COVID MENU This wasn't clear to me before I went, so I want to make it clear to everyone:. As of today (April 2023) this restaurant still has a COVID menu. What does that mean? It means whatever you see on the menu and in pictures doesn't apply. They have a COVID menu that consists of maybe 5 appetizers and a couple sandwiches and dishes. I made reservations for a date I was on and when we showed up this place was completely dead on a Saturday night. I thought that was odd. Then we sat down and got the menu and I asked "Where's the menu"? I've seen airport bars with bigger menus. We were going to a show and didn't have time to make reservations somewhere else so we stayed. One dish we got was hummus as an appetizer. The hummus was ok, but half the plate was carrots that had been soaked in vinegar. I'm not sure what that was. The second dish we got was macaroni and cheese. We thought at a nice restaurant like this that it was going to be gourmet Mac and cheese with real cheese and maybe even breadcrumbs on top. NO. It was Mac and cheese out of a box. The orange powdered cheese was runny and thin. Not good at all Until they get their act together I'm giving 1 star. read more

The only reason I'm giving this place anything above 1 star is because of the drinks and the ambiance. The food was nothing to write home about. My besties and I had arrived in Chicago for one of the bestie's birthday. So it was safe to say we were pretty hungry. He got around to 4/5 of us and I guess she turned invisible for a hot second because he dead*ss walked away after getting 4/5 of our drink orders. He was apologizing about it once my forgotten friend said something about how she hadn't given her order, but that had never happened to me before. I was appalled to say the least. Anyway, the food menu was pretty tiny, but that wasn't that big of a deal. I ordered the gnocchi ($28?! For some tiny pieces of potatoes with some tomato sauce on them?!) and the besties ordered pizza. One bestie ordered the margherita pizza and the other besties ordered the pizza of the day, which was a white sauce with ricotta with artichoke and spinach on top. To be quite frank, they hated it and the margherita pizza tasted like regular red sauce pizza (however, the margherita pizza was the better of the two...) the pizza was so bad one of the besties left her to-go box at the table once we left. The crust was too salty yet not seasoned all at the same time. Surprisingly, the pizza was about $10 LESS than my pieces of potato. Also, it took a hot minute for the food to come out. I had it cooked medium. I could've had it cooked medium well but it was so juicy and cooked well. $36 My uncle had the salmon which we served artichoke hearts (so so good). $29 This was definitely a favorite spot while visiting Chicago. Entry: Upon entering we were immediately seated (without a reservation) and provided with a menu, coffee and orange juice. The Menu: Options for the Brunch Buffet or individual options. Our Food: We ordered the following: Omlette- Made to order Omlette with ham, cheddar, and spinach with arugala and breakfast potatoes with carmelized onions and jalapeno pepper. Came with a stack of wheat bread and a darling side of butter and individual strawberry jam! Omlette was huge (3 eggs) and fluffy and with a generous portion of ham, cheddar, and spinach. Loved the small round potatoes with arugala and onion/jalapeno carmelized. Steel Oats- My Dad ordered the Steel Oats which were served with cinnamon, sugar, and other toppings. He stated that it was delicious although not adventurous! Avocado Toast- My Mami orderd the Avocado Toast which came with a beautiful presentation of half a scooped out avocado skin with mashed avocado, cherry tomatoes, and cilantro. Two pieces of thick cut toast were included as were scrambled eggs. Absolutely beautiful and delicious! Two of us went for lunch and sat at the bar. The place was pretty much empty. The decor is decent and inviting. I actually like the menu. The guy behind the bar kept leaving and even when he was there, not asking us if we needed anything. We had to initiate to get service, which was pretty strange. They have an average wine and beer list, although behind the bar looked like they may have solid cocktails. We split the deviled eggs, goat cheese and meatballs. The deviled eggs were good but pretty average. The prosciutto was a welcomed addition but other than that, nothing special. Also, the menu describes the eggs as having caviar on top, but they are topped with roe. This is a big difference for some people (fortunately I am not one of them) so they should just change the description. The letdown for me was the goat cheese fritters. I didn't think they tasted bad, but I expected some additional flavor other than just goat cheese. This is a pretty strong flavor and with nothing to balance it, it was just so strong and one-note. I only ate one and had my companion kill the dish. The best dish was the meatballs, albeit not spectacular. The bread that comes with them was actually very good. The meatball itself had good flavor and was moist and I would get it again. Overall, average spot but a good place to stop if you're in the area. read more

Easter Brunch was terrible! $100. a pop to eat room temperature cheese/cold cuts,warm salad,Warm Seviche and shrimp cocktails. The chicken and prime rib were cold. Three live stations. One person working all three. Did not know what she was serving. She wasn't very good at cutting the cold prime rib. I told the manager that I was disappointed and expected to have fresh food. Most of the food looked terrible at 1pm. The place was empty, therefore the food was not moving. I asked for fresh food. Victor, the manager said they would make me some instead they heated up old food and presented it to me! Up until this point the food, has been amazing. No complaints! However after this experience. I will definitely be reevaluating brunch options. If I were rating this restaurant based solely on this Easter brunch I would give it one star. Beautiful ambience, we're talking candle lit tables set against Georgian windows in a high ceiling room that overlooks Mag Mile, with music softly playing in the background. Not the most outstanding view if you have already gone to the Signature Room in John Hancock Building but the seeping light of dusk through those windows makes it perfect. Our host was an older gentleman who was polite and professional. Our orders were taken fairly quickly after we were seated. I ordered the scallops with pork belly and I think I made a fantastic choice. The pork belly was marinated and cooked to perfection, with a melt-in-your mouth texture. The scallops were also seared perfectly, tasted fresh as they should. I enjoyed the way it was presented and the flavors that came together - the slight sweetness from the pork belly and its sauce, the fresh, slightly tangy flavor from the corn and a mildly spicy flavor of the sauce on the scallops. I did say YMMV for food because the other order was the hanger steak with frittes but it was alright, nothing to write home about - the steak was more on the rare for a medium-rare order, and I personally thought they could have done better with the fries, could have definitely made them crispier. Overall, had a good dining experience, would recommend, for said combination of factors. read more

Creamy fresh and good flavor. You don't see these on menus these days do it was a nice surprise. Another neat invention was the salmon BLT sandwich. I had the salmon topped garden salad which didn't disappoint. Portion of salmon was very generous and cooked perfectly! Only thing I would say is it needed a little more dressing combined in the greens along with better portion of goat cheese. All in all it's a very nice change up from the typical regular lunch selections and easily accessible downtown. Great for special occasions, groups or even a quick premium lunch. read more

The 676 Restaurant & Bar is an old world relatively dark and quiet place for cocktails overlooking Michigan Avenue. It is located on the second floor of the Omni Chicago hotel. We took the elevator up one floor. The bar was named one of the top hotel bars in Chicago by Michigan Avenue Magazine. We sat at the bar. I enjoyed my Kahlua and cream for $10. Hendricks was $13 and a glass of 9 ounces of Dashwood sauvignon blanc was $14. Our bartender Simon served our needs well. My bill was $41 less gratuities. This is the place to visit if you want a quiet cocktail. read more

This is really good food and not a bad choice if you just want some good food without a long wait and great views of Chicago's Michigan Ave. I had the spinach salad as a starter which was beautifully done with bacon, soft poached egg, sliced apple and smoked almonds with a white balsamic vinaigrette. This was absolutely delicious and I probably could have made a meal out of it. For dinner I had the salmon with the lemon buerre blanc which was also good. Not the best I've ever had but tasty. I particularly enjoyed the cauliflower mash and it made me feel somewhat healthy(although I know there was some cream in there). I felt a bit guilty about coming here because I was staying at the Omni and was just too tired to find and outside restaurant, but I was pleasantly surprised and felt good when it was all said and done (and the plate was clean). read more

At least I had no idea and I consider myself "in the know" when it comes to the restaurant scene in Chicago. The $32 prix fixe menu of 6 courses (yes, that's 6!) for restaurant week lured me in with a group of lovely ladies. I've been eating out for Chicago restaurant week every night this week so for the sake of fitting into my jeans I decided ahead of time I'd opt out of the 6 course menu and order something from their regular menu. Of course when I got there I was convinced that the courses were really small (really just samples) and to try it. And I"m always one to succumb to peer pressure when it comes to food. I may just need to buy bigger jeans... I ended up being very happy with my 6 course menu...and it really was the perfect portion size. Here are all the details: Hot Rock Shrimp: got to cook my own shrimp, which was fun. And tasty! 676 Green Salad: Full of almonds and goat cheese- yum! Tomato and White Bean Soup: My favorite dish of the evening! Seared Atlantic Salmon: Had a very strong citrus taste, which I didn't mind, but not for you if you're not a citrus lover Chicken (was supposed to be filet, but I swapped it for chicken): Also delish Navel Orange Tart for dessert: I didn't think I was a tart person, but maybe I am because this totally hit the spot! The restaurant was pretty much empty (like i said...most people don't know about it) so we got lots of attention from our servers, although I thought there was a bit too much time between the shrimp course and everything else. Then again, we were a large party and when that's the case I always expect things to move along a bit slower. They were extremely nice in letting us switch up things from the prix fixe dinner. Examples: chicken instead of filet for me, vegetarian options for a vegetarian member of our party, and a chocolate dessert instead of the tart for someone else. We could have definitely gotten by with two, but glad we got three because our last choice, the margherita flatbread, was outstanding. We expected the grilled scallops and crab cakes to be top notch (otherwise they'd leave them off the menu, right?) but the flatbread really surprised me. Came here for Valentines day. My husband RSVP a month in advance. They said you have 48 hours to cancel the reservation​. We talked to them 72 hours and they made it sound like a prefixed menu was an option. The day of we got an email saying we had to order from the prefixed menu and if you cancel the reservation is $70. This is something we should of been told 72 hours before when we talked to them so we could of canceled our reservation. The prefixed menu was $70 a person. We were really disappointed. What a beautiful beautiful view into downtown Chicago. Majority of seats, I would say, are close to the window, so every seat is great. The decor is nice, colorful, but sophisticated. For all that, i added one more star. The food was good - the dishes were flavorful..but that may have also because I kept choosing dishes with flavorful cheese haha. My favorite dishes were the crabcakes (but who doesn't love good crabcake) and the tomato and white bean soup. The truffle-y taste was great. The staff was very nice, attentive, and helpful.
