This was my first time here and I was in the worst pain ever. I came in under the impression that I had a partial herniated disc... so to backtrack, last week Friday (13th) I was putting on my socks and BAM! Out of nowhere I felt a sharp pain in my lower back and fell to the ground. I thought it would be temporary and everything would be ok, but sadly I was wrong. I tried to go in to work and had to get off the train and rush to my boyfriends chiro for help. He did what he could, but the pain was still unbearable and I had a flight to catch! I made the trip, but it wasn't enjoyable at all, looking back on things, I should've just taken the L and missed the trip, but I had to be there for my friend and I feel better now so worth it right?!! Once I arrived, I was greeted by the receptionist who had me fill out all the proper paperwork and then I went to see Dr. Bruce! I explained to him what was going on and as soon as he examined me I started crying. When I tell y'all my pain was unbearable I was not kidding! He could tell how much I was hurting and assured me that he'd do everything to help me feel better. After just the first treatment.... y'all I couldn't believe it but I actually left feeling better. I was walking back to my office with a smile and a little pep in my step. I thought they were doing some kind of witchcraft in there because the difference from when I walked in to now leaving was HUGE! I couldn't wait to go back to my next session so I could get to 100% The second session wasn't so great, I left thinking things got worse, but after the third and I fourth, I realized this was all part of the process and finally I can say that I am back to my old self.. but with a better back! Dr. Bruce was fantastic and I am so thankful to him for helping me get to a better place. Although I feel better, I plan on going back soon because it's nice to just get seen and make sure things are going along as they should. After this experience I realized, you shouldn't wait until something is terribly wrong to make yourself and your health a priority. And also, the massage therapists they have there are AMAZING!!!!!! What wonderful people. One of their representatives were at our company Wellness Fair and mentioned that they were offering a free first consultation for us so I made an appointment on the spot for a couple of weeks ahead of time. Couple days later, I found myself in excruciating pain on my upper back (shoulder blade) and called them to see if I can pop in for that first visit. Not only did they say "yes, sure come in now," but they also treated the free consultation as if I was already a paying client. Very very nice staff, big & clean office space, looks like they treat all different kinds of things due to the number of staff members and equipment. Already have a follow up appointment. I absolutely love these guys. You can not find a better group of chiropractors in NYC at all. I made the mistake this year, of seeing another chiro, who I think did worse for me than better and I felt awful for not going back to 5th Ave originally. This establishment is either run by not so smart people or they are scammers. I have been visiting for a month and was told last night that there is an issue with my insurance - that I need to make a copayment. The ONLY reason I am visiting the office is because I do NOT have to pay co-pay. The doctor told me he thought I had the other kind of insurance that doesn't require copay. Isn't that his job to check each patient's insurance coverage? He asked me who informed me that I do not have to pay copay and said "the girl at the health fair?" So he knew his own staff had messed up. Then he told me he won't charge me the copays for my past visits but legally I have to pay him something. He said my copay for specialist is $20 and for my primary physician is $15. When I mentioned that that still adds up - twice a week and 4 weeks a month = $120. Then he change his tune and said I can pay whatever I want, $10, whatever. He said "I have to tell them (insurance company) that I am paying something when they ask." I am not sure how that works with the insurance claims. Thus far he has not filed any claims with my insurance carrier for my past 8 visits. How would he file the claims for the past month? If what he said is true (that I had to payment something), then how would he file out the claim form? That I paid something? And if that is true then why can he continue to do that? He might not be a scammer but he is definitely not very professional. read more

Super nice doctors. Staff could be more professional and less chatty. The place has a weird, open layout... the chair massages happen next to the chatty staff (distracting, as I find their conversations to be occasionally inappropriate for work), and the place where you get the electro-massage is tables separated by paper curtains, almost like one of those cheap thai massage places. If you don't care about what I mentioned above, then give 5th Ave Chiropractic a try. I came in for a free consultation, and had to follow back up from that appointment, and they didn't charge me for the follow up either (which they shouldn't have, as the doctor said it was a part of the first visit, but still, that was nice). read more

Chiropractors are liars and if you want real advice, you should seek a real doctor - an orthopedist. I came here and was immediately x-rayed being told I have scoliosis. I was told to keep coming for "Adjustments" so I did. After 3 weeks or so on massages, adjustments, ultrasounds nothing was changing. In fact I was wasting more time in there every time I went because they always overbook their patients. Just coming in for a 15 minute electrolysis massage, a 15 minute person massage and a 5 minute adjustment apparently needs 1 and a half hours worth of time??! There's like no privacy either. It's like one of those chinese massage salons where everyone is just put into a "section" covered up by a crappy black curtain. Even when I asked to just get the adjustment without any of the other stuff just to make things go quicker, it was refused and I was told to go wait yet AGAIN for more massages. Also their staff admitted to taking 1-2 months before they even begin processing your claims. Needless to say I will never be coming back and if you want real advice, go see a real doctor. After going to an orthopedist I was told that my neck pain has nothing to do with my spine being "uneven" and its all just a matter of me doing some stretching and exercise at home. No need to waste anymore time and money coming here. read more

Dr. Jack is a miracle worker! I've been suffering from migraines for over 10 years. I've been to multiple neurologists, chiropractors, acupuncturists, and other misc specialists. I've taken so many different kinds of medications. I've even done the new botox that is indicated for migraines. Nothing has remotely helped. I got to a point where I thought I was going to have to live with this awful daily pain for the rest of my life and it's so debilitating that it gets in the way of my work! I've been going to Dr. Jack for almost 3 months now. I go twice a week. I get e-sim, ultrasound, massage, and he adjusts my neck. He also made me adjust my work station so I sit up straight and look straight at my computer screen. For the first time in 10 years, I'm finally seeing results. My migraines are less frequent and less intense. I have more energy and I can finally make it through a work day without feeling like I'm about to die by the end of the day. I have a little kid and I can't afford to come home in pain and not be able to take care of him. I'm so grateful to Dr. Jack and I highly highly recommend him. read more

I've had a good experience here. The office looks messy when you first walk in, and I thought some of the electrical equipment was weird at first. But the massage therapy and ergonomic desk assessment was spot-on. Just make sure you have a good insurance plan, and then come here! I don't write many yelp reviews, but when they are superb...I do. Dr. Jack and his team have drastically helped my lower back issues and the tightness I have in my hips and hamstrings. Being a runner, I get very tight and uncomfortable and since I have been going to see him weekly, my day to day pain has gone away and I'm running better than ever. I've been seeing Dr. Jack for about 2 months for persistent headaches. Over the last few years I've tried physical therapy, muscle relaxers and stretching. Nothing has helped. Finally with visits twice a week my headaches have begun to diminish and have become gradually less frequent! Between the e-stimulation, massage therapy and gentle adjustments I'm finally seeing improvement. We're moving down to 1 visit a week now since things are going so well. Dr. Jack is friendly and personable and very knowledgeable. He does juggle a lot of patients but he does so skillfully and I never feel like I'm being made to wait for any prolonged period of time. Also he has a great staff who know the patients by name and greet them pleasantly each visit. I've never trusted chiropractors and never thought I would regularly see one but it is helping so much and I've changed my tune because of Dr. Jack. I did try other chiropractors in the city in the past... I felt like I was being swindled or tricked into having adjustments and treatments that I didn't need, and they were suggesting them for absurd time periods. Dr. Jack doesn't do this, he is honest and continuously asks how I feel about the treatment. I highly recommend seeing him and his wonderful staff! read more

I have never written a Yelp review before, but the service has been so terrible that I am forced to do this. I wanted to schedule an appointment to see a doctor or therapist about my back. I was placed on hold several times over about a half and hour. They did not want to give me an appointment because I wanted to redeem a gift a had received for their services. I am in pain right now and was looking forward to using the gift since I do not have insurance and have held on to the certificate for so long. The staff was extremely rude, placing me on hold NUMEROUS times, and then claiming they have no appointments at all. I find it very hard to believe that they are fully booked all day long, all week. If this is the way they run their business I would shocked if they had any patients. I am appalled at how I was treated. I believe they acted this way because I do not have insurance and wanted to take advantage of my gift certificate. This is not how you treat patients or customers. This place is a joke of a practice in my opinion. They would have to apologize profusely and offer me an immediate appointment in order for me to change my rating and review of them. Dr Jack was by far the best back doctor I have ever been to (I've been for 6 or 7 and had 5 epidurals, and multiple injections and medicine régimes that incapacitated me) . I have a herniated disk in my back that cause excruciating pain and for 5 days I was walking crooked. On the recommendation of a college, I got Dr. Jacks card. This was the best thing to happen to me in a long time. Dr. Jack saw me very quickly and was very honest with me. On the first visit he explained what he was going to do but made no promises like many other doctors do. After the first visit, I knew what was wrong and the treatment started. By the second visit the treatment was take just a littler further and I walked out of the office standing up strait!!!! This was a blessing. Jack made no promises that the pain would be gone but that I would be walking strait AND HE WAS SPOT ON. Now 2 days after my last visit, I am walking straight up AND without pain. Dr. Jack, you are a miracle worker and a fantastic doctor. You honesty and sincerity about making your patients feel better is second to none. Keep up the great work Jack. Horrible Service! After chronic back pains I finally decided to go to a chiropractor and found this practice from my insurance directory. I went in for a preliminary assessment and was prompt for my appointment. The chiropractor took my x-rays then told me that in order to give me a prognosis I would have to see a massage therapist while he examined my x-rays. He told me that "since no massage therapists were available at the moment, I would have to wait back in the reception area until I was called in for a massage therapist. "Won't take more than 5 minutes", he had told me. I had waited for over 45 minutes while about 20 other patients had come and gone and I was still sitting at the reception area. At this point I was getting annoyed and if I had stayed any longer, would have missed the last bus to go home. I went to the receptionist and told her I was waiting for almost an hour and wanted to know what was going on because I had to leave. The chiropractor came out and apologized and said that he had forgotten about me! To add injury to insult he was the one who was personally calling the other patients in (I was sitting right next to all of them). He must have been blind for him to NOT see that I was sitting right there. When I explained that I had been patiently waiting and now was not happy because I may miss my bus, he said "Don't worry, you can come in on Monday so we can do an assessment". I was flabbergasted. This place is a waste of time. How can you run a business like that when you forget about new potential patients? My advice - find another chiropractor! read more
