575 is unfortunately one of the most happening places you can eat in Amarillo, although I can't really judge since I don't live there. But I commend 575 for working with the rather small space they own and making it actually cool. The food is really pretty good and the atmosphere was a come from behind sucess. I would highly reccommend the alternative choice of the "white pizzas" without their rather obnoxious amounts of red tomato sauce splattered on their normal "red pizzas". I called in a to-go order on my drive home from Colorado to Dallas. I hardly think we could've made a better choice. They took my number off the caller ID for the order (a convenience I'm a huge fan of) and told me it would be ready in 20 minutes. When I said I wouldn't be there for 30 minutes, they said they'd hold the order 10 minutes so it'd be fresh baked when we got there. I was pleasantly surprised by the interior. Fun, funky, and inviting, I would've hung out for a beer if I didn't still have half my drive ahead of me. The pizza is genuinely tasty; you can tell they use quality ingredients, especially the pepperoni. I like a thin crust, crispy pizza. I wish they delivered to my house, it's *way* better than the place I order from in Dallas. What made this a 5 star, instead of 4 star review, was the staff. Not only did they do a great job on the phone, but we were greeted warmly and taken care of promptly. I had to use the facilities, and the guys went out of their way to make sure my boyfriend was comfortable while he waited. Great decision. Great pizza. Best pizza in town. Get there early or expect a wait for a table, as the place is usually packed. Being so packed, expect to be crowded in around your table if your party is an odd size. In the winter the cold blasts in the front door, so you need to eat with your coat on. Were it not for the facility issues, I'd give it a 5 star. Yum. 575 is my favorite for pizza. The Colorado has spinach, feta, & broccoli & is wonderful! Prices are considerably more than your regular Pizza Hut or Dominoes, but the quality is exceptionally better. Expect a wait though, the pizza is made to order & does take time. read more

This is hands down the best restaurant in Amarillo (yes I've eaten at BL Bistro and many other places and am comparing them all to 575). They've typically got a reasonable selection of microbrews on tap with an awesome selection of bottled/canned beers from other craft breweries. My last sit-in at 575 they had Alaskan and Deep Ellum on tap with Anderson Valley's Blood Orange Goose in the can (one of their amazing seasonal sours that you can't even find at Spec's in Lubbock right now, and they've got one heck of a deal on a 6 pack!) and Deep Ellum's Dream Crusher double IPA in the can as well. The Doro is my favourite pizza by far, though I've had a couple others that weren't bad by any means. I do enjoy the garlic knots as well! They make everything from scratch, so you can really tell the difference between their pizza and other places around here. They have several TVs around the restaurant and will put on football (aka "soccer") and hockey if there are games going. The servers I've had when I've eaten in the restaurant have all been lovely! The only down side is that if an American football game is on it gets to be pretty loud so I personally prefer to take my orders to-go when they're on. The only real downside is that this place is closed on Sunday's. read more

This place was definitely worth the stop! I would highly highly recommend. The staff was very welcoming and hospitable, they were always sure to fill up our beverages and make sure we had everything we needed. We had a long day out at Palo Duro hiking so they made sure to keep our waters filled up :) On top of that the food was delicious. Amarillo for the night for travel and heading out early we got a large pizza and a salad and some bread sticks and it was almost 42 bucks before tip.... not a good start. When we got the food back to the hotel the pizza was almost completely burned across the top and undercooked underneath. Very disappointed and so tired we didn't drive back to get it fixed read more

Great pizza place and the best in Amarillo. Hell it might be the only pizza place in Amarillo now that I think about it... The pizza here is very good and there are a lot of options. I usually split my pizza in half, with half of it being The Bender and the other being the Light House. The Light House is delicious, as it's basically olive oil, mozzarella, and shrimp, which I think is unique. The only drawbacks are that a pie is pretty pricey and that there's limited seeding. I can't remember a time where I didn't have to wait before eating. Once, we took a bunch of out-of-towners here but left because we would've had to wait so long. read more

I have been going to this restaurant since it was called Basil Doc's! (A whiiiiile ago) I prefer this location to the newer one on Hillside, though that one is a bit more conveniently located to where I live, I like how intimate this one is. I always, always tell people it's the best date place. The biking community in Amarillo is really celebrated here, and frequent the place, which is cool. I like knowing places I frequent poor back into the community. The wine selection isn't Huge, but it is good. The sangria is worth writing home about. I could (and have) finished a pitcher by myself. For being a higher-end pizza place, the prices are still very friendly, and the options amazing. I love the white pizzas, as I'm not a huge red sauce fan. Every option that includes kalamata olives is great, but I've never had a bad pizza here. Their Omni pizza is normally what gets the best write up in publications near and far, but I don't think it's as wowy-Zowy as other offerings, though it is a yummy safe choice. I'd recommend ordering something a bit more out of the box, they do that very well here. The pizza is very thin crust, so the edges char, which I adore-- very New York. The size of the space harkens of the city as well. I've never had an issue finding a parking place, even though the parking lot does get packed. read more

This place has a great menu. You can get a more gourmet style pizza or you can build your own. The pizza was delicious! They have an extensive beer selection and friendly service, we sat at the bar. We were a little worried when driving up and parking but the restaurant was modern, nice, and clean inside, although the prices are a little high. The service isn't the best. The waiters tend to spend a lot of time socializing with each other and regular customers. It is cool that they have a brick oven for the pizzas. On one visit however, they burned a pizza and the whole place filled with smoke. After that everything tasted like smoke and slightly burned. They should also have a full bar. read more

Back again at what I consider one of the best pizzerias in town. Went before 5 on a Friday afternoon and, for the first time, the crowds were not an issue. This place is unique in Amarillo, and gives the flavor and atmosphere of a hip place you would expect to find in Atlanta or Dallas (I give them props for that, but they would need to step up their game a notch if they were in either of these cities). This time, we tried the Edelweiss and added sausage. If you like Artichoke hearts this is a must try. Combined with goat cheese, this was very tasty. All in all a very satisfying meal. The dough on all their pies resembles a flat bread much more than your traditional NY style thin crust. I'm not saying that's bad, I like it, but I know some folks won't be expecting that. We will then converse with our server who is always super friendly, probably the most friendly, wed know because we've seen how the others interact with me and brush me off. Our order is taken and given to the cooks. So our party can enjoy the conversations. Gossip and get to know about the tables around us. Very New York city feel Pizzeria. I love. Husband and I went on a spontaneous date tonight and the place was pretty busy (Civic Circle location). So worth the wait, though! The pizza was delicious and they treated us amazingly well - half of our pizza got burnt in the oven that wasn't heating evenly, but they still brought it out for us to much on (the non-burnt pieces) while they were making us a whole new one. 575 has pizza sewed up in amarillo. Very friendly staff. Very crowded and sound level high. Worth the wait, and many people do. I ordered the Edelweiss (artichoke and goat cheese) and my friend had a pineapple portabello,pine nut, basil topping. We were both pleased. For dessert we picked the cherry bread pudding (not made inhouse) and the amaretto cannoli. Special thanks to Miss Mo for her gracious hospitality. We came because of the good reviews! The waiter was very attentive and helpful. We got the garlic knots which we all loved! The waiter came out and apologized saying that our pizzas were burned and were being remade. We were glad that the waiter gave us a heads up. When they brought out the pizza it looked like one of them was a little to crispy for our liking. They pizzas overall were very good! I am only giving 4 instead of 5 because of the fact that the more toppings you have the more toasted the top layer is. We found this place using yelp because we didn't know the area very well. We pulled up in the shopping center and were slightly weary but were starving after being at the Dragway all day! We walked in and were very pleasantly surprised! It has a beautiful interior with intimate table settings. It was bright and the staff was very friendly. They have an extremely impressive array of beer, goes beyond the normal top picks, and a good selection of wine. The food is reasonably priced and is made with extremely fresh toppings and hand tossed dough! While we were eating the owner was helping to wash dishes at the bar, he was extremely friendly and down to earth. For Amarillo this is about as good as it will get for pizza. I love deep dish pizza but I am also a fan of pizza that has a light crispy thin crust that isn't heavy on sauce. That is what you get here. My wife and I ordered a small pepperoni, ground beef, red onion pizza along with bread with spinach artichoke dip. The dip was nice and warm with plenty to spread on each bread piece. Add two sodas, the price of $21 was pretty good for what we got to me. We came right at 5 on a Friday and there was already a 10-15 minute wait, so I figure most nights you will have to be patient. After being seated the wait staff did a good job serving us. If there is a negative it would be that it was kind of noisy and the place is kind of small. To be honest this place is probably more of a 4.5 rating. But since I enjoyed this place i feel good about rounding my rating up. read more

From the crust to the toppings, the pizza we had here was outstandingly delicious. There was a wait when we arrived, but judging how busy it was and how many people were willing to wait, we figured it had to be great, and it was! The menu was pretty thorough, with both red pies (traditional tomato based sauce) and white pies (olive oil instead of sauce) as well as a "build your own" option. We started off with the cheese bread, which was fantastic. I wish the sauce had more of a kick to it, but they did have plenty of condiments and spices on the table so we were able to add some red pepper to give it some spice. When our pizza arrived, it was obvious that it had been cooked in a pizza oven, crispy toppings and a crunchy crust. The crust was thick enough to hold the toppings, but still thin enough so that it didn't overwhelm the pizza. As far as price, yes, it's more than a national pizza chain would be, but the quality is so much better it is worth the extra cost! They have a good selection of cocktails, wine and beer as well.
