After numerous problems and headaches living in this building Delise found me a more comfortable apartment to spend the last half of my lease in. She was invested in making sure I didn't just leave my lease or continue to leave terrible reviews. She is very good at de escalating problems. After a very long process of moving across country, we are finally settled in at 550 Harborfront. Marnae was amazing from the first time we met her on the tour about 5 months ago to the final move in date this month. There were nuances with figuring out details specific to moving ~2,500 miles from the East Coast to the West Coast, and Marnae was always there with solutions. I am so grateful for her patience in answering all my questions and getting us through this process. read more

Great building in a good location. Delise was the best leasing agent in helping us find our home. She stayed late one day and was very upbeat, patient, and funny even though we walked in unexpectedly. Many of the current tenants were greeting the managers during our first visit so we knew the rapport was genuine. We signed a lease same day. The building amenities are really nice. The units themselves are new. It has been refreshing to be in a quieter, cleaner neighborhood than echo park and we've been enjoying walking to the local restaurants. Jason in maintenance is responsive and kind for any issue. Will update our review at the end of our lease. read more

Where do I began. There is nothing Luxury about this apartment building. First, curfew is at 10:00pm!! Meaning all access to the pool/jacuzzi, rooftop patio, and pool table room area are shut down at 10:00pm and reopens at 8am every single day (including weekends). The Jacuzzi is LukeWarm and the entire pool is 5ft deep. The upstairs lounge TV has been broken for 6 months now and the pool table sticks are all in bad conditions. The sound system in the Lounge area were poorly installed and no one can get it to work. They have a low grade coffee machine in the lobby that is refilled whenever someone remembers to fill it up. And there's no one in the lobby after 5pm to open the door for guest. read more

Unfortunately I will never know what your apartments are because we were not allowed on the tour because our documents didn't fit. I showed my documents: work permit and European license, my American license was lost by dmv, so that's all the documents I have. My boyfriend showed his Polish documents, which is a European passport and also a European driver's license. I offered to show a photo of my Ukrainian passport because I have never used it in the US and I don't have it with me. I drove here for the second time in a day for 1.5 hours, but was refused. My documents were not enough. Your employee is not interested in being rented from you. Hire people who are stress-resistant and understanding. If your rules have specific requirements for documents to see the apartment, write about it. In addition I attach a photo that I calmly booked a new tour and nowhere does it say that I have to bring special documents. I'm very angry and upset. I don't want anyone to feel as humiliated as I felt. read more

Unfortunately management and office staff continue to disappoint, no follow through, condescending remarks and WE the residents are paying the price. management has eroded since 2020, all management see is $$$. Poor execution on getting simple repairs done, and poor timing on elevator preventive maintenance, has lead to tenants go out of their way to adjust to their poor performance. My wife and I lived in Santa Monica for quite a while. We looked at many apartments in the area but none of them really appealed to us. Many apartments were not well maintained, we didn't like them or the staff were incredibly unfriendly. At this point, we simply didn't feel like looking at any more apartments and decided to stay in Santa Monica. Then we discovered Haborfront and spontaneously went there without any great expectations. Then the big surprise ... we received an incredibly warm welcome. Alina took her time and showed us everything in detail, answered our questions and sent us all the information by email straight away. Oh my! After living in 550 Harborfront, an acceptable but hardly luxurious complex in the San Pedro section of LA for two years, I wished to move into a much larger unit. Away on an out-of-state business trip, I found a unit I wanted so I called the apartment office. I was told they would handle all the paper work but needed a check. I explained my being away and that I'd be happy to send the funds through an instant deposit. Their response? If they didn't have a check - even a personal check - in hand that someone else who "beat" me with a check would get the apartment. So this company would turn its nose up at an immediate deposit for a personal check that might very well bounce. What century is this company living in, and are they really fit to function in the nation's second largest city? Folks, run, run, run for your lives away from this and any other building managed by Holland in the LA area. Talk about an arcane system! I'm out! read more

The leasing agent who helped me, Tyler Ray, completely wasted my time. He misinformed me about rent rate for a particular unit I was interested in, he was also tardy and disorganized in sending me the extra information I requested, and seemed to forget things that were said in person just hours earlier. He wasted my time and I'm so upset to have driven so far to tour this place but that I also got my hopes up for nothing. When I scheduled my tour with Tyler I was very specific on my cap regarding rent. I gave him the number and he went ahead and showed me 4 units. He never went over the exact monthly rent for any of the units as we were in them. The last unit I saw I was very pleased with - I asked Tyler the rent price, the number he gave me was very much in my price range. He mentioned another unit that he could not show me but would send photos. I left there very happy and told him to please send me photos of one unit he could not show me and the leasing application. Hours went by with no email from Tyler. I had to call a few times to get him back and ask him to resend. I then made an appt with him to come back the following day to see the unit again and take measurements. After driving all the way back the unit he took me to was not the unit I was interested in. HE COMPLETELY WASTED MY PRECIOUS TIME. An hour drive each way. I have no respect or faith for Tyler Ray or the leasing dept at 550 Harborfront. Terrible business practices. Agents need better training. read more

I want to reccomend a really nice place to live. It is kept up and clean!!!! They are very dog friendly surprisingly very clean on that aspect, always smelling fresh. I also think that Cathy is just great and very hospitable and works very hard, to make sure everyone is happy including doggies. She is a very good employee for the company. The renters here are really pretty good - they do have really nice manners and are always friendly in and out the elevator. Excellent location too. So this place gets a thumbs up! read more

My car was vandalized early August in a parking space that I pay monthly. I immediately told property manager Carla and the lack of empathy she showed was highly disappointing. I requested for her to send an email blast to all tenants for awareness purposes and she failed to act on it immediately. I have changed parking space locations as a safety measure to ensure this doesn't happen again. Later to find out that multiple cars on the property were continuing to be vandalized. My fiancé and I took it upon ourselves to notify neighbors that we come across in the building to be aware. I followed up recently to see when will the email communication to tenants around this matter be sent out. Luckily, I came across two women from the property management team that were new to the building. They showed empathy and compassion towards the situation. Also, they took my notes from the unfortunate events and acted immediately. The same information I communicated to them was also given to Carla (Property Manager) and Maria (Senior Sales Manager) over a month ago and was completely ignored. Now a month later, the property management team finally sent an email communication to all tenants on safety and crime prevention. Had this communication been sent out sooner some prevention would've happened and tenants would be aware. For the amount of money we all pay to live on this property, the lack of customer service is horrible. They are so quick to nickel and dime us but fail to do the right thing when it comes to vandalism on their property. read more
