The price is more than a "fast food" type pizza place; however, it's well worth it to eat a healthier Greek style of food. Great food and a restaurant overflowing with great employees! Highly recommend this spot and will be back every time we drive through Amarillo. Tonight, a Monday, we called 20 minutes before closing and placed a to-go order. They welcomed us to stay and eat at bar because my husband couldn't wait. Drove in from out of town and pulled into a poorly lit parking lot off the highway. Based upon the reviews we walked on in and enter a cafe style pizzeria. Immediately greeted and my reservations removed. A must if you want gourmet pizza. I'm a pizza snob and this place is fantastic. We ordered 3 extra small pizzas and split it between two of us. The Charlie Daniel was our # 1 favorite. Just the right balance of Canadian bacon and cheese. I was reluctant to order a pizza without marinara. That seemed un-American to me but that was perfect. The Rage comes in a close #2. The candied almonds gave just the right amount of sweet. If you're not a fan of jalapeños, we asked for basil instead, at no additional cost so I love they allow you to substitute. In 3rd place (and not in a bad way) was the Bender. If you want a mouth full of meat this is the pizza! Overall experience... staff is friendly and I loved that everyone was checking on tables, not just our sweet attentive server Victory. This place is one of the better restaurants in town. It's a shame it's hidden and underhyped. They have some nice selections of toppings. I couldn't even name them all but I definitely remember eggplant parmigiana! Crust is thin with just enough chewiness. Sauce seemed decent, and of course, heavy on the basil. Staff is young and a bit hipster, several kids from local bands work here, but it's not like eating pizza at Hot Topic or anything. Ambiance is great. Good attention to detail in decor, lighting. Seating is a bit tight. I often feel like I'm rubbing elbows with my neighbors and have had people comment on my conversations before, which is a little annoying for this ugly American with my huge bubble of personal space. Anyway I got over it and consider it part of the experience. Haven't messed with their wine selection as I don't buy wine that doesn't come in gallons but I was impressed with their beers and the prices aren't horrendous. As far as I know, this is the only place to get a cold St Arnolds Lawnmower! Definitely recommended. Now that Brothers is gone AGAIN I'm going to say this is probably the best pizza place in town. Let's face it... Amarillo is mostly tex-mex, chains and Steakhouses, so when I'm craving a pizza being far away from home.. There's not a whole lot of great options that aren't chains. Well.. This is where 575 enters. In a western arena of lacking pizza joints it stands king. My rating is based mostly by the area. Had this little place been in my neck of the woods in Ohio... We'd be looking at more like a solid three star rating. I didn't think hipsters existed in this part of the country until I stopped here and surprisingly it was a nice change of scenery from the local sneering we encountered around Amarillo. Everything is just chill here. They have a lot of hipster ales, IPAs and other drinks to wet your whistle, but the house made sangria really caught my eye. I imagine that's what you want to go for if you're looking for a good drink to accompany their pizza. The garlic knots are buttery, doughy goodness. The pizza was A-Ok! A flatbread style crust.. With "gourmet" toppings. I ordered the striped piggy with green chilies, bacon and numerous cheeses. With all the combinations.. It seemed it work. Prices run on the moderate side. I guess it's to be expected for some of the different ingredients. The crushed tomatoes they served as a dipping sauce on the side was phenomenal. They tasted almost like tomatoes from the garden. Very unexpected, for Amarillo. First, don't judge a book by its cover with the 70s shopping center location. Inside it's got pretty cool decor, for Amarillo. I even saw some Amarillo hispters! I almost thought I was at home in Austin for a minute. The pizza was pretty impressive. I got a small, but it was enough for two meals. The pepper, etc. they put on it makes it stand out too. Anyone who knows me knows I'm a sucker for pizza. I will do anything for a nice, big slice with fresh toppings and unique flavors. Well, I found it here in Amarillo. Nobody's reviewed this place since mid 2008 and that would explain why nobody has updated the restaurant's name. Imagine my surprise when I drove to Amarillo from Lubbock and tried to find Basil Doc's but couldn't. When I arrived at the listed address, I found 575° Pizzeria. Upon investingation, the hostess told me it's still the same place - just decided to change the name and their image a bit. Instead of a small, local family style pizzeria, they've evolved into a bit of a modern hotspot. It's still small, though. Why 575? Because that's how many degrees they bake their pizza in. It's because of this intense heat that gives it's homemade crust a light and airy texture. It's crisp and yet, not crunchy. Whatever adjective you want to use, there's no denying that it's DELICIOUS. My brother and I decided to split a large Neopolitan pizza ($16 + $2 per topping). In hindsight, maybe this was a bad idea considering this pizza is 18" across and has 12 slices. Haha, hey we're big boys - we need a big pizza. As I mentioned before, the crust is homemade. The Neopolitan pizza is basically a "thin crust" formof pizza and that's OK because I love it that way. It doesn't fill you up too much. We ordered the pizza with meatballs and roasted red pepper. The meatballs were seasoned and tasted great, but the thing that made this pizza POP was the roasted red peppers! Why don't they put these on every pizza?? Succulant, marinaded red peppers gave this pizza a smokey, robust flavor that was complimented more by the tasty meatballs. Sprinkle some parmessan and some dried red pepper flakes and you've got yourself some pizza nirvana. And although this pizza is huge, we managed to put it away. Thank you, thin crust! 575 is located in a old strip mall and it's probably for that reason that many people have driven by this place and not given it a second glance. What a shame. You don't know what you're missing! Sure, it's small and seating is limited, but the pies here are to die for. If I was the owner, I'd definitely invest in a bigger sign that's lit up so people could identify this place. Instead, all that hangs over this restaurant is a sign that looks like it was printed on a canvas and nailed down. Spread the word around: if you're in Amarillo and love pizza, 575 is where it's at! read more

I had "the Rage" with mozzarella, candied almonds, goat cheese, jalapenos, and bacon. I'm a pineapple pizza lover, so I was intrigued by the candied almonds--a sweet pizza topping I'd never seen before. Holy cow, I was not disappointed! The candied almonds were my favorite part of this chewy-crusted goodness, but all the flavors complemented each other perfectly. Sweet from the almonds, rich and salty from the bacon, a low-burning heat from the jalapenos, all brought together and smoothed out with creamy mozzarella and tangy goat cheese. Just the chewy, cheesy, spicy goodness I needed to thaw out my frozen insides. My boyfriend had the meat-loving "Bender," with pepperoni, bacon, sausage, and Canadian bacon. All the meats tasted fresh and flavorful, like the best version of the meaty favorites you know and love. No thin, floppy pepperoni over here! I especially loved the sausage, which had a tangy anise flavor to it. That added a nice bit of lightness and refinement to the otherwise hearty meat flavors. If a lumberjack wanted to curl up by the fire, watch the snow fall outside his cabin in the woods, and eat a pizza, this is the pizza he would get. The service was great and super friendly, especially considering we showed up about 15 minutes before the kitchen closed on a night when no one was out and most of the roads were iced over. Good quality food... also a nice spot with really nice people running it. I was surprised to find such a great drink list at a place this size. Especially the wines. This place is charming in one other major way, too. (I'm surprised the hipsters aren't camping out yet...) It's very out-of-the-way. It's not on a major or even really a well-travelled street (thought it's near one). It's kind of tucked away into a very quiet unassuming business park near a bakery and a wholesale appliance store. This means that when you find it, if you like it, you can pretend it's all yours. I am sure it will develop a small but very protective following if it stays open a while longer. Just a little update: Boy, has it developed a well-earned following. It's been ages since I've been able to get a table for dinner without a wait. It's busy enough that the bakery next door has decided to get bitchy and tow cars from their "side" of the lot even after business hours. Classy! So yeah... be warned, lest ye be towed. I also can't stress this enough-- the pizza is TOTALLY worth the hassle. I like ordering the Welsh with goat cheese subbed for red onions. 575 has got to be my all-time favorite restaurant in town. I have been going to 575 for years and rarely, if ever have I been disappointed. It all started back in college when my friends and I would go for pizza and drinks after night classes downtown. This was the place that first introduced my taste buds to gourmet pizza and I haven't looked back. This place has countless pizza options. Choose one of their specialty recipes, modify, or even create your own! You have the ability to order any pizza as a red or white pie (yes, they're called pies). That is, with tomato sauce or no tomato sauce and drizzled with olive oil. I prefer my pies white, as the tomato sauce is a little too chunky for my liking. It's all a preference thing. My go-to pie is a half Bender, half Quattro, all white, with a gluten free crust. I prefer the gluten free crust, as the regular crust can be a little harsh on the mouth as it's little tough. Again, this is based on personal preference. If you don't eat ranch with your pizza, now is the time to start. Their freshly made ranch dressing recipe is my absolute favorite. It has become so popular that they now bottle it and sell it! They also offer delightful salads to get your taste buds warmed up. The beer and wine selection is also above par. My favorite is the $3 Brown Bag Special. Basically, bartender's choice, served in a paper bag, with a chilled glass. If you let the bartender know the type of beer you like, they'll pick out the perfect brown bagger that suits you. So classy. If you are thinking about going, stop! Just go! This place really fills the craving for yummy gourmet pizza. Amarillo in general seems to lack quality pies, but this place is one of the exceptions. I like all of the pizzas I've tried and enjoy the salads as well. They have caprese on the menu year round, but instead of serving of serving out of season tomatoes, they serve the salad with canned tomatoes. Naturally, nothing takes the place of a ripe heirloom, but I thought this was a clever alternative! Great pizza place! The acoustics are a bit loud but the food vastly outweighs the noise. Decent wine list (impressive amount of beers but I'm not a beer drinker) and a great menu with lots of pizza options. The kids menu was a great deal and our 3 year old was given the choice of his toppings so he actually ate his personal pizza. The staff was friendly but not overly attentive which was fine ultimately as it wasn't a long wait for our food. It became obvious as we started our road trip to Santa Fe that we would be yelping our way through most of our meals. Now, I'm just trying to keep up with reviews ;). A BIG THANKS to yelpers for pointing us at this restaurant. It was a wonderful experience! So, as mentioned in other reviews, this restaurant is pretty small. Even after 8, this place as buzzing. We were told a wait for 30 minutes for a table for two, but were seated almost moments later at the bar-- which was just fine! Our waiter / bartender was great. He was funny, friendly, and very approachable. He discussed the MANY beers that they have available and was very helpful in helping us choose the right one for us. He even gave me samples of a couple of the tap-beers so I could be sure. The pizza sizes are XS, S, and L. We ordered a small White Pie and I've waited too long to post this because I can't remember the name. It had artichokes, basil, and you know... other good stuff. It was delicious. Their White Pies do not have tomato sauce, and it was a tasty new twist for me. Finally, the dessert. Neither of us expected the desserts to be spectacular at a joint like this, but they were! He had the bread pudding and it was amazing. I had the coconut cheesecake and it was spectacular. It just melted in my mouth, yum! The bartender said something about the desserts being made fresh daily at... "real foods"? I'm not sure where he meant, but whoever they are... they know what they are doing! This is what edible art is meant to be, the dough is perfectly mixed between crisp and doughy, sauce is savory amazingly seasoned and toppings are top shelf quality. I would highly reccommend the alternative choice of the "white pizzas" without their rather obnoxious amounts of red tomato sauce splattered on their normal "red pizzas". I called in a to-go order on my drive home from Colorado to Dallas. I hardly think we could've made a better choice. They took my number off the caller ID for the order (a convenience I'm a huge fan of) and told me it would be ready in 20 minutes. When I said I wouldn't be there for 30 minutes, they said they'd hold the order 10 minutes so it'd be fresh baked when we got there. I was pleasantly surprised by the interior. Fun, funky, and inviting, I would've hung out for a beer if I didn't still have half my drive ahead of me. The pizza is genuinely tasty; you can tell they use quality ingredients, especially the pepperoni. I like a thin crust, crispy pizza. I wish they delivered to my house, it's *way* better than the place I order from in Dallas. What made this a 5 star, instead of 4 star review, was the staff. Not only did they do a great job on the phone, but we were greeted warmly and taken care of promptly. I had to use the facilities, and the guys went out of their way to make sure my boyfriend was comfortable while he waited. Great decision. Great pizza. Can't say enough about this place every time I go. This last time I bought three large pizzas. After a 40 minute drive to work the pizzas were still delicious. All the ingredients and flavors held up even though they had reach room temperature by the time I could get them delivered.
