Pulled pork was slimy and made my wife queezy. We scrapped the rest of our plans for the night after. Brutal bloody MMA fighting surrounding us on the TVs, which is fine, it is a bar, but kinda gross to look up at while eating. My daughter was cowering to avoid watching. Connor was our server tonight and he is very sweet, attentive & friendly. The meals came out very quickly, in fact they were brought out before our appetizer. We started with onion rings which were deep fried to perfection. I had the sliced brisket with the Mac N Cheese and baked beans. The sides were delicious, brisket was a tad bit dry. My daughter had the chopped brisket to which she mixed in some bbq sauce. She substituted chef's veggies for the baked beans--the veggies tonight were tasty Brussels sprouts. My husband had the pulled chicken sandwich with waffle fries. The pulled chicken was good, but the fries were a little soggy. The portion sizes were perfect for us, and we had enough leftover to bring home & have for lunch the next day. We were seated by the indoor tree near the cozy seating area with couches. The atmosphere is casual with a very long, very nice bar with many TV's. Classic rock was playing over their sound system, but later in the evening live music was scheduled. Overall we enjoyed the experience. Next time we'll try other entrees as the brisket was ok, but didn't blow us away. We're happy to have 518 Smokehouse here and look forward to seeing what tweaks they make as time goes on. read more

First off, I love the location and layout both inside and out. Such a cool vibe. We sat in the outdoor seating area on the main patio but we could see other small pavilions with seating. There was also a nice view of a pond and a grassy yard with corn hole boards set up. Now for the food... the barbecue was very tender and flavorful, the Mac n' cheese was delicious (but heavy), I'm told the burger and onion rings were really good and the fried catfish was fresh and crispy with a zesty seasoning in the breading. But the desserts, brownie & cobbler, were probably the winners for me, I'd come back just for those. I can't remember our server's name but everyone was very friendly and attentive. I definitely think this will be a future date night and family outing spot. I think it would also be nice for large gatherings like a birthday or graduation as I saw a private room near the front inside and the separate pavilions outside when the weather is nice. read more

Service is good, responsive. Ambiance is the biggest reason we've returned a second time. Food, so so. Ribs to dry, pulled chicken to spicy to eat. Salmon a good dish but serving with white rice is not a good choice and substituting with a different side is an upcharge, really! Don't order the cosmopolitan, worse my wife has ever had. In paying the bill, there are 3 suggestions for tips, 25%, 30%, 35% or custom. A little bold. In general, my money will be spent in other establishments for the next 2 to 3 months before I return and hope that food & drinks improve. If not, I'm done. My first time to visit was today at 6:30 we had reservations and were promptly seated, service was on time as we had 1 straggler 5 minutes late. Group of 6 and we ordered a couple of appetizers the fried onion rings and Texas Twinkies they were good. I ordered 1/2 ribs with the regular sides. The baked beans were good as well as the cold slaw, the mac n cheese had a little off taste but still edible. The ribs were a fail the meat side was overcooked and hard but the taste was good but not the texture (missed it by that much). It's a really neat place that must have been designed during covid there is so much wasted space inside. I may go back and try a hamburger. read more

This was mine and my husband's first time coming to the restaurant and it's very relaxed and open. Our waiter Chris was outstanding, ask for him if you ever go. He made our experience absolutely perfect. Now the food...*chefs kiss* the Texas twinkies were so flavorful and our entrees were just as amazing, the Mac and cheese was delicious in particular. First time in on a Sunday afternoon, not very crowded, maybe 50 people. Service and atmosphere were great, but that's all we can say. The smoked wings and half rack ribs were dry and tough, as if they were reheated from the day before. The ribs were "pry" off the bone. We made a reservation for 715PM on Sunday night. We arrived at 710 and they said they were running a few minutes behind. I checked in 30 minutes later and asked how much longer. They did not know. So we left. I do not understand how you cannot know after we already waited 30 minutes. They were nice and polite. They just do not appear to be organized. Good luck! A very nice building and patio! And the many TV screens make a great sports viewing scene. But the food and service were not so great. I was surprised that the "careful the tray and bowls are hot" contained lukewarm food. Must be that BBQ and Mac & cheese are simply reheated -- but in my case, not quite enough. My wife's burger was good but fries were not right. We arrived mid-afternoon so the crowd had thinned out. Should have been easier to get the food right. Our waitress seemed a bit zoned out. Go for the venue/ambiance. Do NOT go for the food. 518 Smokehouse might be good as a sports bar this fall, because there are several TVs. However, you need to sit at the bar for a good view. The interior is wide open for plenty of people. We ordered brisket sliders to start. There was nothing sliding: dry, crumbly small portions that didn't even cover the bottom part of the slider buns. The cole slaw was good, but a little dry. The pulled pork with 2 sides was okay. The Mac & cheese was very cheesy, in a Velveeta sort of way. They baked beans had a good flavor but were undercooked. There are better BBQ joints in the area to spend my money. Hopefully, 518 will get better. read more

Second visit to 518 today. Wife had smoked pulled chicken and I had chicken and waffles. The intent of this review is to offer some constructive feedback. The smoked chicken and the accompanying slaw was far too salty. Salt should enhance the flavor not mask it. Better to under salt and then tell your clients that they may want to salt themselves for the taste they prefer. Fried chicken that came with waffles was very overcooked and dried out. Waffles were tasty though. So- the food was somewhat edible but could easily have been good instead of mediocre. read more

We had a reservation at 7, didn't get seated until 7:45, food came out at 8:30. It was a 2 hr wait, and some of the food was cold. 1st time visiting for us Saturday 04/20. Absolutely love the ambiance the space is just beautiful. Both indoor & outdoor bars are awesome. If we had Lyft or Uber available we'd probably be sat there every night We sat outside on the deck the food was absolutely amazing 10 out of 10. Heidi our server was excellent very attentive. We had high hopes for this place. Here's our honest and transparent review: Pros: We made reservations, showed up on time and was sat down right away! The server was young, probably his first food service job, and he did great! He was attentive, friendly, prompt, and polite. What more can you ask for! Only thing I could recommend as a coaching point is for him to let us know what they were out of before ordering. Now the cons: We were excited to try the Texas Twinkie's and asked for them as our appetizer and were told they ran out of them and also burnt ends...the two things we wanted to have! I am going to crack this up to the rush they had with it being their first week open. Hopefully, they'll discover what their "hot items" are and be more prepared in the future. As a backup appetizer we ordered the Nachos (for some reason they were served on pork rinds, not tortilla chips). The presentation was "ok" but they were hard as a rock! I mean, we were afraid that we might need a dentist if we tried to eat them--disappointing When we placed our main course order we were told the wait could be around an hour (our reservations were for 9pm and there wasn't much of a crowd at that time but I understand they just had a rush. So, since we were so excited, we were okay with the wait.) Well, the server was right, it took an hour to get our dishes. We chose 3 meats and two sides--great price for all of that, so we thought! We got wings, brisket, ribs, and smoked sausage --Mac and cheese, corn ribs and beans! Presentation was mediocre, meat was dried out and the food was wayyy over salted. We took a couple of bites and asked for the check. We are hoping this is due to it being brand new, the rush, and maybe the cooks being worn out at that time. Had dinner here with friends and kids while visiting the area. Service and food were fantastic! Kids raves about the Mac and cheese and the quesadilla (subbed with brisket) was exceptional. Friends had the pulled pork and burgers - both were great and the seasoning on the fries was so tasty. Jhian was exceptional, made substitúyannos and accommodations easily. Might be some of the best restaurant ribs I've had. Really really good, hot, and quick. I've been twice and the service has been really good, especially considering how busy they've been. I dined there in Sunday June 30 along with my church family. This was actually my second time. We absolutely enjoyed the food. Let me start with the ladies that I spoke with when I made the reservation they was so professional and friendly and helpful . When I say that the waitress was on top of everything the never missed a beat. It was 19 of us and only her(sorry I can't remember her name) she was phenomenal. The atmosphere was incredible we had a private room. The manger he was incredible as well. My only concern was the bake beans and macaroni and cheese please go back to the original recipe not to say that the new one was bad. But I honestly prefer the original recipe thanks.
