Five Stars is simply not enough stars for 51st Deli. Occupying what used to be the space that Tacos 4 Life lived in (I cried when that closed), I wasn't sure what to expect from 51st Deli. I loved Tacos 4 Life and ate there every trip I made to Brentwood....so I sat on it and didn't visit for a while once they opened. I wasn't sure if I wanted to enter because I didn't want to be disappointed because it *wasn't* Tacos 4 Life. Then I decided to visit. As it turns out all that drama and anticipated disappointment was completely unfounded. Once I walked in the door and looked around I said (quite audibly) "Holy WOW!" This is far more than a deli. I'm going to call it a Hyper Deli. There are refrigerated cases with just about any soft drink or energy drink you can imagine, and some I'm sure you've never heard of. A LOT of them, all neatly arranged and front-facing. It's this kind of attention to detail that makes this place stand out. There are just about as many varieties and bags of chips as there are soft drinks, all neatly arranged for ease of choice. If Soup is what you're looking for, there are six soups offered daily. And then there's the Deli case. This is a very impressive array of fresh produce, build-your-own-salad parts and pieces, deli meats and cheeses, side dishes, and individually packaged desserts, fresh fruits and veggies in portable snack containers. The menu board boasts an impressive selection of basically everything. The Coffee Bar, the Juice Bar, Breakfast items, Signature sandwiches, Burgers, and Tacos & mas! Seriously, if you don't see something you like on this menu board, do you really need it? The items on the menu board aren't priced...we'll come back to that shortly. 51st Deli is an order at the counter place. You can pay cash, tap to pay, credit card. After you pay you can take a seat or you can stand around and be in someone's way while you wait for your food. For my first visit I had to have tacos (yes, it was a Tuesday). One steak, one chicken, one chorizo...and, of course, a side of chips and salsa and a fountain drink. About 10 minutes later they called my order. The first thing I noticed is that the chips and salsa weren't so much a side as they were basically another entree...not that I'm complaining. The salsa was really, REALLY good and the chips were made fresh in the store. There are a couple bottles of store-made salsa for adding a little heat and flavor to your meal, each with its own unique taste and comfortably spicy. The tacos were all super tasty and served hot over corn tortillas (the way tacos should be served) with nothing but cilantro and onion. It made my tummy smile. This delightful meal was actually pretty reasonable. Before tip it was about $20, which I think is a pretty fair price. With no prices on the menu board I didn't know what to expect and was ready to pay a King's Ransom, but in the end it was just tacos so Jim's wallet was happy. I didn't expect to see 51st Deli merchandise, but *boom* there it was! Shirts, hats, koozies, bags. This surprised and impressed Jim. My visits to Brentwood have also come to include a visit to 51st Deli for breakfast as well. They have Jalapeño bagels and store-made Jalapeño cream cheese, which is (according to science) the absolute best way to start my day. Well, that and an iced vanilla latte. The staff here is always on the move cleaning and stocking. It's always clean, I've never seen trash overflowing, and tables are cleared soon after customers leave. This is definitely a restaurant -- excuse me, Hyper Deli -- that values the guest experience. 51st Deli should be everywhere, and it's a failure of mankind that it isn't. read more

Meh, 51st Deli is pretty good but not as great as the reviews might suggest. Founded on Nashville's west side in 2018 on the corner of Centennial Boulevard and ... 51st Avenue, of course ... their fourth of five locations debuted in Brentwood's CityPark in late August of 2025. Pros: The air conditioning is ice cold on a scorching day just the way I like it. With seating for 108, including 80 indoors and 28 outdoors, this spacious dining room has the perfect atmosphere for a neighborhood deli. And the drink selection is striking when you walk in, walls of everything you could imagine including water, carbonated beverages, energy drinks, and alcoholic beverages. They carry most of my favorites like Poppi, Jarritos, Olipop, Fanta, Gatorade, everything we enjoy except Ice brand drinks. And it must be noted that rhe hoagie bread is beautifully chewy and fresh. Cons: My order was totally botched. I received a massive burrito when I ordered the Italian sub. It wasn't even close. It took a few minutes but the order was eventually corrected. The provolone and ham were of questionable quality, but the pepperoni and salami were good. The Italian is supposed to have a sauce, but it was undetectable making the sandwich incredibly dry. And keep in mind you're paying $13 for a pretty small sandwich that's half lettuce and light on the meat. Once again, it's a good spot and I'd probably come back. But in a city full of great sandwiches, it's not an all-star. read more

First experience was amazing -- enjoyed the Cuban sandwich. Had the mango cup with tajin -- sooo good and tried the fresh squeezed orange juice! Delicious! Second experience wasn't as good unfortunately. Tried their signature burger and honestly don't know if I've had a worse burger. All the classic fixings were good. It was just the burger patties that didn't meet expectations. The two burger patties were old. No other way to describe it. They were flavorless and chewy. Bun was cold as well. I'm not sure if it was because we came in later (an hour before closing) or what but gosh very disappointing. It's hard to mess up a burger. read more

This location has become one of my fave places to grab food. They have a variety of sandwiches to include deli, burgers, tacos, and desserts. I love their wide selection of drinks too! They have wellness shots, coconut water, smoothies, energy drinks, etc. This place is simply amazing! read more

51st Deli is a great addition to the neighborhood -- the space is cute, the drink selection is wild, and I'm always excited to see new local spots open up. That said... $17 for a juice and a latte is pretty wild. I also found it a little off-putting that the menu boards don't list prices -- you don't know what you're committing to until you're at the register. I also ordered a 16oz latte and this is a 12. I even said something but they said it was 16oz. I'm rooting for them because the quality is there, but I'm definitely concerned about the pricing. I'll be back, but probably not as often as I would be if things felt a bit more accessible. read more

The gluten free options are extensive and high quality. Massive selection of non GF foods. Soups are delicious - and welcomed when eating inside because it's absolutely freezing due to the self serve refrigerated units being open. read more

This took the place of a taco spot & coffee shop that both closed. The atmosphere was chaotic. They definitely need more seating. Ppl were sitting outside. In January. Luckily, I was just picking up my order. Shockingly, these are some of the better chicken tacos I've had in the area. I only have 2 tacos per meal when I eat them so the $17 tag for 4 tacos & no sides was fine since it's two meals for me. Service was quick & efficient. read more

Made my second visit here and it didn't disappoint. It was pretty crowded around noon on Saturday, but within about an hour it started to die down. The fries were very good--maybe just needed a little more seasoning, but still enjoyable. The double cheeseburger was filling, and the meat tasted like good quality beef. I added mustard and mayo, which worked well. It wasn't an overly juicy burger, but that was perfectly fine with me. The chocolate cake is amazing. If you like Linda's Fudge Cake from The Cheesecake Factory, this tastes similar--maybe even better--and at a fraction of the cost. I also had pineapple juice to drink, which is my go-to and was delicious as always. I'd love to see a location open in the Tanger area someday--hopefully that happens. read more

Love this place. They have gluten-free for my wife and daughter. They also carry Banaqua. The lady behind the counter showed us amazing service. I do wish they had better placement for their menu. Well well well the new kids on the block. We have always wanted to go to 51st but didn't enjoy the constant crowds at their other locations so never took the risk. The Brentwood location seems to have some quiet times, we went at 230pm, and it was pretty empty. First thoughts? IT IS SO CLEAN. Whoever is managing this place definitely has "if you have time to lean you have time to clean" in mine. Feel like I could eat off the floor. We were unsure about a lot but the customer service was top notch h. My husband got a sandwich but I don't enjoy sandwiches because I'm a weirdo so I got their tacos. I've never heard anyone say "51st has great tacos" but they really should. They are crispy but soft, moist but firm and overall fantastic. My husband was very satisfied with his sandwich and has already told me he'd love to go back. We got a little overzealous and also finished our meal and decided to get some cafe items. I got a chai tea and my husband got a matcha latte. It was just OK, and for two large it was 20 dollqrs. Starbucks prices is kind of shocking and I guess inflation has really taken its toll. Man, I am thrilled to have this deli in Brentwood. We have picked up several times now and it never disappoints. Fried bologna is southern perfection. BLT, yes please. Waffles, fluffy and delicious.
