I've been going here for years now. I used to go hit the food truck up every weekend. I've supported this business but now it's gotten silly. I ordered the quesadilla pizza. Got cheese and sour cream and salsa to go with it. The cheese and sour cream cost extra for some reason. I got the saddest looking quesadilla ever. It was barely filled with chicken and even though I got charged for cheese it barely had any in it. Which was a topping I didnt get too. Next I order a few tacos and almost everytime I go in they mess up it somehow. I still told myself we need to support small business stuff is tough right now. I've let a bunch of times stuff missing in order or bad customer service go cause I know stuff happens but c'mon man. Pleasently surprised. When I go to a Mexican place for the first time and they have chile relleno on the menu, I will always order one to compare. If they can make a good chile relleno then I can assume the rest of the menu will follow. I've been to 559 taqueria many times and always been happy with the food but when I saw they added chile relleno to the menu I had to try it. It was no doubt the best chile relleno I have found anywhere. Props to the cook. Also the waitress was super nice and proud of their food and I can see why. This place can't deliver what they advertise per their insta posts, that being said when you walk in they have a post stating give 5 stars on yelp and receive 10% off on your bill so you are to give them a 5 star review before you eat their food!!! I ordered the Tijuana style taco with carnitas, my taco didn't have the guac the meat had no flavor and it was full of fat. My friend ordered the red taco thinking the consomé comes with it nope you have to order that separate with a charge. The molcajete which is $25 had burnt dried up meat and the tomatillo salsa was canned. Don't buy into the hype unless you want to get that 10% discount which clearly is not enough! read more

Disappointed tbh I really like their 559 Taco Truck and i heard they were going to open up a restaurant so i was really excited. I came the first time and it was definitely bad service but i figured you know what they just opened up. I came back the second time and it was definitely not worth the wait in a long line. they forgot my consome but whatever it was a $1, i told her no cilantro in my taco and it was added still, The nachos were so dry ! i couldn't even eat them at least my dogs enjoyed them jk lol. Finally tried this place after hearing the hype for years about the 559 food truck. I was hesitant because I heard mixed reviews about it being mediocre, sadly I agree. The service was quick and the staff was very nice but I paid $16 for 3 Al pastor tacos and a quesabirria taco and they weren't very good. I will say the quesabirria had a good meat to cheese ratio and had flavor but it wasn't amazing like they are known for. Also, the ink from the paper rubbed off onto my taco. Probably not very good for you but I just picked it off. The Al pastor tacos were super greasy and not very flavorful and the tacos were very very small for the price. I don't regret eating here and they were not terrible, but this won't be my first choice for tacos. Great staff though and it's a cute spot! read more

I've heard good things about this place and so i wanted to try it out. When i got there there was a line which is usually good because bad places tend to be empty. The menu looked great and seem to stay on the simple side of things. We ordered the birria quesa taco, which was pretty good, the shrimp tijuana taco was probably the best thing out of what i ordered and would recommend, the carnitas tijuana taco was a bit too salty in taste but still good, we also had some regular lengua and carne asada tacos which had good meet but the tortillas were awful sadly. On the price side of things, the prices seem fair and consistent with other places. However, one thing i absolutely didn't like was the surcharges on every meat, which would be ok if the menu mentioned it or if the cashier would've told me when i was ordering. Instead i had to find out after getting my receipt. I could understand the extra $.25 for barbacoa, the $.25 for carnitas, the $.25 for lengua, and even the $.75 for shrimp, but an extra charge for carne asada? I just felt like they were nickel and diming me which is not cool. Overall if you don't mind waiting a while for ok food and don't mind the extra charges then try this place out. read more

Went after grand opening, order was cold and soggy, torta Waited awhile to try again, disappointed AGAIN. Tried contacting number that's available, and got an automatic text with hours of operation. I Responded that I had a complaint whom do I contact, received response back saying to respond here. Went into detail about what I was disappointed with. And then NEVER received a response after that. I've grabbed food from 559 multiple times and it's so hit-and-miss.. It's either really good, or they've forgotten food in my order, or overcharged me somehow. They recently posted that they would be offering a "quesadilla pizza" and advertised it with a bunch of dipping options such as salsas, sour cream, guac, etc. I decided to order one from them via DoorDash for the listed price of $28, plus an upcharge for certain meats. Their birria de res was not a listed meat option, so I selected a random meat with the upcharge cost attached and included a note asking for the birria de res instead. I was EXTREMELY disappointed when I received my food and not only did I not get the meat I requested in my note, but I only got 2 green salsas and 2 red salsas.. so they basically sold me a meat and cheese quesadilla for $30... No guac. No sour cream. No extra salsas. The owners really need to look at what/how they advertise, and the product they are putting out. Word of mouth goes a long way, and if they continue down this path of mediocrity and pricing that doesn't match their product, they'll surely go out of business. read more

The worst food I have had i a long time. The rice and beans were Ice cold the chips were Old no salt. They have a menu board but only serve limit items so why have the menu up on the wall .the bathroom was a filithy mess no thanks the place is a wreck.This is a poor representation of Mexican food. I am giving a one star for the service not the food. my partner and I come here very often because the food is amazing and there's one staff member that is always amazing and manages to make us smile. Today, however, we went to go for lunch we order ourselves a drink and our food, wanting to have some good eats, and we noticed one table got their food before us even though they ordered after us we didn't think much of it because we are very very patient, but then another table received their food before us and then the last table that was outside received their food before us too so we go inside asking and everybody is confused? we finally get our food 40 minutes after ordering and we were told the other staff members believed they gave us food and we were trying to get free food. Our buzzer had never went off, nor did anybody come outside to bring us our food. I was very frustrated and started shaking because the implying wasn't fair to us. I came to 559 Taqueria today to pick up some Tijuana style tacos. It was busy but organized. I had four chicken and four Carne Yasuda tacos. They serve them with chopped onions cilantro and guacamole. They have three salsas and limes. I got home and my wife and I shared them. They were to die for!!!! Best tacos I have had in a year. Very disappointed in the tj taco asada with everything on it for $4 each and all it comes with is asada and guacamole. It was an order for take out so if I had known it was going to come out so plain I would've asked for the cilantro onions and cabbage on the side. I have to say the quesotacos are delicious. Again it just comes with meat of choice and melted cheese. You definitely have to dress it up yourselves to make them look like the pictures.
