Came to 5th Avenue Grille in Frisco after an 8-hour drive. We were starving, tired, and at that point I probably would've eaten a napkin if it came with ranch. We had my service dog with us. And yes--she IS a legitimate service animal. After standing at the front for a few minutes, the waiter finally approached us with, "Are you looking to sit outside, or are you just looking at the menu, or what?" Well... hello to you too. We asked if we could sit inside if there was availability. That apparently earned us an eye roll. I even offered to show documentation for my service dog, and his response was basically, "I'll get the owner and you can talk to him." At that point, the vibe had gone from "not very welcoming" to "we clearly don't want you people in here." I can't know what was going through his head, but the way he looked at us, spoke to us, and reacted to a simple request came across as genuinely prejudiced and discriminatory--not just rude customer service. Maybe we didn't fit the preferred 5th Avenue Grille aesthetic after eight hours on the road. Sorry, I forgot to pack my dinner blazer in the camper van. We decided to leave rather than spend money somewhere that made us feel unwelcome before we even sat down. Food might be great. We'll never know. Hospitality, however, was definitely not on tonight's menu. Would not recommend. read more

My wife and I stopped at 5th Ave Grille for dinner on our way back to Monument, and I'm really glad we did. We shared the small salad and the pasta with the steak add-on, and everything was fantastic. We sat in the bar area and skipped the cocktails since we were driving home, but I did order a Shirley Temple. Call me crazy, but it was honestly the best Shirley Temple I've ever had. We spent the last part of dinner going back and forth on dessert -- the cookie/ s'mores -- and decided to pass. The second we got in the car, we both regretted it. If you're wandering down Main Street in Frisco and debating where to land, skip the guesswork and head straight to 5th Ave. Grill. Karissa, our waitress, was the definition of sweet and attentive - she not only kept everything flowing smoothly but had spot-on menu suggestions that made choosing easy. Behind the bar, Zach and Tyler deserve a round of applause (and maybe another round of martinis). Their apple martini (-add sugar rim and extra cherries) is the kind of drink you don't forget, and somehow every cocktail came out consistent no matter how many rounds we ordered - which is no small feat in a busy mountain-town bar. Tip: try the raspberry gimlet, it was a fave. The food is equally worth bragging about. The bison sliders are rich and flavorful, the flatbread from the happy hour menu might just ruin you for all other flatbreads, and the Baja fish tacos are so good they've become a repeat order for me. Throw in live music some nights, outside seating for when Colorado weather cooperates, and a bar that feels classy even if the overall decor is a touch dated - and you've got the perfect casual-meets-classy spot. Other restaurants on Main Street might try to lure you in, but trust me - this is the one that keeps you coming back. read more

I can never get enough of this place! Their steaks are amazing, and they just added a new (to me) Dubai s'more that was fabulous!

We came here for their happy hour from 4:30-5:30pm on a Saturday. We had to wait 15 minutes for a table in the patio with our dog. the host and waitress were attentive after we sat down. The martinis were $9, so I got a cosmo and it was really good! Their appetizers were about one to two dollars less expensive than the regular menu, and the portions were generous. We ordered eggplant and artichoke hummus ($15). They make their own flat bread, and that was thin and crispy on the outside chewy on the inside all at the same time. Beef tips with carmelized onions and mushrooms ($16) and fried fish tacos ($12). It was enough food for two people but I also ordered Greek Cobb salad ($16) and that was okay. We sat outside and it was so nice on a day in the 70s but there were also many people inside sitting in the booth, bar, or the tables. read more

Went to lunch this week, menus are basically the same with some changes. Our food took a while after we ordered and when it arrived it was cold. Nothing special here. The appetizers were a lot better than the entrees. Our server was lovely and the place has a vibrant atmosphere around the bar. The bang bang shrimp was probably the highlight of our meal, but unfortunately our entrées were such a letdown. The trout which was supposed to be fantastic was mediocre, and I felt like a hodgepodge of everything was thrown at it. There was no star in that dish just a bunch of actors. The Panzalle was a decent size but those huge focaccia crotons are too big, I add shrimp as my protein and it was painfully overdone. Overall a cute place but the food isn't memorable and at that price they really need to deliver better food. read more

To say dining at the 5th Street Grille in Frisco, CO was a disappointment would be an understatement.  If picking a restaurant in Frisco, I would take a "hard pass" on the 5th Street Grille. Upon arriving for our 7 PM reservation, my significant other and I were seated in what has to be the worst table in the restaurant. The table for two was jammed against a wall and it was cramped to say the least.  We noticed at least 4 empty tables for two adjacent to the one we were seated at and took it upon ourselves to move to one of those tables to give us more room.  We sat for quite awhile before anyone waited on us which seemed to be unusual as the restaurant was not busy. Finally our waiter Dan, served us water and said he would be right back to take our drink order.  After approximately 10 minutes, Dan returned and asked for our drink order and then immediately asked us for our dinner order (I found this odd as most waiters will serve drinks before taking a dinner order - needless to say we felt rushed).  Much to our surprise, while waiting for our drinks to arrive, we were served the "wedge" salad.   When the salad was served, I asked the server if this was a wedge salad which he assured me it was.  The "wedge" salad consisted of shredded lettuce as opposed to a "wedge" of lettuce which was what I was expecting.  After eating about half of the salad, our drinks finally arrived.  The bar service was also a disappointment as I ordered a Vodka Tonic with a twist of Lime. The bartender must have had only one lime for the evening as the "twist" of lime amounted to a meager slice of lime peel measuring about 1/8" x 3/4".   The liquor selection was a disappointment as my significant other prefers a Canadian Blended Whiskey (ie Canadian Club, Crown Royal) which was not available.  He decided on having a beer only to discover no Anheuser-Busch products were available.  He settled for a Coors Light.  As far as the table setting goes, it also left much to be desired.  The cloth napkin was nice, however, there was no salad fork or spoons included in the silverware.  The flowers on the table were wilting and almost dead.  Our table setting included a bread plate, however, no bread was served.  We ordered two steaks; a ribeye and filet.  The filet was cooked and seasoned nicely and was very good.  This was not the case with the ribeye which was served "sliced" (very strange) and had a very peculiar flavor.  I see why the server, Dan, recommended we try one of the various sauces served with their steaks. The asparagus stalks were very large and seasoned with a vinaigrette dressing of some sort which was, in my opinion, not good at all.  The mashed potatoes were very good and probably the high point of the meal.   The waiter must have been having a bad night as he was very unfriendly and paid us very little attention. The entire dining experience was awful and we definitely will not go back nor would we recommend it to anyone. We have, on the other hand, eaten at Greco's Pastaria, Tavern West and Eclectic Kitchen and Bar and highly recommend any of these establishments for great food and great service. read more

This place is the best in freaking Frisco! Happy hour is the tits! We got lemon drops, spicy margs and smoked old fashioneds. We followed drinks with a dry aged ribeye! They have an assortment of steak sizes ranging from personal to 30 oz for the whole family. Lucky for me I did not bring my family and had the best meal of my life. Great service! Hot bartenders! Anyone who really knows about food would definitely appreciate this place. The food is absolutely the best I've had thus far in Colorado. Hands down, the precision and layers of flavor in every single dish just makes this place simply a go to spot! Close your eyes and just pick a dish at random. You will not be disappointed. Stopped in for dinner while staying in Frisco. We didn't have reservations but they were able to fit us in. The food was excellent. I had the ruby trout with coconut rice and my son had the duck breast entree. Both were nicely flavored and on the rich side - good stick to your ribs food for after skiing. Not your normal bar food. Great happy hour from 3:00 to 5:30. Get there early to get a seat. Our go to happy hour items are the bang bang shrimp, steak bites, fish tacos and chicken tenders which are legit because they are actually a hand battered chicken breast. I should've taken more pictures, but honestly--what even was this steak? For $49, I expected something decent. Instead, what came out looked more like a pork chop, gray and lifeless, and after sending it back, the replacement was just as bad. The potatoes that came with tasted like they were leftovers from days before. Hands down the worst meal I've had in years. IHOP could've served a better steak, no joke. The only good things? The Dr Pepper and the fries. That's it. To be fair, our server did notice how unhappy we were and even mentioned frustration with the kitchen, but nothing was done to make it right. As someone who's waited tables, I know it can be tough when the kitchen drops the ball, but usually there's at least some effort to turn the experience around. Save your money. I very rarely yelp review, and normally a negative to warn of a terrible experience. I can't help myself but to rave about this lovely spot in Frisco--several minutes from Copper Mountain. Every. Single. Dish is made with love and is so full of flavor. We shared bao buns (insanely good) Brussels and the Caesar ( I could eat this amazing dressing on this Caesar every day!) to start. We had a chicken special--Duck (seriously amazing--cooked perfectly --- gravy so light but flavorful and veggies perfect) and the fish with the beet and carrot ravioli. We can't pick one that was better than the next. Dessert -- homemade root beer float -- topped it all off. Every drink (alcoholic and non alcoholic) was amazing. Sheridan is an awesome server--and rest of staff so friendly accommodating. Amazing food and service 10 min from Copper--this is your place! read more
