Just note you do have to go through the hotel to get to the dining space, which can feel a bit confusing at first. Food was overall decent. The taco had very tender beef, though slightly oily. Stopped by CBR during our stay at The Royal Sonesta for a quick happy hour, and can confidently say that this hit the spot! My girlfriend and I both grabbed a margarita, which was pretty good. Along with that, we ordered their fries and hummus. The spotlight of our meal was definitely the hummus. We eat a lot of hummus at home, and this might be one of the best we've had. My husband and I stopped into CBR for happy hour on Saturday. This bar is a part of royal sonesta hotel. Happy hour is nearly every day from 4-6pm and saturdays 2-6. I started with their twist on a Negroni, which was perfect, and my husband started with the old fashioned that he enjoyed. The tacos were so crunchy and cheesy with delicious broth dip; we both had one. The Brussels sprouts were so crispy and saucy. Truffle fries were great! We enjoyed the hot buffalo and Asian crunch wings. My second drink was Duke of daiquiris (which was my favorite and so sweet), and my husband ordered the margarita. One of the best Caesar's I've ever had. Seriously. I added the flank steak. Cooked perfectly medium rare. Homemade dressing. Croutons were out of a box but still fine. Holiday decor around the space added a seasonal, festive touch. When I stopped in, it seemed like most of the patrons at the bar were staying at the hotel, but I felt welcomed and was promptly offered water and a drink menu. I had a taste for a negroni, which was exceptionally prepared. The menu features mainly light bites, and I was told by the Nate behind the bar that CBR offers happy hour (wine/beer and featured craft cocktails along with food) on Tuesday-Friday, from 4pm-6pm. Was working from home today and around 330pm I decided to take a walk to try a new restaurant in my area. I was walking by CBR around 4pm and it looked like they were just opening so I stopped in and I was immediately impressed. Nate and Miguel were both opening the restaurant and they couldn't have been more of a pleasure to interact with and gave me some really good recommendations on food. I started off with the Tuna Poke on happy hour... the only thing I'm upset about is I didn't start dipping the poke in the sauce until the end, and it was incredibly tasty... The dish itself was rock solid and it was the perfect appetizer because it was light with protein and healthy fat... (I was super hungry when I got there so it killed the hunger, but I still had plenty of room for the chicken sandwich and fries) With that in mind, I don't know if I was just really hungry... or the Chicken sandwich was the most perfect combination of flavor and tender chicken, topped with grilled Brussels sprouts. I think the kids these days call that, Fire! Ps. Make sure to ask for the chicken sauce on the side as well. They both recommended it was much better than having it with ketchup. Honestly, hands down one of the best chicken sandwiches I've had in a while. Lastly, I tried Nate's self engineered "Kiss-Kiss" cocktail drink which I thought was amazing (Whiskey, with egg whites and some kind of fancy berries). 11am on a Saturday morning, approximately 7 tables out of 50 full. Would not usually mind a slower waitress if busy, but there was literally nothing going on. Waitress checked on us once to take our drink order, 4 2 ingredient cocktails, and food order. Food came out before the drinks except for one meal which we waited an extra 40 minutes for. People were done eating when we asked where the 4th meal was and they said it was coming. Why not bring out all food at the same time? Then told us they would comp the drinks for the table and bring an extra for the person left out, all of it ended up on the bill. I went to CBR by myself for breakfast and sat at the bar. No complaints whatsoever. Food was exactly what I needed. I have a bit of a sweet tooth after a night out and the Nutella and waffles hit the spot. The space itself is very clean and elegant. Lots of sunlight comes through one side of the bar that's floor to ceiling windows. Very refreshing in a way that's not normally associated with bars. The service was impeccable.
