped us with our luggage. Just a really nice guy! The lady who checked us out and gave us our car (can't remember her name) was very nice and got us out of there pretty quickly. We had the car for 2 weeks for a road trip we took from NM to MO. During our trip, we got a screw in our tire and stopped at two other enterprise locations for assistance. Though we did receive a different car, the customer service was not the best at those two locations. Still, this is one reason I rent with Enterprise over other companies or Turo. You're not going to be stuck stranded without a car for long or with extra fees. Upon returning the car to Albuquerque, one of the employees, George was extremely kind and helpful. Listened to me share about the tire situation and accommodated me for my time. On top of this, when I was already on the train heading home, I realized I left my wallet in the rental. I called them two days later and George said they did not have the wallet. Less than 3 hours later he called me back to tell me he reached out to the current renter to ask them to see if the wallet was in the car and they came back to the office to turn it in. With George and his manager Robert's assistance, it's less than a week later and my wallet was mailed back to me. The wallet has very sentimental value to me as well as a few things inside. It truly ended our trip on a positive after I was on that train crying over the loss. Thankful for Enterprise and the person who was honest/kind enough to turn it in. I was sent to this location from Progressive after my car was broken into and it had to be sent in for repairs to the window and trim. I was called within 15 minutes after my approval by insurance to get my rental set up.... And had my appointment for pickup the next day. I could have gotten same day, but it wasn't needed immediately. When I arrived the process had me in and out within 15 minutes. I wish I remembered the name of the employees I worked with at pickup and return, so I could send kudos, but they were professional, kind, and were able to answer all my questions. The car I requested was in stock, ran well, was clean, and when my car was fixed I was contacted as to when and how to return the vehicle quickly. My only slight complaint I could have is that I could have used transport from Enterprise to pick up my car from the shop instead of having to get a ride, but I never asked so that is partially on me. I didn't even know that was an option but I'm sure it's on the website, which I didn't have to choose because the employees were so prompt with contacting me. Not enough of an issue to discount my rating on the courteous and great service I received here. Thank you! read more

I switched the vehicles after replacing the spare, they apologized to me for the inconvenience then deceptively tried to bill me for the tire. I was in a car accident in ABQ on 8/28 while driving home from Oklahoma to California, and after being stuck in an ABQ hotel until 8/30, AAA reserved a rental car with this branch to get me home. When I called to schedule a pickup on 8/30 they told me that they wouldn't have a car available until the next day at 1:30 and to call when I was ready to be picked up. Which meant I had to eat the cost of an additional night at the hotel. I called at 1:20 the next day and the person i spoke to started to tell me that they didn't have any cars. I interrupted him and told him that i was told to call at this time and that there would be a car available for me, and he said they had ONE car available, but it was a truck, but I'd be able to exchange it at my local branch without any issues when I got home. Since I still had a long drive ahead of me, I added all the additional coverage offered by Enterprise for the rest of my drive, and was told that I would be able to remove the coverage at any time. I was also told that my mom, who is the policy holder on our insurance and would be the primary driver of the rental, would need to come with me into an Enterprise branch to be put on the rental agreement as an authorized driver of the vehicle, but that there wouldn't be any issue getting that done, removing the extra coverage, or exchanging the car. When I got home, my mom and I went into our local Enterprise location and were told that since my mom was the policy holder on our insurance she was automatically an authorized driver on the car, and were rushed out of the office. We both tried multiple times to exchange the truck for a more practical vehicle and remove the additional coverage over the next 2 weeks, only to be dicked around by the entire staff there. I was out of town from 9/7-9/15 so my mom tried to fix the situation while I was gone, but on 9/9 she was notified by an employee at our local office that not only was she not an authorized driver on the vehicle, but that to make any changes to the agreement, such as removing the extra coverage, I would have to go into the office in person. By 9/15 we had enough and contacted AAA to arrange a rental with another company, and returned the truck to Enterprise. At this point my credit card had been charged ~$245 and i explained the situation to the employee there and was told that if i were his client he would do everything he could to get those charges reversed or discounted, but unfortunately they couldn't help us because we rented the car in ABQ and told me that i would be receiving a call from the ABQ office in 24-48 hours to review the charges, and that if i explained the situation they would probably do the same. FOUR DAYS LATER I finally received a call from the ABQ office letting me know that the final charges to my credit card would be $835.68. When I explained the situation to the employee, he said he would put a hold on the charges and notify his manager to see what could be done to help me, and that I would get a call from the manager the following day before I was charged. After no phone call from the ABQ branch manager, I got an email two days later stating that I had been charged the full amount. I called the branch, and was told by the employee that the manager ultimately decided it was my fault for not going to a different branch, and that they wouldn't be doing anything to reverse or discount the charges. I asked, "So what you're telling me is the fact that you dicked me around for over two weeks is MY fault for not going to a different branch, and because of that you're not going to do anything to help me?" to which he responded, "we didn't do it, the other branch did, and you could've gone to a different branch instead of letting them do that to you. So yeah, you're responsible for those charges." The amount of abuse and mistreatment we've faced at the hands of this company is deplorable and unacceptable, regardless of which branch was responsible and whether or not I went to a different branch. It shouldn't be MY responsibility as a customer to avoid being abused by Enterprise employees. As if being a woman traveling alone, hydroplaning and crashing my car on the freeway in an unfamiliar city 500 miles from home wasn't traumatic enough. Not to mention they don't seem to have even one woman working at this branch, which honestly should've been my first sign that I was going to mistreated by the staff at this branch. We had a great experience with this Enterprise location. Marcus, in particular, made it the most enjoyable rental experience we've ever had! We had a very clean and well maintained car waiting for us. The customer service was patient with our many questions and last-minute changes. And they made the process fun and enjoyable. The free pickup and drop-off was also extremely helpful. My only complaints are that they would not drop-off at the airport, because there is another Enterprise location on-site. If you were in town for the Balloon Festival and looking for a car at the airport location of Enterprise. Good luck. However, luckily I thought of going to this downtown location which was only a 8 min drive from the airport. I had talked to Jordan the night before and she was extremely helpful and worked to my specifics for my car type which was a full size automobile and XM satellite which is a must in these long car rides. You read that right - a 5-star rating for a rental car company - and it is well-deserved. I've never seen better customer service from employees than here, and at the end of the day, that's what makes or breaks a rental car company. Across the major companies, the cars are the same, you can usually get whatever you are willing to pay for at any level, and the prices are here and there different but nothing drastic. Where you separate yourself in this area is definitely customer service, and this place has it at 100 on that front. I made my reservation in March for this June trip. Traveling by train from L.A. To Albuquerque we planned to have Enterprise pick us up at the train station so we could rent an SUV for 2 weeks. All good. Day before leaving LA I wanted to just call and confirm the details of Enterprise picking us up from train depot. I tried calling 4 different times throughout the day. Listened to the recording for over 10 minutes each time. The recording boasted that Enterprise was still a family owned business in a corporate world and to allow them to show us the customer what that meant in terms of customer care. I tried calling at 10:00 am sharp the day of our arrival. No answer. At 10:30 I tried again only chose option 2 which connected me to some remote booking location. The first person I spoke to said there was no reservation in the system. I thought she was referring to the pick up request, she made a new car reservation - I thought she just requested a ride for us. Then I got transferred to customer care. They said I had 2 car reservations. One made in March. One just a few minutes earlier. Ugh!! She cleared it up and said I'd need to keep calling the local office if no car arrived. Wait. It gets better. About 10 minutes from arriving at the train depot I finally got through to the local Enterprise office. (I'm under the impression everything has been cleared up). They tell me they're very sorry but they don't have any cars left. All this time I had maintained a sweet and understanding attitude. I AM on vacation. She said 'sorry, no car.' And in the softest voice I have I asked 'what the fuck am I supposed to do?' She said something about not appreciating my tone and there was some back and forth before she realized my confirmation number was for the March reservation. It all finally worked out, but stress a little?? And the 2nd key they gave us - someone wrote 'dead' on it as it doesn't work. I'd call the office to let them know, but not feeling up to it. They never have enough people working at this branch. Pick ups general take an hour to happen and check in takes similar length of time. I would plan on an hour to an hour and half to pick up a car at this location. Today when I was asked a about the service I mentioned the issues of getting picked up in under 45 minutes and the branch manager processed to argue with me that the pick up is a courtesy and I should be happy whenever it gets there. read more

When we wanted to return our compact size car, I noticed that they charged us for couple of insurances I didn't want them and also charged us for underage fee to add an another driver, we both are older than 25!! After we noticed them about these fees, she told us that she waives those for us and then recalculate all expenses again, guess what she recalculate them like 12$ more than what it actually was, so, we had to bring a calculator to show her that she summed them wrongly! Just want to tell you if you are going to rent a car from this location be careful about conditions and calculate every single expenses by yourself to make sure you pay the right price. I hope I could report it to enterprise since it is the second time this location makes these kind of difficulties for us. read more

I selected this location because it was more than $100 cheaper than the airport for the same car type, so it was worth the Uber cost. However, when I arrived, I was told there were no cars. While I waited, the agent gave me the hard sell for optional coverages and for prepaid gas, an argument that went on much too long. The agent mentioned that there would be a $300 deposit, even though I was using an Amex card. When I asked why, he said that there had been a lot of crime and theft at this location. After a 30 minute wait, some cars were brought over and I headed out. I had agreed to receive the invoice via email, and when it arrived, I had been charged several hundred dollars more than the amount of my reservation. I called the next morning and spoke with a manager, who said they had been "having problems with the system," and refunded the overcharge. Fortunately, I thought to ask them whether they would be open on Sunday, when I was to return the car, as it turns out they were not to be open (my reservation had simply indicated that I was to return it to this location). I was able to return it to the airport instead, which was easier for me, but there had been no effort to point that out until I asked. This is apparently a franchise location, not company owned. I don't trust them based on the overcharge, and the hard press for optional coverages and prepaid gas was over the top. Overall, this was a poor experience - Avoid. read more

We rented a mid-sized compact from Enterprise during the period of Oct 19 -25, 2013. The perky female agent took us out to the car pick up area and said "You have a choice between a Chevy Cruze and an, um,...Chevy Cruze." She seemed embarrassed, and now I know why. The Chevy Cruze is the worst rental car I have had this century. For all its charm and handling ability it should be called a Chevy Ted Cruze. The sight lines are terrible, so is the handling and the pick up. Even the gear shift for the auto trans is klugey...and ambiguous. After only a short drive to our nearby hotel, I had had enough. I immediately called Enterprise and asked for a Japanese car, but alas they had none. They suggested I try back the next day, Sunday, because they'd be getting lots of returns. When we showed up Sunday afternoon, an accommodating, efficient African fellow named Emanuel took back the odious Chevy Ted Cruz and upgraded us at no charge to a Nissan Altima. We drove this comfortable, roomy, and peppy 4-door to Santa Fe, Taos, and back, and it was great. So was Nate, the guy who checked us in. Both he and Emanuel seemed to really care that we were satisfied with their company. And I'd give Enterprise 5 stars, if it weren't for the fact that they are dumb enough to try to pass off an under-engineered, uncomfortable, balky car like the Chevy Ted Cruz on their unsuspecting customers. read more

Unacceptable service. They go over a bill with you multiple times, then charge you more and claim that the amounts listed on your bill weren't actually included in the estimate that they gave you before the deposit, meaning they can then keep your deposit. They know that customers from out of town will have a harder time disputing their charges and actively try to take advantage of their customers. I recommend finding absolutely any other company in the area before dealing with Enterprise. read more

I LOVE this rental place. They were a lifesaver when I needed a long term rental while my car was getting repaired. They were super helpful and friendly, and would even ask after the progress of my repair. They also offered the best deal in town, which was a lifesaver when dealing with my insurance company. They push their damage waiver insurance a lot more than other car rental companies. I'm still not sure if it's because the employees get a cut, or if they are honestly trying to help you out because they know enterprise is a shark and will attack your insurance for any slight scuffing/paint chip/etc. The people here were friendly, though it took them a while to get us from the Amtrak station which is only a mile away. read more

We had a reservation with this Enterprise for a noon pick up. We used Enterprise's invitation to pre-register with a credit card and driver's license. Upon arrival at the Enterprise we were told there were "no cars available." At very least it would have been courteous for Enterprise to give us a phone call stating that they were short on cars. We were told we could wait and when the car rental establishment received a returned car it would be ours. We did notice other people waiting for cars. We asked approximately how long the wait would be and first we were told it was unknown but after speaking with the manager she said about 20 minutes. We asked for a discount or credit because of the inconvenience but we were told Enterprise does not give any discounts. We decided to walk around the neighborhood for 20 minutes and asked Enterprise to please call when the car was available. We received a phone call at 2:25 PM nearly 2 1/2 hours later than our reservation pick up time. We felt a credit of some sort would have been appropriate for the inconvenience. We did not rent from Enterprise but called a Hertz establishment. Not only did we receive a car immediately but it was cheaper than our Enterprise reservation. read more

I live in ABQ so have only rented when my car is getting fixed or when I recently needed an SUV to take to Santa Fe when it was snowy and friends were in town. The people at this location were amazing! They got me an awesome Tahoe (it was gigantic!) to take to Santa Fe. They let me pick it up early to ensure that I'd get a four wheel drive SUV for my trip before they all disappeared that day. They are always very friendly when picking me up and dropping me off at my home which is nearby. Overall, I've had really great experiences with them and will continue using them for all my car rental needs in ABQ. read more

I too have always had great experiences with Enterprise. I rented from this location back in late January and couldn't be more satisfied with the customer service. Initially, I rented a compact car and soon noted that engine trouble lights were coming on. I contacted them to let them know and they said they'd be able to give me another car. Since I was still in the city, I told them I would bring it by the next morning. That's what I did and they gave me a much bigger mid-sized car for the same rate as the compact. Very friendly and welcoming staff! I'll definitely rent from them again the next time I visit Albuquerque. read more
